They are both series about Basketball. Buzzer Beater is a bit more on the scifi end, both are series that will be enjoyed by basketball / sports anime fans.

Both sports series deal with basketball on an alternate setting of the earth and time. Both characters hate the kind of basketball going on and want to change it by their own doings. As the players in Buzzer Beater enter the intergalactic Basketball championship, the people in Basquash! are going all-out in Big Foots (Robots) in the championships and streets.

They're both about basketball. Also Kuroko and Hideyoshi look like eachother. The art in Kuroko no Basket is better in my opinion.

What is apparent from watching BB is that decisions were made to contrast the hues in the anime; protagonist's blue, so his opponent's red, but that doesn't stop there at all as even environments are usually one or another, kind of like how in Tatami Galaxy one hue is more likely to envelop most others, except in BB they're more 'solid', more bright (as even street lights are), and this presumably was made so life could be felt emanating from, mainly Hideyoshi, but also societies at large.

While BB does not explore everything that may be as most other sci-fi do (e.g. Kaiba, about memories, but then again how tall players are is more relevant than their memories in a game), it is still very much solidified as a background in its multitudes - architectural sci-fi, if such a genre were to exist.

Both MC's are short and are underestimated for their size, but they have amazing talent and skill to over come it. Both MC's hate to lose and will do whatever it takes to be the best. The two series show a heart warming display of friendship and teamwork through the good and the bad times. As the story unfolds both MC's become stronger and stronger with all the hard work and dedication.
