Ninja Collection

In just three minutes per episode Ninja Collection managed to become the greatest anime of all time. Even better than Isekai Cheat Magician? Without a doubt. So, what makes Ninja Collection so great? Let’s start with the story. Ninja Collection is a collection of horror shorts. Horror and anime don’t have a great track record, but Ninja Collection rectifies this by keeping its episodes short enough so that the story can’t be ruined later because of plot holes and logic flaws. I also have to tell you that Ninja Collection is legitimately scary. The thing that makes it scary is it’s art and animation—or should ... I say its lack of it? The art in Ninja Collection is so lacking that characters become disfigured. This disfiguration makes it difficult to keep your eyes on the screen. The minimal and inconsistent animation does well to create this hideous aesthetic. That minimal animation adds to the shock factor because you never know when the animators will decide to animate an attack , a monster, or a body part. The show’s music is incredible as well. In fact, I bet if you played the Ninja Collection for the likes of Rebecca Black and Jacob Sartorius, they would burst into tears at the first sound of this OST’s majesty. Lastly, we have the characters, and the characters do not disappoint. I don’t remember any of the characters’ names, and I’m pretty sure every minor character had more dialogue than our protagonist ninjas, but that’s perfect because no one has ever seen a ninja in real life, so we wouldn’t hear them speak, and we definitely wouldn’t know their names. Overall, Ninja Collection is easily the greatest anime of all time. FMAB? Not a chance. Steins;Gate? Trash. HunterXHunter? Not even in the conversation. Ninja Collection is the one and only flawless anime. It is the greatest anime ever made, and if you disagree, you are not a true anime fan.

I stumbled across the start of this series some time ago, later discovering the anime series that spawned this, Yami Shibai.

Unlike Yami Shibai, who also takes a few minutes each episode to tell a short horror story, I'm afraid the premise gets in the way of the horror aspect. While the visuals work really well in delivering a creepy atmosphere, it's hard for the story to get too dark when the monsters are banished by the ninja-exorcists that the series focuses on.

This has happened a couple of times in Yami Shibai too. Like in Ninja Collection where the horror is somewhat undercut by the ... premise, one season of Yami Shibai focused on stories with really grotesque creatures that were so outlandish that it was hard to be scared anymore. They made up for it later with the next season having a theme of the ghost stories having quick live-action shots at the eeriest places for emphasis, something that worked a lot better.

I'll never undermine someone's creativity in giving this a shot, as the ghosts themselves were rather eerie and it was a fine time to be had each Sunday. However, it was just hard to get too scared with it.

This is THE best anime of all time. And I'm here to tell you why.

The Story: 10
The story follows a talented, young man. He is the most talented in his school and it was great seeing him succeed. This was incredibly relatable for me since I am the most talented NA.


Art: 10
The art is outstanding! Don't even get me started on it. It was a great choice to make it the way it is. Everything about it when I was watching was stellar, even background characters got decent art.

Sound: 10
... The sound was great and the sfx really fit well in pretty much every scenario.

Character: 10
The Characters are the best! They're all so relatable and that is why I think this is a 10. It's like they put real people in this, this is how relatable I think it.

Enjoyment: 10
Incredibly Enjoyable to watch with friends, family, or pretty much anyone.
