Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen

As an all-time lover of Kuroshitsuji this season kind of let me down on most if not all traits that made... Kuroshitsuji unique.

The art change isn't bad however I couldn't cope with the color palette - the whole dark vibe of Ciel disappeared, and it feels like Ciel is now a whole new character. Remember in the Circus Ark when he struggled to smile, and even got his Smile nickname? Oh boy, this season Ciel is a smiling machine, although it is all an act it still feels off knowing how Ciel used to be.

On the other hand, we have an almost useless Sebastian who ... cannot even sneak into all the houses to find Derik and the rest. The almighty Sebastian cannot also feel the presence of the Undertaker and is *fooled* on more than one occasion when he tries to catch him...

While the anime is following the manga narrative it feels like a weak rebranding of the original anime and it fails to deliver the thrills it once had.

loyal fan of the kuroshitsuji series ... very loyal to the manga but this particular season has fallen off for me personally. i would still watch it but there is just not as giving as the earlier seasons. there is a visible change to the art style and the art, story combined is giving very much murder mystery in a harry potter f4 fanfiction. the character interaction has gotten less tense and more on the school romance chracters side and lots of dialogue at times, feel very surface level and childish. i guess the storyline in the anime is exactly true to the manga so ... this has nothing to do in particular with this anime but i had hoped that they could have done a different section of the manga to animate/ like the earlier seasons an individual story.

I'm not so satisfied with the anime, there are very few fight scenes, I really liked season 1 & somewhat of season 2.

The renewed art is cool, they could avoid using English in a mix of Japanese, if you ask me, please refer to season 1 & develop the upcoming sequel.

I miss those in-house characters, and the dominance of Ciel is missing, if you notice, in seasons 1 & 2, he is strategic & he is like the singular power, but not in the public school arc, it is a bit down in this season.

The story was a soft reboot, but they could've pitched ... more.
