Both of these animes have the same supernatural dark themed atmosphere, and it has the same theme of having a strong bond between it's two male protagonists (yami no matsuei's shounen ai is much more exposed though). Both animes pertains to solving some mysterious cases too. I am 100% sure that you'll like Kuroshitsuji if you're a big fan of yami no matsuei.

Loveless and Descendants of Darkness deal with supernatural battles that drag the characters into bitter confrontations. Dark and mysterious pasts are another common factor, as is the occasionally dark tone that both series contain. While they shy from being graphic, much is implied, leading to many a painful revelation. Loveless qualifies as shounen-ai and DoD has enough boys' love content to be highly slashable.

Strong caring Male/Male relationships with drama and the supernatural? These are a perfect match...(although yami no matsui is a little bit fluffier fare)

Tactics and Descendants of Darkness are detective stories set in a supernatural environment where the culprits are spirits or spirit-like entities. Tactics offers consistent comedy despite a turn for the dark at the end of the series; something similar happens with DoD even if the humorous content is more toned down. On a side note, both are highly slashable in terms of possible shounen-ai relationships: DoD scores higher in this area but Tactics is not exempt of yaoi-like undertones.

Both are pretty similar in both genres (drama, fantasy, shounen ai), characters, abilities (empathy) and both have supernatural plots.

I cannot stress enough how close these two anime are. Yami no Matsuei, Descendants of Darkness in english, is a supernatural mystery anime where the two main characters are two shinigami that go around solving mysteries about demons. Overall, the plot lines are very similar as the first part of the episode or arc is about finding the culprit, and then getting rid of the monster inside of them. There is also a hint of shounen-ai in Yami no Matsuei as the main characters create a bond through fighting together with unrevealed intimate feelings. Just like Monochrome factor, the over-arching plot line is dark, but  read more

Yami no Matsuei, Ai no Kusabi, and Mirage of Blaze makes up the three classic triads of this type of BL anime. To start off Yami no Matsuei is similar to AnK in that the main antagonist is very similar to Iason in both possessiveness and obsession over their ‘love’ interest, but at the same time both have ‘to die for’ looks that makes it impossible for you to hate them. Both these anime unfolds into a complicated plot that keeps you absorbed by the conflict – which usually involves some kind of drama between said main characters – and the story arc ending will  read more

Shonen ai with supernatural themes, the feeling is similar in some parts.

Dead people come back to earth as spirits and get rid of evil. Focus on friendship and contains BL subtext among two partners in evil-fighting.

Both have a similar plot structure as well as an aesthetic and animation style known to older animes. They also both fall under the same genres.

If you loved YnM, you'll enjoy Trinity Blood! Both series have similar art styles when it comes to sharp faced male characters and occasional pans of 3D-ish background scenery similar to that of the YnM bureau scene during the opening song. The main character for Trinity, Abel Nightroad also shares the similar happy-go-lucky-but-serious-when-need-be personality as Asato Tsuzuki and both series deal with the supernatural.

- Same theme, detectives with powers taking on supernatural entities. Tokyo Ghoul Re may very well have taken a few liberties, or perhaps been inspired by several elements in Descendants of Darkness. As well as investigations, there are cursed organ transplants, sexual themed violence, characters experience damage to the genitals, also implications of violation. Both series explore child abuse, and the over the top splat stick gore is present as well. - Protagonists Asato and Haise are similar in temperament and have interchangeable trials and end options in terms of the choices of who they can become. They share pasts that come back to  read more

Gravitation and Yami no Matsuei have a similar drawing style. They're also both shounen-ai series. Another thing that's shared are the random funny moments, including the chibi/animal-transformations.

Both have the magic and the bishonen. Both are slashable (although Yami no Matsuei has far greater potential in this area than Shounen Onmyouji). But most importantly, both the anime have heroes who command the Twelve Shikigami! Shikigami rock!!

Descendants of Darkness and Nightwalker are detective stories in which supernatural heroes must hunt down dangerous demon-like creatures. Both are dark horror tales with a rather fast pacing and action oriented. In terms of character development, these titles focus on immortals that were time human at one point. Descendants of Darkness has a memorable villain that eventually lends an arching plot to the story while Nightwalker remains mostly episodic but both share the same tone and mood.

Both shows are about sending the dead to the underworld. Both contain a lot of drama. Both have more male-male (and female-female in Zombie-Loan) innuendo rather than male-female. Also, great music.

Both series are about supernatural cases that need to be solved. Also, they are built up in a similar manner, each case covers a few episodes, then they move on to the next case.

Both are Shounen-ai series with a lot of comedy where the main heroes are a team of detectives.

Similar style and characters. and double yay for having an awesome storyline! (:

Both anime are shounen-ai. The characters are perfectly built for both animes and the art is to the top levels. Both are great to watch and are suitable for all ages.

Both series have Shounen Ai (male/male romance) - although in Yami no Matsuei it comes across perhaps a little more strongly. In both series, the main character appears light hearted on the outside, but holds a secret pain on the inside. Yami has a supernatural theme, whereas Antique Bakery is alot more down to Earth - but if you enjoyed one of them, you'd probably like the other.
