Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen

Before every season of this show, I always try to remind myself of how unremarkable it should be. Even the name "Demon Slayer" sounds like something crafted by a paint-by-numbers marketing team. Even thematically, what exactly makes it different from the Black Clovers or Blue Exorcists of the world? The budget certainly helps but does little except highlight the magnificent action scenes. I think it's the pathos and the characters. Maybe. I'm uncertain. It is not an original show; it certainly wear its influences, but it uniquely seems to transcend them, becoming the best version of what those influences should aspire to be. Shonen will ... be made all the better for the existence of Demon Slayer.

"Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc" is an intriguing addition to the beloved Demon Slayer series, albeit with a departure from the usual excitement and quality we have come to expect. While the storyline may be perceived as basic and lacking in depth, the series compensates with its undeniable entertainment value. Although this season falls short of its predecessors, there are still notable elements that make it worth watching.

It is important to acknowledge that this season's shortcomings stem from the source material itself. The Swordsmith Village Arc, both in the anime and manga, is often regarded as a weaker point in the series. It is disheartening ... to witness such a decline in production quality after the several seasons of high quality production. As a fan, it is impossible not to feel disappointed.

While this season may not live up to expectations, I advise viewers not to abandon the series solely based on this arc. It is crucial to remember that this part of the story is generally received with mixed reviews, even among manga readers. Let us hope that the next season will see improvements in terms of storyboarding, direction, and overall production quality.

Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc may be a forgettable chapter in the series, but it still manages to entertain viewers to a certain extent. The slow-paced beginning and the underwhelming execution of battles are undeniable drawbacks. While the visuals remain visually impressive, the overall impact and intensity of the fights are lacking. This season captures the swordsmith village arc wonderfully, and really keeps the pace up throughout. Some episodes are double length specials and are practically movie quality all on their own. The animation and art style doesn't slouch or let up throughout. The first episode is a bit goofy, but it's well connected and I think necessary to help connect the plot together from the previous season. There's a slight tone shift, but the direction of the anime is still on the same path as all the previous seasons, and we haven't lost the spirit of the very first episode one in season one.

I'm not really ... sure why some of these other reviews are marking as Not Recommended, as when I read through their reviews, they seem to generally be praising the artwork and story telling for the most part. They only seem to be finding fault with some small amount of scuff that I think helps build character. Is it realistic for everyone to keep fighting despite some hefty wounds? Not really, but it's a show and the main characters are of course gonna get beat up. The point of a hero story is that the hero wins at the end of the day due to sheer will/dedication/strength/etc. If every anime went for a bad ending route just because it seemed more realistic I wouldn't bother watching any anime at all. Not everything needs to be BESERK level of pain and misery.

tl;dr A bunch of these reviewers seem to be full on copium. If you enjoyed the previous seasons, you'll enjoy this one too.

Gonna summarize the overall experience that i had of the series very briefly, zero spoilers and trying the best possible to make an concise and informative review of it without any prejudice in between to facilitate the lector what to expect in more or less degree before watching it.

Animation wise the productions values are still top notch being ufotable again behind the production like previous seasons and so far from what i can recall i dont remember anyhting that might gave me the impression that has decreased on this aspect, sound also was very good maybe in certain way recycing some of the main songs ... keeping the same melody with some arrangements here and there but still very enjoyable and emotive no for less.

Now the duration on this instance is of only 11 episodes which might seem enough to what was all about this arc but to being honest is was only due to an kinda more poorer new cast and overall story and what i mean by that is from our two hashiras (Mitsuri Kanroji, Tokitou Muichirou) who are the ones that take most of the spot on this third season neither of them are so charismatic and weil flesh-out in comparison with Tengen Uzuion on the prequel, being Mitsuri Kanrojithe the more hollow one.
Tokito and mitsuri had their own backstories but neither of them are decent and felt pretty scarce with just one or two episodes as much, i mean we have the same treatment with tengen (and the duration of the series overall doesnt change) but even then the character itselft i feel was better handled and had more thought put into.

Another point to leave is how weak felt the new antagonists of the twelve kizuki (Hantengu and Gyokko), the fight of tokito against Gyokko could literally end up on one episode (if wasnt by such unconvincing decisions by the author on how handle the situations in between these two) and didnt even felt like a threat by itselft with tokito havent even employ all his capacity very anticlimactic and disappointing to say the least.
The same could go to Hantengu in a beginning was decent but suddenly the focus went completely to another part and basically we as the spectator dont see anything related to the fighting obviating on the entrance when appears the love pillar which as i said dont take much of screen-time soon after that with tanjiro and the rest taking the spotlight which makes for the defeating of the enemy pretty dull and as i said disappointing.

One of the negatives points that i mentioned on the second season that i saw as well this time but gladly in more less degree was the comedy in moments where didnt really need it at least were present just for around two or three episodes only, the other which i feel is more worrying is the amount of monologues there are, the character literally explain every single thing even when he is breathing i mean there is not necessity to go in detail mentioning EVERYTHING he is doing , giving me the assumption like its taking the spectator like an newborn who cant interpreter what is happening on screen which is not like we are taking about an series with such lv of intricacy on the argument (which even in those cases is not good recurring to this amount of monologues).

When we are talking about a confrontation of pillars against members of the Twelve Demon Moons we expect (at least me) something up to par like so far we experience with rengoku or tengu which sadly is not the case on this instance, dont misunderstand me there were some decent moments but in general terms didnt make justice the battles to all the premise.

RESUME

Kimetsu no yaiba Katanakaji no Sato-hen keeps committing the same mistakes in some areas like his predecessor and makes new ones from disappointing fights, poorer and more less charismatics characters, an progression pretty elongated in some moments,etc, but even still either due by the high productions lvs accompanied with an overall decent falling to mediocre experience in the conjunct of all the elements that make the series as an whole i think on the big picture at least was enjoyble but (under my opinion) the lesser good one of the three seasons.
It wasnt a bad serries but taking in account all their faluts i also wouldn't go so far to say amazing, to me was meh to mediocre, decent as much i reccomend it, but just dont make illusions.

Being honest, I thought I was done watching this series after the woeful start that it undertook. The pace has nothing to do with the earlier seasons and, at some points, even made me fall asleep, which I definitely wasn't happy about, and Kanroji Mitsuri's fanservice galore, although enjoyable in its own right, also made nothing to startle my interest for the show. I believe it could've been less hampered by pace if they just shrank this arc to a movie or a seven-episode season.

Although all that I've just stated is true about how I feel about this season of KnY, the middle episodes start ... introducing more and more details about the story, and the final episodes are all emotional payoff, everything leading up to them was rewarded with pure tears of joy. Not gonna get into details 'cause spoilers - there are plot summaries elsewhere.

Although the story was a bit lacking in pace and content, the visual and auditive aspects remain intact and as fantastic as they've ever been. Even the inclusion of CGI was well implemented: the rooms feel immense, and the spatial setting truly sets it apart; and the characters really benefit from it too, for instance, one of the main villains, Gyokko, has an airy vibe to it that I believe was achieved with CGI, it further separates the character from reality and gives it a truly eerie and nightmarish aura; and the demonic fish also look disgusting and as if they had come out of my subconscious, they are truly a reptilian fear of mine. The ambient music, although I never pay attention to it specifically, never cuts the immersion by being obnoxious, and the track used as intro just screams KnY like no other, a true banger.

Tl;dr, I'd just say go out and enjoy it now that it's complete. Many of the pacing problems, though still there, may be helped by doing a binge watch, though they wouldn't be quite over, I fathom. Still, the final chapter is a true emotional rollercoaster, and will leave no one untouched.

I'm gonna preface this by saying that the "Swordsmith Village Arc" was not my personal favorite arc in Demon Slayer but I still had some things I liked and appreciated about it. That being said... the anime in general got me thinking that every arc has something especial to it, that's why every season feels "a bit different" from the later. But I like that. It means we're growing with Tanjiro and going through all kinds of adventures and story arcs with him and the others. Seeing it animated actually made me like this arc a little more. It may not be my most favorite ... but I don't think it's bad by any means.

Every season has its ups and downs, but that's not new for your average anime viewer. This arc is a "middle story" that might not be exciting as S2 or interesting as S1 but it's still it's own thing and has importance for the story. As a manga reader, I think Ufotable is adapting the story in a amazing way and I can't wait for the rest of it.

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW

After the insane movie and the fantastic second season, Demon Slayer was on it´s way to become an absolute shounen powerhouse, standing next to the big works of Hunter x Hunter, Naruto or Fullmetal Alchemist. Watching Demon Slayer is always a treat, because you know how consistent and flawless Ufotable is with all of their IP´s. But can this season hold a candle against the groundbreaking previous ones? Let´s get into it.

Story – 6/10

Well to be completely fair, Demon Slayer has never been known to have the greatest story in shounen, but it is blatantly obvious that this season made the ... narrative even thinner than the previous ones. There is almost no real plot-progression throughout the entire series. At least the other ones had a cool concept or a mystery to solve before the actual big fight starts, but this one was just a bit to straightforward. The writing has also taken a big hit, this time more than ever. I mean, if I watch a shounen I don´t expect it to change my life, but all the long drawn out monologues about dying, confidence and strength have gotten to a level where it is just boring and repetitive. The show is titled swordsmith village arc, but most of the series takes place in a random forest. Also, the pacing was pretty bad. This arc somehow felt much slower than the entertainment district arc. Some characters fights just go on and on. Some episodes feel almost like you can skip them.
While this season doesn´t do anything awful, it merely serves the bare bones shounen formula that we are all familiar with, nothing more. If this was the first season, i´d be completely fine with that, but 4 seasons in, this feels like a step back for the franchise.

Art – 9/10

I mean, this is of course the obvious one. Ufotable would never dare to miss in this department and continue to push the medium to new heights. I think this is the season where you can truly start to see the improvement over the first one back in 2019, not in the fights, but in the still moments. Character designs have become even more detailed, the expressions are more pronounced and the camerawork is outstanding.
However the reason I cannot give the full score here, is because like I said, this is an improvement in everything they did since season one, not a reinvention. What I mean with that, is that there wasn´t a moment in the season that hit me quite the same as some of the big finales in the previous ones. I honestly think the source material just did not lend itself to a big climactic ending like the ones before, which is a shame, but not the studios fault, because in this season you truly for the first time felt the source material pulling the studio down which is crazy, because normally if you look at shows like Attack on Titan or One Punch Man, it is the complete opposite.

Sound – 9/10

The soundtrack is fantastic like always. I truly believe that every Demon Slayer Opening we got so far exceeded the one before it, which is a massive compliment because the first opening was already really good. Man on A Mission never disappoints with their crazy energy. The soundtrack itself was very high quality. Orchestral music, great intersections and insane sound designs. You feel every swing with the sword, every breath and every drop of blood.

Characters – 8/10

Okay, so this season kicks Inousuke and Zenitsu out of the story for a while, which is of course a little drawback, but I actually think they wouldn´t have fit in here as well as before. This season introduces two new big characters, the mist hashira Tokito and the love hashira Mitsuri. It´s funny, because everything I liked about Tokito is the opposite I liked about Mitsuri. Tokito had a pretty good backstory as well as a round character arc throughout this season, starting out as kind of an asshole in the beginning, he changes for the better which pays of really well in the finale. But I also think when you look at his fighting style and abilities, he is probably the most boring hashira so far by a mile. Mitsuri is the opposite. She doesn´t really have much of an arc or a long backstory, but the way she moves and fights is an absolute joy to watch. Every fight scene with her was beautiful and unique.
The other new character, that I heard many disliked, was Genya. I actually though he was really interesting. This arc kinda put more questions out about him than answers so I hope we get to see more about him in future seasons.
We also get the backstory of another highly important character that I really enjoyed, but going into that would lead me in the spoiler category.

Enjoyment – 8/10

This is Demon Slayer, so of course it is enjoyable, but like I said before I think this season is a step down in multiple categories. The next season has already been announced, so lets hope Demon Slayer can retake it´s place as the best modern shounen before Jujutsu Kaisen comes and snatches it away this summer season.

The anime the world needs right now, continues to deliver. (And our godly review comes to a close!)

Demon Slayer, bane of all elitists, proof positive that simplicity is king, returns once more to dazzle us with its zen-like purity. The story is simple and direct - Human life is precious, demons are evil, and we must stand beside our friends. It's trite, isn't it? The intellectuals amongst us are already throwing their hands up with a collective sigh. But where has intellectualism taken our world lately? Endless hair splitting has left our collective scalps bald and flaking with psoriasis. Enough of this. Demon Slayer ... isn't a head scratcher, but it certainly satisfies a deep and primal itch.
Here, in my first ever review, I hope to convince the overthinkers to cool their heads a little. We all know you're smart, and that your taste is 100% empirically superior to ours, but you're still missing something. George Orwell once said “There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them", and I'm inclined to agree. But I believe the reverse holds true in this case. Demon Slayer is so profound that only an idiot could understand its depth. I, for one, am such an idiot.

Story

We begin in the eternal hellscape of the demon world. A labyrinth of stairs and paradoxes that would make M. C. Escher dizzy. Here we see Muzan berating his upper rank demons for their failings. We get a good sense of their hierarchy and powers, and how the 'big bad' is still mountains above anyone else. A few of the demons stand out as particularly interesting, but for the most part they are grotesque, endowed with markedly slappable faces and irritating personalities. They're demons though... It's okay to hate these people!
To be fair to the elitists, this scene is pretty tedious. But thematically it holds weight. For the first time we get a sense of Muzan's weltanschauung - he has an abject hatred for all change. Change equals degeneration in his mind. In other words, he has no patience for the ordinary processes of nature. We also notice that Muzan is busily engaged in some sort of chemistry or alchemy experiments. He's a scientist, a rational and unfeeling creature, who lives in a realm of eternal confusion and bitterness. Perhaps he is an allegory for the Cartesian Cogito; isolated from the phenomenal world, spinning his logocentric puzzles for himself in the dark realms of conceptual thought! But I digress, and I don't want to get all intellectual here. Demon Slayer is a simple story.

Next we return to the sunny world of Tanjiro and co. And it's refreshing, to say the least. The contrast between the good and evil characters is bold and obvious. Much like our own world, before unbridled scepticism became synonymous with intelligence (I've really gotta ease up on my thematic emphasis here!) Anyway! We are with our heroes again, and can continue the marvellous adventure. Tanjiro's sword was destroyed in the previous battle, and so he must acquire a replacement. A simple predicament, one that doesn't pertain to any obvious twists or mysteries. Or so we are led to believe. Immediately we are plunged into a parade of ancestral genetic memories, notions of advanced technology in older civilisations, and new types of smell (Brief aside: Tanjiro's sense of smell contrasts handsomely with the scopic pre-eminence of the demons. To them, and to the western rationalist tradition, the eyes are the seat of the soul. We equate "I see" with "I understand". Tanjiro answers instead with "I smell". Yes Tanjiro, you certainly do smell.) The viewer of these worldbuilding scenes will find themselves refreshed by the innate wholesomeness of it all. There's something deeply healthy about Tanjiro. And we, the sick men of Europe (and elsewhere) are bound to resent such an individual.
The story continues with an unusual training sequence, followed shortly by the appearance of the demons. Within a few episodes you'll know the combatants, and what the stakes are. It builds quickly and leaves you little time to breathe (pun intended). You're in the shit now, better be ready. But here's where I'll leave off with the synopsis. I've just finished episode 6, perhaps I'll expand on this section when the series is complete.

Visuals

Demon Slayer is the kind of girl you want to be seen with. Even if she's not satisfying you in the bedroom, she's definitely wowing your colleagues. But here's some real water-cooler talk - does anyone really care? I mean really, really care about the visuals? Of course they do! This is 2023! And we are possessed by the scopic drive, just like the demons! We are the society of the spectacle. And Demon Slayer is certainly spectacular to behold. Or is it? It's beautifully animated, yes. But it's also riddled with zany 'manga faces', jejune 'two-tone' colour schemes for each character, and painfully obvious visual foreshadowing. You can't really spoil Demon Slayer, it spoils itself!
I'm going to be the ultimate contrarian here. Most people (even the elitists) agree that Demon Slayer's visuals are top-tier. It should be the sole thing we can all agree on. But no! We are agreeing on the wrong thing! Instead we should set the visuals aside for now. They are good, but it doesn't matter. What matters is that we have “noticed.”

Sound

Another overvalued sense. Are you getting what I’m hinting at yet? Here’s the real criteria, here’s the category that places Demon Slayer in the highest echelon of entertainment.

Smell

That’s right, Demon Slayer Smells. This series is reason enough for Aniplex to invest in the Smell-O-Vision! Can you imagine the reckless highs and nauseous thrills? To experience the sensual potpourri of decapitated demons turning to ash in the sunlight. The body trembles at the mere thought!
But there was something less frivolous to say here. It is the sense of smell that reveals Demon Slayer’s quality. In order to completely grasp it, we must be willing to put the more critical senses aside. Smell alone radiates a profound aura of acceptance. It does not seek to undermine or explain away. Nor does it put on airs and strut about. Smell has an innocent, childish curiosity about it. Tell smell that you’ve just farted, and he won’t hesitate to imbibe upon your odorous fumes. He can’t help himself; he simply must smell!

This calls to mind the differences of design found in French and German toilets. The French toilet, the more elegant of the two, angles the bowl in such a way that it hides a good portion of one’s deposits. The German toilet, in contrast, proudly displays the user’s contributions. The reason for this is simple – Germans like to look at (and smell) their own shit.
Why, you might ask, is this desirable? Short answer, Germans are weird. But in other ways (in some very important ways) Germans are healthy. Yes, the smell of shit has long been an indicator of health or disease. Perhaps the undaunted curiosity of smell is an evolutionary trait, long since habituated in our ancestral memories. We know it’s right to sniff everything. On some deep and primal level, we must learn to sniff again!

This is what Demon Slayer teaches us – to smell the world around us. Smell is the most personal of the senses, and the most honest. It is also the sense most deeply connected to memory. It carries us back to our formative years, to bask in the rosy glow of bygone hours. Our childhood returns to us, our foolish hopes, our naïve ideals. Things we think we’ve grown too old for. Smell preserves them from our harsh and critical minds.
Smell is also immune to comparison. You cannot smell things in a certain way, nor be educated to “smell better.” But our eyes and ears can be trained. The study of aesthetics has made us wise in matters of art and music. There are professors in these sciences, critics, connoisseurs, and dilettantes of every stripe. All of them can tell you the best way to examine a work of art. And all of their opinions are much better than yours or mine. But they cannot tell us how to smell. No. Smell alone remains the domain of the idiot. And here we proudly stand with nose in hand! I smell, therefore I am.

Demon Slayer smells. Don’t flush it until you’ve had a good hard whiff!

Everyone who tries to be a contrarian with this one probably despises the visual medium in general.

Yes, the story is neither unique nor deep, we get it. However the characters are likeable, quirky and well designed and the action has some of the best animation in the entire industry and honestly, what more do you need if it comes to entertainment? Once in a while you should just allow yourself to simply enjoy some god tier visuals without desperately looking for the new, intellectual challenge or break-through.

Don't feel bad for enjoying the fireworks that are this show.

Well this was an interesting experience for me. Mainly because for 90% of this arc I felt like I was struggling to give this anything less than a high 7. This ended up becoming a 9 following completion and I'll explain below.

I'll still with animation which I think is Demon Slayer's weakest so far. Its still an 8/10 but only just. Everything is all a little bit uninspired. Yes we get to see the Infinity Castle at the beginning, which is always a treat, something that blew my tiny mind when I first saw it at the end of season 1 and here it ... also doesn't disappoint. From here however, it's all a bit safe. Don't get me wrong it's still good, but it doesn't blow ones mind that I've come to expect from this show. The Demons themselves, and the action scene which include them are also unexciting. So as mentioned above, the animation from is an 8/10 from me.

The story is the element which changes the rating from a high 7 to a sturdy 9 and did so with the final episode. For the first 11 episodes, it feels like it's going through the motions, just another arc as a Demon Slayer. Fighting some demons, new characters have moments of self discovery, tanjiro is nice to everyone despite the crap he takes from them etc. Sadly, the comedic element of this arc suffers also due to the absence of Inosuke and Zenitsu for 10 episodes. It takes you through what now seems to be run of the mill battles with demons and obstacles Tanjiro and others need to overcome which seem unsurmountable at first and are slower chipped away at until they become achievable and just when you think your coming to an end of a 7/10 show BAM, episode 11 hits you. This is when I realised that for the past 10 episodes I had been lured into a false sense of security so that episode 11 hits like a f***king truck. I won't say anymore though. Its worthless if its ruined. 9/10 for story.

Up until the last episode it was a 9/10 for sound. Demon Slayer is always superb with music and sound design in general. What the music does for the key moment in episode 11, in building the tension and delivering the release, with the most simple tool a sound designer can use, created what was quite frankly one of the most perfect moments I have been fortunate to experience from sound design in anime. It literally took my breath away. So for this, I must give it 10/10 for sound design.

As with Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village has arrived at the same aggregate score for me of 9/10. Here I thought the pacing was better and delivered a very well written and well balanced story and drew the arc to a close very well which wasn't quite achieved in the former. Lacking here was the finesse of animation and it's associated drama delivered with previous Demon Slayer works. Still, can't be mad at a 9/10, especially when my aggregate across all my animes watched is 7.

Demon slayer is an series that brought most people into anime because if it's of it's out of this world animation or that would what people may tell you but for me it's because demon slayer is a breath of fresh air to the shounen genre. It is by no means very unique but it's execution was top tier from lovable characters to great voice acting, superb character development, good pacing,dark elements within it's story despite being simple and straightforward and it's not even a bad thing because everyone can easily follow demon slayer's story. It griped the world by storm but the swordsmith village ... arc lack key elements which made demon slayer lovable; pacing: this season's pacing is an asspull, a fight that could be wrapped in a 4 or 5 episodes was stretch out to nine episodes I mean come on an entire episode was a backstory and monologue lasting 7 minutes but then again I have to be greatfull because the entertainment district arc ran at a pace so fast I could even say chainsaw man was slower. But the season's saving grace is it's great character development for muichiro tokito but I would have wanted them to give more time for mitsuri kanjori or something like that. Anyways, this season was still a joy ride despite a pacing equal to that of one piece or monster, and an animation downgrade but everything up to the end was terrific especially nezuko now being able..... 🤫🤫😁😎😎 don't worry I won't spoil you.

when I say that, what I mean is that the pacing was better. Demon Slayer is a good storyline, no one can argue that, but what we can all agree on is that certain portions are too stretched out or not discussed enough. I really believe that Ufotable has listened to the fans and made the anime better with every season. While this season may not be everyone's cup of tea regarding the single arc season, IDGAF, this season was perfectly paced and made me ... want more. As well, I believe that I have a better understanding of the two Hashira than I did the previous ones within the story. The only drawback is that halfway through the anime you somewhat forget why the demons are at the sword village in the first place and you lose attention to the story due to the action. You learn so much this season, and I believe that anime stays true to the source material more than other animes that I have seen as of late. If yall want to crucify me, so be it, but I will stand by this season as probably being my favorite of the series.

I personally think that Swordsmith Village Arc is better than previous seasons and for first time I enjoyed Demon Slayer without minor or major regrets about something certain.

I don't honestly get the hate/hype train about this anime but also I don't care about it. There are profiles with mean score around 2 or 3 hating everything in their way. It's kinda interesting to watch 4th season of something you don't like to just hate it. Well, that's to this topic.

Regarding Swordsmith Village Arc, I had my doubts. It's true that Demon Slayer has simple story and also it keeps its standard for so long, so ... I was a bit worried that his season will be bad, repetetive and maybe that I will drop it to just don't remember bad part. However that's not the case.

Story 9/10 - again as every DS season, story is simple yet fancy, with a point, with some background and we also managed to get know something from main characters background. Not every anime needs to have 67125438 deaths, twists and cool spells every damn episode. That's part of the reason why I do like DS as it's really chill anime, yet fancy.

Animation/art 10/10 - here I think that animators did maybe even better job than in last season. Those details were truly amazing and enjoyable.

Sound effects and music 10/10 - again perfect work, perfect sync.

Character development 10/10 - this season has some twists around some characters and they are well done. And there is finally background about Muzan and his history, which is tasty.

Overall I think this season is worth your time if you like DS and it's just another season of chill anime. Very nice, very chilling, eat that rating and give us some more.

KnY S3 is good. It is not on par with S2. If S2 is 8.8/10, then S3 is the 8.3/10 that it has on here. It doesn't meet the marks that S2 does, but still, S3 was enjoyable. It's content that you turn off your brain and binge with ease. This series garners a lot of criticism, and I'm one who didn't really like S1. The animation throughout the series is great, but the one problem has always been its lacking storyline. It's very shallow, and we lack information, in exchange for fights and animation. This is ... fine, I don't think the storyline is anywhere near the trash that comes out of Hollywood, so KnY will pretty much always be a series I can rely on to deliver.

- Great OP ED, good BGM and impactful soundtrack at the end.
Story 5/10
- It's about getting his sword, and includes fights, other than that, the story just lacks expansion of our knowledge of this world.
Characters 9/10
- Mitsuri was a nice character to delve into, I really wanted to know more of her story, and see more of her on the battlefield. Genya and Muichirou were ok. I was kind of glad we didn't have to hear much obnoxious crying from Zenitsu.
Enjoyment 8/10
- Like I said, it was good, not great, but was easy to binge. Simple brain food for someone looking to just enjoy the simple stuff this series offers.

I recommend KnY to everyone, especially those who have no enemies.
