"The Raven of Inner Palace" (Kokyu no Karasu) is very, very similar, if you're in the mood for more palace adventures in the ancient Forbidden City. Like this series, it has a charismatic and feisty young protagonist, the enigmatic Raven Consort, who solves mysteries in the Inner Palace with her sharp wit. We also have palace intrigues and supernatural mysteries. And a beautiful historical setting. I highly recommend it. It is very addictive, and if you like "The Apothecary's Diaries", you will love it.

Takes place in ancient China and all events surround the main female character, who is also surrounded by a lot of male characters with similar designs. Saiunkoku focuses more on the political aspect rather than helping people.

Other than it felt similar to me... -Ancient palace setting -Prince trying to figure out who the female lead is -supernatural female lead with strong personality -other ladies tying to get the prince's attention Tong Ling Fei has more comedic relief elements to it though

Both follow the daily lives of a mc with spiritual powers as they help different spirits/yokai each episode. Both mcs are quiet and reserved, and they start being somewhat isolated and progressively make more human connections as the anime progresses. They also both have a similar melancholic but warm mood.

Both are historical and have the same setup of a harem palace

both are historical fictions with a dash of supernatural themes and represent mythologies from both countries koukyuu no karasu has implied romance between male x female character onmyouji is about the friendship of 2 guys

I felt both shows shared a similar tone with the pacing and characters. Snow White and the Red Hair has medieval European setting unlike The Raven Consort however they share a similar appearance with leading female characters who don't fit in the court they have been place in and solving problems one by healing, the other by power.

While Raven of the Inner Palace leans towards romance and Mononoke horror, the subject matter is quite similar. Both have to do with helping spirits move on and releasing bad energy created from unfortunate circumstances that happened to people in life. The main characters in both anime have a mysterious aura and supernatural abilities that allow them to relieve spiritual baggage.

Similarities: historical setting. Both have supernatural elements, heavy myths and history. slow burn romance (as of episode 7), angst here and there. both fls are so worth simping over.

This anime strongly reminds me of xxxHolic's adventures, where the female powerful character resembles a goddess and solves the problems and wishes of others, with limits based on the story's reality. Both series portrait strong female protagonists and mystery solving, with a wonderful and powerful storytelling based on myths, religion and gods. They also portrait spirits and supernatural entities.

Supernatural ravens, Chinaesque court life, hunky princes, if you enjoyed Koukyuu no Karasu you'll probably enjoy Yatagarasu as well, despite it has a much more toned down shoujo/josei vibe.

Although the setting is different, the main characters are strong and intelligent women. Both resolve mysteries and have a dark sense of humor.

Both anime follow traditional customs, although in RDG it's based on Japanese traditional customs and takes place in modern times and Koukyuu no Karasu takes place in the Chinese Dynasty. The main protagonists of both animes are found to have powers and resemble Goddesses. There's a slice of life feeling that give off the same vibe.

Heroine has supernatural ability, while the male MC is handsome guy and has a high status. They both are in couple relationship.

Both shows consist of the main character(s) resolving supernatural issues that arise with each episode or arc with a loosely-followed overarching plot. Koukyuu no Karasu also has a (very) slow romantic subplot but both are similar in pacing and atmosphere.

Despite having completely different settings (1920s European setting in Gosick vs. Ancient China in Koukyuu no Karasu), they are both series centered around a mysterious female lead with an interesting backstory. Shouxue and Victorique's personalities and experiences have some similarities. Both series also have side stories that gradually lead into the main plot with a strong bond that forms between the female and male mcs. If you enjoyed Koukyuu no Karasu and would like something similar but with a Western setting, I'd recommend giving Gosick a try!
