Story: (3/10)
Really slow and too much passive scene (discussion, talking, etc.). The ending was very bad. How could Milim play dead just for fun while destroying other people village? That doesn't make any sense.

No different than other anime. I like cute kawaii sounds so I give it good rate.

Character: (4/10)
... There isn't much character progress through the story. The Milim ending part is the worst part. Destruction just for play? And Rimuru okay with all that? I assume building town is easy in that world. But destruction in other Devil King's kingdom is insane.

Enjoyment: (4/10)
Decent. I enjoyed some scene like the evolution of Rimuru becomes Devil King, and the rebirth of Veldora. But Veldora in human form is pretty disappointing and doesn't look as badass as Veldora's dragon form.

Mediocre anime. I might not continue when there's new season of this anime.

A total of 12 episodes. Almost 90% of its content is about 'meeting'. To be fair, I don't understand what is the point of war meeting if we knew Rimuru and his crew are just gonna win every battle tho lol. Happy ending all the way. Basically the story of the whole second season is about Rimuru vs Clayman all the way. As we knew from the 1st season, Clayman is our major antagonist and in this season, I expect him to get at least an epic fight, great ending for our antagonist since the 1st season. Guess what? it's not even that dramatic and ... mesmerizing. Few minutes fighting, the rest 15minutes we just forget it and do another meeting.

The music is somewhat decent but not that catchable. Art style, no major improvement, at least consistent since the first season. Of course our characters got some improvement but other than new 'op skill', I don't think there are any huge changes. I hope they put some action in the movie or maybe 3rd season to be honest since we barely see Rimuru fight in its 'full' power for a total of 48 episode already. I hope some part in the LN got some action kick in already. I mean, what's the point of getting bunch of overpower unique skill here and there without using it into practice?

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken 2nd Season Part 2 (2021)

No matter how good the end was the first 6 episodes were just pure foreshadowing and a huge waste of time that could have been easily condensed. I nearly dropped it because it was taking so long to actually do anything of note. Even then you get some nice battles towards the end that are cut short and everyone just clapping and say well done with the overly affectionate city of the slime.

The art is the great standard the show always has and it is brilliantly done.

The OP and ED are alright but maybe ... tried too hard. The SFX is awesome when you actually get it.

Characters do develop a fair amount during this which is great but then Rimuru is perhaps just a bit too overpowered to a point where it becomes far too predictable. I would honestly say that I got a bit bored of Rimuru during this since even when it is shown to be a struggle suddenly unknown power appears or the power of friendship appears.

It was enjoyable but at the same time the dullest set yet with the mass foreshadowing. It is worth watching if you like the series but honestly, you could almost skip the first 6 episodes and not feel like you missed much. I did like the background of Clayman being somewhat an underdog and the hot vampire Valentine, she was amazing those eyes.

6/10. Too much for too little.

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken 2nd season part 1 leads you into a false sense of security going into part 2. Getting pretty much more of the same level of quality content as we saw in the first season.

TSSDK has consistently had top level art/animation, yet whilst season 1 and 2 (pt1) left little to the imagination, part 2 is the tease the never lets up. The art is as we'd expect and yet the animation is nowhere to be seen.

The first 3 episodes we see little more than the same characters sat around a table discussing the situation we already know to hold true ... and exposition dumping how they all feel about it. Nothing particularly wrong here, a certain amount of this is to be expected, but 3 episodes is a long time for no apparent progression so at this point we're expecting the animators have dumped all their budget into some kick ass fight scenes. Another 3 episodes in and we're still watching the same characters sitting around, except now we're outside. We've literally watched 2 hours of these characters sat arms crossed, occasionally nodding, grimacing or clapping. We're now halfway through the season and nothing has happened.

Episodes 7 and 8 happen and now we start to see characters mobilise and skirmishes ensue between the 2 factions of focus: Clayman and Tempest. Except, what is this? These fights, they look like skirmish fights straight from One Piece. Where's the kick ass animation? Barely any to be seen and panning camera/screens to give the illusion of activity on the screen. Where are the awesome fight scenes? Episode 9 and it's more of the same but at least the generals have made an appearance. Not much actual fighting though, largely just faction leaders taunting each other.

Episode 10 and finally something happens. Finally some character developments. Finally some actually animated action sequences. Finally some story progression. Episode ends on an enticing cliff hanger that has the potential to halt the action or antagonise it. I don't wish to spoil the details, but it seems 9-10 episodes was excessive buildup for what is potentially going to amount to 1, maybe 2 episodes that finally reach the same standard set my the predecessors.

Can I honestly, hand on heart, award this season the same score as the previous? Not on your nelly can I. I don't know what issues, if any, the studio had with production. It's an unforgiving industry and I sympathise with those in it. But that's not to say the show is going to get a free pass for failing to meet (previously met) standards.

The show flirts and never puts out. It lacks progression, it lacks pacing, it lacks even the mildest form of action until the closing episodes. This season has overall been a shameful disappointment. Can the final 2 episodes redeem it? I think at this point it's beyond the point of no return. Even if the final and penultimate episodes exceed expectations I could only round the complete experience off to mediocre.

Not sure what happened to this show or how it fell off so precipitously. Any excitement went out the window and instead we get to see slime, their friends, and the kings or representatives of a several nations countries hanging out, taking hot spring baths with each other, palling around, and repetitively talking about how cool it is being friends and how chill slime turned out to be for way too many episodes. It is very lame and boring compared to what preceded it. And it is so childlike too, everyone agrees with everything, everyone is instantly friends with slime, everyone thinks Slime is just ... the grooviest. Everyone is so buddy-buddy, laughy-laugh, and smiley-smile all the time it hurts the show and detracts from any feeling of reality or stakes.

It gets so bad at the end of one boring episode they have a character burst in with an shocking announcement before cutting to credits. Guess the excitement starts next episode? No, you might think that, but that bait to watch the episode was a total lie. They do another entire episode of slice of life BS before people remember that one character had a an urgent message that couldn't wait. So stupid. I'm not sure if you read that right so I'd like to say it again. They do a cliffhanger dramatic announcement at the end of one episode, and then the next episode doesn't address the dramatic announcement at all. It's like you've been watching several episodes dragon ball z where the good and bad guys have been standing there talking, then it is finally about to get to the big fight, and right when a character is about to start charging up it suddenly smash cuts to the worst, most boring filler arc crap you have ever seen with no explanation at all. It's not just bad in itself, some of the plot points and pacing actively don't make sense, it feels like the story is being told by a schizophrenic. So it is already incredibly boring and lame but then on top of that it doesn't make sense.

The show stands at a crossroads and I still have my fingers crossed it can get good again. I will watch another season if it happens but I'll also be ready to drop the show without regret if they go back to the feeling this half of the season had.
