Gibiate is an anime that never quite reaches the potential which a project that was the result of artist collaboration (Yoshitake Amano and others involved) could have been.
The main element that sets the story apart from other monster-horror is the characters transported from the Warring States period, which on paper sounds great, what's not to like about a ninja, a samurai and monk slaying monsters in modern Japanese post-apocalpytic setting.

Pacing is where Gibiate suffers the most. Flashbacks or background exploration are great to flesh out a character's motivations or personality, however Gibiate makes the odd choice to follow a cliffhanger episode with these opening ...

A samurai and a ninja from the early Edo period travel together through time and arrive in a ruined Japan with monster.

From watching this, you can kinda tell it is all meant to be kinda like a joke.
When the main heroine meet the samurai and the ninja, and they tell they are from the Edo time, she responds pretty much with "cool, the worlds gone to shit, there are monster everywhere, so why not also time traveling Samurai, oh, and my mother have lost her mind"

Later on the heroine wanna spice up their outfit, in which she color the ninjas hair blue, and add belts ...

Mixed Feelings
Honestly, i discovered that people didn't like this series throught Ex-arm's reviews. Honestly, nothing really bother me that much, if not that the plot was predictable, as any shounen that we all know, and that the fights are meh, but not that bad as to be compare to ex-arm's ...
Or maybe is it because that i listen way more than watch anime ? Anyways, my 6 is a 100% feeling about this show, meaning that, i didn't found any enjoyment in this, but is wasn't that bad all along. I still watch it from the beggining to the actual end. Worst part would be ...
