Scarlet Nexus

This review wants to be my personal experience with the IP of Scarlet Nexus, along with a disclaimer that aims to be an advice for the guys who want to watch this show.
As you may know, Scarlet Nexus is a game. It's quite rare for a game to get released along with an anime, so I was honestly excited and stunned by this fact. The game certainly is amazing and I loved it, but this is no place to talk about this.

Disclaimer if you want to watch the anime:
Play the game first. I played the game two times, both as Yuito and Kasane, the available ... MCs, and i was left with some questions. The anime was still airing, so I waited for it to finish to do a recap of the story, hoping that my doubts could be answered by it. The good news is that yes, they were, and I think all of them were. And I really appreciate the anime for doing this. I think this was the main purpose of creating it and i really think they did the right thing with this choice, at least in the concept, since the realization is kinda poor.
The episodes contain some codes you can enter in the game in a certain restaurant in order to get customization stuff. It's a cool idea and I appreciate it but don't watch the anime if you're playing the game, it will only ruin your experience imo. Just look for the codes by doing a Google search since it ended by now anyway. If you want to still enjoy more content after completing the game 2 times then watch the anime, but be warned: it doesn't expand the main story, just adds some details you probably missed at the price of zero character development.

Actual Review:
Since I played the source material, e.g. the game, I can actually judge it by making comparisons. You should respect that a 26 episodes anime is trying to cover the whole thing. My first gameplay took me about 50-60ish hours to complete, and the second one another 20-30ish. If you think about it, 26 episodes amount to less than 10 if you remove the opening and ending time. You can't expect to go through the character development you get in the actual game IF YOU DECIDE to spend time with your mates on your free time (completely optional). Of course this led to a really poor character development, but that's to be expected. The animations were on low budget, but they weren't the worst I've ever seen on an anime, so i gotta give them props for this, even if I don't know how much budget they had. The sound comparment was really really good, 'cause not only did they get two original songs from "The Oral Cigarettes" as Openings, but the Endings were also pretty good. Sound compartment was also almost entirely taken from the game, so it was of course of high quality, both in dubbing and effects, and i also appreciated the different arrangements of the in-game osts i already knew.
As i said in the disclaimer I really enjoyed the fact that I got what I came for, which was answers to my questions, because some really important plot points were explained with more detail here rather than the game itself. A lot of main happenings were rearranged for some reason (i think to ease the strain on the animation team) which led me to be confused for a moment, since I was expecting to see a faithful adaptation of the game story. Another reason could be that this way, they had the chance to further expand on the plot points that weren't so well explained in the game as i told before, so it was sometimes appreciable. Just, I didn't enjoy the stuff that was made up in the anime that didn't exist in the original game just to create some drama or suspance (that honestly didn't got me hyped). I dunno if they really tried to create more suspance by adding some dramatic context to the scene that wasn't there in the game, but if it was only to fill some void time well that's kinda sad.
In the end tho, i think that if you enjoyed the main story of the game and you're in for a rewatch, this anime does the thing. Just don't expect the same quality.

I don't usually even give ratings but this time I had to since people don't seem to know what they're talking about.

The good:
This anime is a nice extra to watch after you've finished both of the stories of the game but still want something more out of this series. It adds extra scenes that lack from the game and generally expands on scenes that it did have.

The bad:
As a standalone anime it isn't the best. If you haven't played the game, you probably shouldn't bother watching this. While in The Good I said that it adds scenes that the game lacked, the game generally ... does the story much more justice and doesn't leave you as confused as this anime does. Animation and art are okay but nothing to brag about and the story feels like it's rushing forward far too quickly, and at times scene composition feels very off.

Conclusion:
Play the game first, watch the anime after. In no way is it necessary as the story is the same, but as said, the anime does add something new to it as well. Plus you get secret codes from the anime to use in the game.

I give this a 10 overall due to fact I played the game and I simply enjoy the expect of what the series hold… I do believe it does have some flaws but at least it’s better than divine gate in every way so please do give it a watch.
I liked it for all of reasons like the opening, ending, fight scenes, characters and many more besides I do know there’s worse animes out there and like me the god of all anime watchers I am enjoying this anime 100% better than naruto or my hero.. scarlet nexus has the best fandom of all animes ... to date.. if you like anime at least check out jahy sama or redo of healer also top tier series. 😩

I have played both perspectives of the game, and as of today (9/8/21), I've seen 9 episodes.
Story:
I absolutely love how the story is basically the same as the game, where it isn't a completely different plotline, since most animes tend to stray from the original. I'll admit, it's strange watching a third of the game go by in two episodes, but considering the anime will only be 12 episodes, I think the pacing is just fine - they emphasize the important parts.
Art:
I know a lot of people dislike the CGI, but it is one of my favorite parts, and I think it's neat, because ... it definitely gives it a videogame-esque feel. Just like the videogame opening, the character animations could use a little more work, but they still make the characters look good in the right scenes. The backgrounds are based off the game maps, and it makes me really nostalgic.
Sound:
They take sound effects from the game, so that's pretty cool. However, I don't remember hearing any songs from the videogame soundtrack, so that's rather disappointing. At least the opening Red Criminal is excellent! Not only is this anime in Japanese, but they are dubbing it into English and are bringing back all but three of the VAs from the videogame. So excited!
Character:
I'll admit - this is one of the shortcomings of Scarlet Nexus, both gamewise and animewise. There isn't a lot of character development, and the backstories don't really get interesting until much later. The characters mostly have one specific strength/weakness that defines them, so they can be kind of bland at times, but I guess the game's bonding events can make up for what's missing in the anime.
Enjoyment:
With Scarlet Nexus being one of my favorite games ever, this anime was something I definitely had to see. So far, I've really enjoyed it, especially the way it shows both routes at once, where in the game, you're only see one perspective at a time.
Overall:
Scarlet Nexus isn't the best anime out there, but I think this is really eye opening for anyone who wants to play the game but can't, or someone who simply wants a rundown of what goes on. I love seeing the differences between the anime and the game; it makes me smile and laugh, and it also breaks my heart - the anime nailed the emotion factor! This might not be for a hardcore anime watcher, but it's definitely a treasure for gamers who want more! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Well if anyone's going to complain about quality I recommend u go play the game lel
Believe me its not better at all, although art can be considered very good but like a visual novel cant see much but read way too much. Sometime I had to beg they added more animation scenes like the anime than talking heads TvT
Basically this anime is just extra part for the game since players have to see the anime for the hidden codes
As far as I see the anime is a quick review for the game though in a less detailed way (bad eh)

these are just some of my opinions:

- given a light plot in the first few episodes, but immediately 'hit' with political issues and heavy cases so that it appears doubtful to continue watching. I hope this anime doesn't reach 50 episodes in total.

- confusing to side with who is right and wrong at the end of the anime, who is cruel, and the main character is naive.

- it's scary enough to think of a char or human consciousness whose body turns into a monster, the case is like our closest person turns into a zombie due to infection, dead or not, asking to be saved ... or not, is she still aware and remembers that she was a human?
