I'm going to recommend this anime not because it's a gem in animation, it's a gem in comfortable storytelling, or it's one of the best manga adaptations that have ever existed. I'm going to recommend it because it is indeed entertaining, although it really isn't a big deal. The concept surrounding this anime is great, a protagonist who continually reincarnates in different worlds, adapting to them trying to climb in them, now being one of fantasy and like a monster. But we have to be honest, the story is written in such a way that it seems like a simple fanfic of a very horny ... teenager, the animation and the Lore are simply mediocre, but despite this I find it a completely entertaining story. At a certain point I can come to think that perhaps it would have been better if instead of being four or five days per chapter, it was a short 5-minute chapter with each day. Like those kinds of anime that last very little but have several chapters.

Look at it:
* You like Fantasy
* You find yourself saturated by animes with much more complex stories and you want a break
* You want to see a protagonist who does inseminate his waifus.
* Yes harem is your favorite genre.
* You read at least more than 20 chapters of the manga or two volumes of the novel.

Don't look at it yes:
* Are you looking for an anime with good plot development and a good story?
* You have a very strong monogamous belief.
* You hope to see a second season.

Edit: I have been asked about the fact that I mentioned that the character constantly reincarnates. Regarding this, I am referring to the fact that the mentioned character knew about reincarnation beforehand and also alludes to having experienced it before. Of course, this is something that only happens in the anime. I have read the novel perfectly and I know that it does not mention anything about the topic. But there are also several inconsistencies regarding the initial part of the story in relation to the novel and the anime. So this review being only about the anime, and it mentions that reincarnation. I repeat, I am not referring to the fact that the character dies and reincarnates in other bodies or with another appearance within this fantasy world.
PD: Maybe I'm crazy and I don't know how to read or listen well, but you already reviewed chapter 1, and I always understand the same thing (the above).

Voy a recomendar este anime, no por ser una joya en la animación, ser una joya en la narrativa cómoda o ser una de las mejores adaptaciones de manga que han existido. Voy a recomendarlo porque efectivamente es entretenido, aunque realmente no es la gran cosa. El concepto que rodea a este anime es grandioso, un protagonista que reencarna continuamente en diferentes mundos adaptándose a ellos intentando escalar en ellos, siendo ahora uno de fantasía y como un monstruo. Pero hay que ser sinceros, la historia está escrita de tal manera que parece un simple fanfic de un adolescente bien caliente, la animación y el Lore simplemente son mediocres, pero a pesar de ello se me hace una historia completamente entretenida. En cierto punto puedo llegar a pensar que quizás le hubiera ido mejor si en vez de ser cuatro o cinco días por capítulo, fuera un capítulo corto de 5 minutos con cada día. Como esa clase de animes que duran muy poco, pero tienen varios capítulos.

Míralo sí:
* Te gusta la Fantasía
* Te encuentras saturado por animes de historias mucho más complejas y quieres un respiro
* Quieres ver a un protagonista que sí insemina a sus waifus.
* Sí harem es tu género favorito.
* Leíste por lo menos más de 20 capítulos del manga o dos tomos de la novela.

No lo mires sí:
* Buscas un anime con buen desarrollo de trama y buena historia
* Eres de creencia monógama muy fuerte.
* Esperas ver una segunda temporada.

Edit: Me han preguntado respecto al hecho de que mencioné que personaje reencarna constantemente., con respecto a esto, me estoy refiriendo al hecho de que el personaje mencionado conocer de forma previa la reencarnación y también hace alusión a haberla vivido antes. Por supuesto, esto es algo que solo ocurre en el anime. He leído perfectamente la novela y sé que en ella no se menciona nada sobre el tema. Pero también hay varias incoherencias con respecto. A la parte inicial de la historia en relación a la novela y el anime. Por lo que esta reseña al ser únicamente el anime, y se mención sobre esa reencarnación. Repito, no me estoy refiriendo al hecho de que el personaje, muera y reencarne en otros cuerpos o con otra apariencia dentro de este mundo de fantasía.
pd: Quizás yo estoy loco y no se leer o escuchar bien, pero ya revise el capítulo 1, y siempre entiendo lo mismo (lo de arriba).

It´s a great isekai anime so far, but despite being a goblin evolving( with very human like features), Re:Monster doesn't bring anything knew to the market. Re: Monster has a decent animation, with a storyline where despite being the strongest, you use others to help you and them evolve. It gives you the perspective of a monster side very well, when interacting with other monsters and humans, for the good and the bad. The pacing is really fast some time, but always have a chronology line between the different days. There is an harem, but this time at least the interest of the main ... character and plot for them is of side characters, which may change in the future.

I kind of enjoyed many episodes, it sure had some drawbacks, but it's entertaining, the art was decent, and the method of portraying was good. They could've avoided certain things, for example, in episode 6, the MC could have gone for the kill, instead of easily guessing the scenario, where he recruits the person who has very very few characters or scenes in the whole anime.

The one thing I liked about the anime is, that he trains to get stronger with proper planning at the beginning, & the first few episodes are very interesting. They could not avoid the light harem, as it is necessary ... for future developments, yes they are popping babies out. Overall it's a nice, not boring, and decent anime.

It's an alright show for anime vacuum between seasons.
It suffers tremendously from TooMuchGood disease.
MC gains dozens of ridiculous abilities after eating any random dog and frog lying dead on the road.
MC evolves into some new amazing species every other episode.
MC gets new harem members every time he participates in any sort of fight, by hook or by crook.
MCs merry band of monster organisation grows so wide and tall that like half of secondary cast in later episodes is never really introduced, they just pop into existence and we know nothing about where tf they crawled out from and why do they fight with ... MC now.

They attempted an interesting storytelling method of 2-10 minute skits between time skips forward, but honestly if this story were to be properly presented with conventional storytelling methods, you'd need 40 or more episodes, not 12, andd smart storytelling or not it's impossible to cram that amount of story in one cour.

Still, it was fun to watch even with its shortcomings, so give it a try. If you don't like the first episode you can safely drop it.

In my opinion, as someone who doesn't know the original, the anime wasn't that bad, it does have moments of stuck animations, crooked design, but overall I liked it, I didn't think it was the worst thing in the world, as Some people are saying I've seen much worse adaptations than this and I haven't seen people complain so much but everyone has their own opinion.

It was fun to follow Rou's journey alongside his group of Parabellun Mercenaries and see his interaction with other characters like Mi, Kichi, Terrae, Sato, Sei etc... as well as his children who were born in the final stretch of ... the anime, but because they were Rou's children, they developed quickly, taking away the human baby for the logical reason. Now we have to wait and see if the anime will have a sequel in the future or no.

EDITED ON EPISODE 10:
Beginning with an a gory start, this anime introduces a character type that still tickles my interest. Although they were mainly used to set the stage here, I appreciate their presence. (I've got a soft spot for yandere types.)
It really sets the tone for this anime's willingness to push boundaries right from the get-go. Kinda like how Tensura took its own spin on isekai life as a slime, with its iconic slime protagonist, Rimuru Tempest.

First thing that grabbed me was how it portrays its waifus. They're not just present for the main character's ego boost or to stir up some jealousy ... drama. The power dynamics, strength, and relationships all evolve over time, and it's understandable why the girls would fall for him... Stockholm Syndrome. Which is pretty refreshing to see.

As for the storyline; it's clear it's been well thought out. As at Episode 3, there's been none of that random event mess that leaves you scratching your head.
The animation is decent too in terms of consistency. Not mind-blowing, a bit average; Definitely a generous 6 or 7 out of 10 by today's anime standards.
And the humor? Oh, it's there, and it's clever sometimes. Fits right in with what the characters are going through.

Now, let's talk about the flaws because there are quite a few:
Some of the costume and weapon colors are just too bright. Recently, some shows have gone overboard with toning down colors, but here's the case where it's almost too vivid sometimes. Color and vibrancy work well to make hair and eyes stand out, and that was clearly well done here. But I'd rather have the costumes focus more on detail than a flashy choice of colors in this case, it steals from the character's individual design and can get a bit distracting.
The scaling can get a bit weird too, with characters either seeming too tall or shorter than they actually should be.
Also, sometimes the anime skips over actions to keep things moving. And it happens a lot. It's not a deal-breaker though, 'cause the story flows pretty smoothly overall. But it's noticeable given how often skips happen here.
And the final flaw is how the show takes away old qualities for more of the same. I fail to see much use and significance of lots of Ogrou's abilities. And what was the use of changing Dhami's character type. Why take away the tomboy and turn her into yet another megane beauty? I feel like there was a girl next door/childhood friend dynamic that disappeared as soon as that awkward switch was made. But anyway..

Now here's a very important topic... our main character.
He's pretty likable, but doesn't stand out enough. He's calm, quite charismatic and quite aggressive when the situation calls for it. In my opinion he's well on his way to becoming a harem king for his rizz and boldness. I still can't forget this iconic line, "Dryad-san... itadakimasu."
If you know, you know.... Libidoooo!!!! Classic, man!

So, in conclusion, this anime reminded me why I used to love harem anime. An anime can pursue the harem dream without getting too cringe and distracting, if it has decent storytelling and relationship dynamics. A good lesson in storytelling, I'd say.
It's not on the level of Tensura, in my opinion. But without a doubt it's incredibly entertaining, and I say it's worth a shot if you love isekai.

My rating has declined from a 7 to a 6, becuase I was quite underwhelmed by the experience, might change it depending on how the story unfolds in the final spurt.

Unashamed. That's the best way to describe this.

It's a decent adaptation of the manga. There is bits that are cut off but it mostly follows the same path. The protagonist is a man who ate things to gain their power who then died and was reincarnated as a goblin in a fantasy setting. And guess what. He retained his power of munching. And so he does. He eats. He eats everything and learns abilities from whatever he puts in his mouth. Even rocks! This very quickly snowballs out of control making him as the genre demands, overpowered.

The story begins with our protagonist being born ... in a litter of goblins, who are one of the weakest creatures in a fantasy setting, and quickly picking himself up in a new environment. He makes friends with his siblings from the same litter and the comradery and adventure begins! And then the women appear. And more women, and more, and they all love him uncoditionally, aand before you know it half the screen time it taken up by these forced relationships in such a way that I cannot help but admire the production for going along with it. It's unashamed. It's too much. It's ridiculous. And I like it. There is no pretense. It's just pure male fantasy.

Aside from the crazy harem the ?"overarching story"? is just our evolved goblin and his friends making their way in their neck of the woods, and getting stronger, more numerous and more famous. There is battles, there is heavy metal music, there is "I was only using 1/10th of my power", there is some dark stuff that never gets said openly and there is the old goblin.

Overall it's not great, and it's made for a specific audience that I'm not exactly a part of, but I still enjoyed it. 7/10

Its not crazy good, like (Jobless reincarnation, or slime) but it is enjoyable.

Namely putting this review here because I put off watching this since the reviews were bad, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The animation is not spectacular but its not horrible. It is pretty fast paced, but I kinda enjoyed the pacing. The main character unlocks skills and etc, so if you like that sort of thing, it is here in this anime. It is a similar feel to the slime isekai, but not as good. Still enjoyable though.

But ... definitely worth giving a go if you are out of isekai/power fantasy anime to watch.

And this review would have ended on the first sentence I wrote, but MAL has been strict on word count and etc. So forgive this vomiting of words after the first sentence.

Awesome monster isekai refreshingly abandons so many annoying tropes!

In a genre that oversaturated with so many cheesy teenaged protagonists, it's so nice to see an adult main character who actually behaves LIKE AN ADULT! So no spoilers, but this MC responds to combat tactfully and then doesn't fall into the trap of "I have to be the only strong one." He first takes time to learn his world and situation, then seeks out to improve it.

And when it comes to female characters, he doesn't grossly objectify them and neither does he treat physical relations like they are the bogeyman. I think this just might ... be the first anime I've ever seen that suggests the existence of a healthy sexual response. He doesn't force desires on others, and on the other side of the coin when consent/interest is expressed he doesn't ridicule or shame the thought of it in return, like how every teenaged romcom does. And at the same time, this anime shows that sex between adults can exist without turning it into a hentai. Honestly, when the topic came up it hardly even felt lewd at all because instead it portrayed more like a sensible respectful fulfillment of everyone's feelings.

There are only three episodes of the show released so far, but I have rated this with top marks and will definitely be watching it to the very end. I think if more shows could move into this direction of a full adult cast and follow these trends then I think it would do wonders for anime as a whole.

I am only writing this because of how many bad reviews there are. Anyway, this was amazing. There is no holding back a true anime, honestly, I hate Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken and a growing majority of anime in this genre due to how filtered they are or how dumb they are take Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken for example if I watched it when I first started watching anime I probably would've never watched another because it seemed like an over exaggerated (forgive me) cartoon because anime is about going beyond limits and be more mature this had the gore and other mature ... aspects but kept a sense of light-heartedness sure it had some plot holes but nothing big and it didn't get overloaded with light-heartedness or stupidity like a lot of isekais lately (looking at you "I parry everything") and it was honestly kinda nice having more depth with the friendships and growth. so in conclusion after that rant sorry BTW I would recommend just don't have high hopes.

What I find ironic is the fact that the show itself is an average watchable story as another isekai but with goblins this time. So MC is reborn as a goblin in another world. It's kind of self explanatory what this show is going to be about, goblins in anime typically mean the same tropes every time, but nahhh.. MEGA spoiler: rape, pillage, upgrades. Doesn't matter that they don't show literally anything ecchi whatsoever, all of that is just implied behind the scenes.

And then you have people getting pikachu_face expecting.. different? What exactly was expected here? It's a dumb power fantasy leveling isekai trash show, ... that's literally what this is and what should be expected. But you don't learn much about the show, rather how everyone is virtuous and how they are fighting for morality in a god damn anime.

Anyways, more substance. The good/decent: pace is very fast, it moves in a manner of a journal by using "days" and then going into less or more details considering what happened, it helps keep the pace and doesn't get drawn out for no reason. They don't stuck with "goblins" for long and continue power leveling everything episode by episode. The way things upgrade doesn't necessarily make much sense, but I believe an old goblin talking about levels and everyone using mmo terminology shouldn't make much sense as well.
It is what it is.
The bad/whatever: quality is subpar clearly, but sometimes it has some glimpses of decent quality in there, VAs are typical for genre, music is whatever, animations are occasionally decent, and sometimes cheap. Second half gets slowed for story reasons and while it makes sense, season ends before it becomes a problem, plus clearly there was a cliffhanger for next season (if that happens). Second season might actually be fun all things considered if they continue power leveling everything.

It's a stupid whatever isekai show to waste some time doing other stuff and it's fine. Some people will go and overdramatize stuff for no reason. This one is a worse version of an idea like Kumo desu ga.

Re:Monster isn't a masterpiece, but it's good and worth watching. It managed to entertain me. The premise is quite interesting, the animation isn't terrible, it's good enough not to detract from the experience, the overall narrative is good, and the development of the protagonist and other important characters is well-explored; some characters were indeed left without much development, but no truly relevant character was neglected. I would say that this anime, even with its flaws, manages to be better than many generic isekai series currently airing. I'd say it's being treated unfairly, as people are being too harsh on it, since there are many worse ... anime that don't receive as much negative criticism as this one.

I usually don’t recommend anime, and to be honest, this is the first one that made me want to write a review—mainly because of the rating it’s been getting.

At first, I thought the low score was because of manga purists, since people often get triggered when an anime strays even a bit from the original manga. But no—it turns out a lot of the complaints are about the main character having multiple women.

Now, let me say: I also found that part unnecessary and even unrealistic. Some of the characters just wouldn’t be interested in a relationship with him given their backgrounds and personalities. Still, beyond ... that, I found the way the anime tells the story to be very interesting. It progresses day by day, and the protagonist is not a beta or indecisive type—he gets straight to the point. That, I thought, was awesome.

The story itself is cool too. I watched it pretty fast because it genuinely caught my interest. Unlike most monster isekais, where the MC wastes time or hesitates a lot, this one doesn’t. And that’s something I really appreciated.

So yeah, I do recommend the anime. But if you’re the kind of person who gets bothered by a character having more than one woman, don’t watch it. Even my girlfriend, who usually dislikes that kind of thing, didn’t mind it here.

I watched this anime recently between 13th to 15th November 2025, and it’s another isekai–shonen blend with the usual action, adventure, and fantasy mix — but with a fresh twist. And yeah, just to mention — I watched it right after Goblin Slayer, so for a moment, it actually felt like I’d switched sides… from hating goblins to rooting for one 😅 (well, kind of).

Without giving away any spoilers — the story starts with our main character dying and then being reincarnated as a goblin in a fantasy world. From what I understood, goblins in this world grow up fast but have a short lifespan, ... around 25–30 years or so. Our MC, now called Gobrou, carries a special ability from his previous life (which you’ll have to watch to find out), and that completely changes the usual “weak goblin” story.

There are a few ecchi or bold moments — mostly fan service scenes — that add a bit of humor rather than pure distraction. Some fights make the MC look insanely overpowered, which feels a bit cringe at times, but there are also moments where he genuinely struggles, so it balances out. The whole premise of him leveling up, evolving, and becoming god-tier powerful is the core journey of the show.

Story-wise, it’s unique in concept but still reminds you of a lot of popular isekai anime. It’s not groundbreaking, but definitely entertaining. I liked how it mixes darker tones with light-hearted moments.

Overall, I’d say this anime deserves a 7 out of 10. IMDb might have given it a 6, but personally, I think it’s slightly better than that. If you enjoy fantasy with reincarnation stories or power-up systems, definitely give it a try — it’s a solid one-time watch.

Don't mind the negative reviews. They're from the kind of people who who will actively search for NTR hentai then go into the comments and complain that they don't like NTR.
Yes, this anime has rape and while it kind of glosses over it, effectively has mind break submission in the same vein as stockholm syndrome. It tries to not get too on the dark side of it, but those themes are definitely present. If your stomach can't handle such themes, then do the mature thing and simply don't watch it.

As far as your seasonal isekai goes, this one is pretty enjoyable so far. I was ... a big fan of "So I'm a Spider, So What?" and "Re:Monster" has a lot in common. However, the big downside for me is the pacing. They're very clearly trying to cram a tonne of content into one season. I would've really liked it if they fleshed things out more and just spent more time in general on each event. The setting is good, and has a lot of opportunity for world building, which is unfortunately squandered in their rush to get to the next event. This also makes it a bit of a struggle to keep up with the characters as they evolve so fast and change appearance + names that I often forget who is who.

Overall it's definitely been worth the watch, would recommend.

Honestly, this is one of my favorites that I've found this year. Mind you, I haven't watched many due to business. But have I been enjoying it? Definitely!! c:

I know, I know, it has themes that some "don't agree with", like the murder of living things and consuming them, even when very-very similar to humans (Elves), or literal humans being consumed, whatever the case this show may have in store for us. There's also the no-go r@p3 that may not even be shown in a fictional story taking place in a fantasy world apparently. But see, I simply don't care, in fact, that ... made the show even more unique and interesting. I like brutal stuff, and I want my fictional stories, especially ones that aren't comparable to real-life, to be as brutally sick as they can be. I mean, I'm the guy who LOVED and I do mean LOVED Legend of The Overfiend, the animated film. haha ... I'd figure that says enough?

I really do also like watching how they form a team, become mercenaries, guide and help their clan members, and even execute members of their group if they're to not follow the laws of the land. I also like the survival of the strong aspect, which is extremely comparable to our reality. It's been a truth since the beginning of time, and even in modern day.

I can't say it's my favorite anime, but since it's my absolute favorite that I've seen so far this year, I'm leaving a 10/10 positive review (but in reality, it's 666/10, fyi). I highly recommend watching this if you like so-called "Power Fantasies", as I suppose that's some of what it reminds me of the most. Not like some of the others I really enjoy and rewatch often, like Overlord, but it's still really good and worth watching!!! :D

I watch the dub as always, if it exists, since I'm an English reader/speaker/writer. Perhaps I'll like it enough to even re-watch it in Japanese audio.
