Sequels that had a considerably worse reception than the first/previous seasons.

The most common causes is continuing a story that fans considered completed or a bad/rushed adaptation.

Not including reboots/remakes/alternative versions.
Not including airing seasons nor seasons from less than 2 seasons old after airing.
Not adding sequels that had a score higher than its direct prequel, no matter if its score is lower than the first season, for example:

S1: 8.5 S2: 7.4 S3: 7.6
In this case I won't add the third season.
Not adding inter-season OVAs either but adding sequel specials meant as finale.

This is NOT based on my personal opinion although I might leave it here but it won't have any influence on the scale.
This list is MAL's score-based.
With "best" season I refer to the season with the highest score.
Difference must be more than 0.50 points unless next season of a previous one that was put here has a lower score of more than 0.1

Anime that are adaptations of/inspired by literature/books :)

Anime that were made in collaboration with studios from countries outside Japan. Outsourcing doesn't count. Aeni and donghua international co-productions may also be included.

Series which most Finnish people watched in their childhood.

Anime that suffer from a considerable drop in animation quality in at least one episode. This can vary from weird looking faces to changing animation technique, using cutouts to make up or making an episode with basically no animation.

I looked in TVtropes, CBR and AniDB for some of these.

Anime based on the Moomin series of books and comics by Finnish writer Tove Jansson and Lars Jansson. Moomin features a family of trolls called Moomins and the adventures they live with their friends.

Takeyuki Kanda was an anime director for Sunrise who was known for directing Vifam, The Ultraman anime, Kiko Senki Dragonar and the first six episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. He was a close friend and coworker of Ryosuke Takahashi.

On July 27, 1996, Kanda suddenly died. Umanosuke Iida took over for the remaining episodes of The 08th MS Team. The final episode of The 08th MS Team, the movie Miller's Report and the first episode of Ginga Hyōryū Vifam 13 were all dedicated in his loving memory.
