Kidou Senshi Gundam 00 Second Season

Gundam 00 isn't as good as code geass but there were multiple times where i felt as though i'd seen the same thing in code geass, in gundam Setsuna believes he can change the world with the power of a gundam, and in CG leluch believes he can change the world with Geass, both shows have losses that the main character and everyone aroud must go through, death and suffering. 

The closest thing to a modern reimagining of Zeta Gundam is the second season of Gundam 00. Both series take place after important historic events; Zeta Gundam takes place after the One Year War with a Federation victory over Zeon, Gundam 00 takes place after the world super powers unite into the Earth Sphere Federation, making a common enemy out of Celestial Being and apparently eradicating war. In these worlds are totalitarian military organisations intended to keep the mistakes of the past from repeating but ironically end up doing just that; the Titans in Zeta Gundam were founded to prevent space independence movements like Zeon yet commit much of the same atrocities that Zeon did and the A-Laws in Gundam 00 "keep the peace" by means of violence. Zeta Gundam focuses on space-based AEUG and Earth-based Karaba fighting the Titans whereas 00 similarly has Celestial Being and Katharon fighting the A-Laws. There is also a lot of betrayal and characters/factions pulling the strings of others in both series. read more 

STARDUST DRAGON! 00 RAISER! SHOOTING SONIC AND 00 RAISER! Just like their previous seasons, the world is saved but through a twisted way all thanks to a secret organization who used their pawns to change the impact. Yusei and Setsuna must fight for the sake of the future and everybody through their supernatural powers. 

Both have flashy action sequences and the fight to save the world except that Gundam 00 is darker than Bleach. Fighting involves giant blasts and sword fighting. Setsuna vs Graham fight is similar to Ichigo vs Ulquiorra. 

Both had a team (Teikoku Kagekidan and Celestial Being) trying to stop evil (Koumas and A-LAWS) from destroying the world. Both Sakura and Setsuna excel in melee combat, as both of their mechs were designed for close quarter combat. 

Groups (Undertakers and Celestial Being) fight tyrannical organizations (GHQ and A-Laws) to save the world from oppression. Supernatural powers are involved (Void and Innovator powers) as well as mechas. A lot of drama, suspense, and twists involved. 

00 2nd season's duo Setsuna and Saji are just like Clare and Raki. Saji lost his sister and Raki lost his brother and uncle in the show only to lead them to team up with Setsuna and Clare who are stoic. Similar conclusions but action packed as well. 

Both series have a lot in common- -Deconstruction and Reconstruction throughout the story -Main characters want to achieve peace (Yuya with cards and Setsuna with Gundam) -Group of fighters fighting against an unknown force who oppresses freedom -Twists and Asspulls occur out of nowhere 

The second season of Gundam 00 reminded me a lot of Votoms. Apart from the fact that both are mecha/military anime produced by Sunrise, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the transhumanist themes explored in them. The differences behind Innovade/True Innovators and Perfect Soldier/Overman are quite similar, and Setsuna and Chirico are very similar characters. 

Power to change the world (servants and gundams), dark tone, suspense, gritty, drama, action, and a full scale battle (holy grail war and armed interventions 

Deconstruction of the genre is the point of both shows that sets them apart from the other shows with the same genre. They are both dark and have the heroes fight to save the world but at the same time deal with reality and psychological development. 

Conflict between Celestial Being and Earth Sphere Federation is similar to Vulture and United Nations Earth. Mecha action, drama, character development, and romance involved.  

Definitely watch this if you liked mobile suit gundam. Personally I liked full metal panic better because of the settings. Full metal panic's conflicts and battles seem more realistic. Yes there is mecha's but this deals with things like nuclear weapons, political attacks, demand and request etc etc. While mobile suit gundam 00 goes to unrealistic things like the linear train, space battles, and more. Nonetheless, both are great animes and I liked them both. 

Both are sequel series that take place several years from their predecesor series. They both are great sci-fi with great stories if you have watched this series I would have to recomend you Gundam 00 Season 1 and 2 

giant robots awsome animation great story couldn't ask for anything else 

Both are giant robot animes! FLCL makes references to Gundam and other random animes. (FLCL is funnier though!) 

Both anime are filled with mecha action and more. The Mecha animation is in both series great. In both Gode Geass and Gundam 00 are people that believe they can change the world. Both anime have the second season/movie better the the first part. 

Both series give the same message and are equally entertaining to watch. 

Both series involve the second half of the story with defeat and uprising of the main characters as well as some new upgrades. 

Characters fight to change the world back to the way it was against an enemy who changed it. Dark and gritty tone increased as well as suspense.
