Mission-e (like it's prequel, Code-E) examines life with special powers in the near future. Shinsekai Yori is set in a more distant future but it also examines humanity through the lens of special powers.

its Parent story to Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, its mostly same, but Toaru Kagaku no Railgun i about a girl who is one of secondary mane char's in this anime, but Toaru Kagaku no Railgun she is main protagonist, most of the story takes place before Toaru Majutsu no Index story begins. Some people have powers, some people don't. Toaru Majutsu no Index is more action-oriented, both shows are as much about relationships and people as anything else, this anime also has religion in it, mane char girl named Index some others chars then English Anglican Church & Rome Church, ton't want  read more

Putting it Simply, Girls with Special Powers fight Bad Guys. Putting it Largly, People with very simple powers use them in interesting and amazing ways to fight Bad Guys and Evil Orginizations. R.O.D. definitly has more depth to it's story and charecters then Mission-E but both are worth a look. I also Recommend watching the sequel R.O.D. TV, and the prequel Code-E.
