Akiba Meido Sensou

These two shows are like sisters. While Idols and Maid Cafes might not seem similar, they are in practice, and the execution of each show is similarly intriguing, avoiding being a generic slice of life and really digging into the dark rotten underbelly of the industries they're about.  

Both Lycoris Recoil and Akiba Maid Sensou are shows that have primarily female casts, working jobs that are basically covers for their darker and more covert activities. In terms of marketing, both really did well in hiding what their true premise was about until their respective air dates. 

Two fluffy shoujos with lovable main leads. 

Both about gangs and similar ending 

Talking about maid essence. 

Over the top dark comedy with emotional moments weaved in. 

both of them are mostly about crime, full of violence and bloodshed, cute and dark at the same time. it's also about the friendship or precious relationships between two girls. another bonus highlights is both of the mc working in the maid cafe. 

- Both have an 'older' maid working in the cafe - Both have a not-so-experienced maid working in the cafe - The plot is not as crazy as Akiba Maid, but it has a similar concept of working in a maid cafe  

Both are set in urban fantasy settings in Japan and have player on player battles as well as an upbeat feel to the story as well too. 

Both are featuring cheerful girls partnered with a more reserved and somber girl and their innocnce is being pushed to the limit in a dark world around them in spite of its cheeryness. 

Both animes are allusions to social organizations: in Idol Jihen, the idol groups are political parties, while in Akiba Meido Sensou, Akiba's maids are mafia groups. They fulfill the obligations/adhere to the rules of their organizations. 

Cute girls with dark themes. Jut by the first ep of Akiba Meido I got same vibes. 

Seemly cute girls doing cute things shows have a much darker side than portrayed in the trailers and previewers. Moreover, these shows will leave you guessing what is going to happen next. 

Both are based around dumb concepts and are full of action 

the main similarity is an absurd humor, based on distorted reality. keijo is about national sports competition of beating each other with tenASSity, while akiba meido sensou has the maid idols wars, undercover life of idol's clans which kind like of mafiosi's wars. keijo satirizes super power in sports anime, also the akiba does to the idol-maid culture. cute girls doing non cute things by still being cute.  

If you like a basic simple premises but somehow they turned it from 0 to 100 really quick. 

Both are girls with guns types of stories that focus around violent gangwars and lots of edge and angst to it.
