Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S

It's rare to see such an amazing anime adaptation from the manga, but I'm glad to see that after the arson attack on Kyoto animations studio they've come back stronger than ever.

Many people frown upon this show for shallow and bogus claims about how it only climbed to be popular because of the art style, the over-sexualization of the girls but they obviously haven't watched this as this is nothing less than a masterpiece. In fact better in so many regards from season 1.

Story:
The story of dragon maid S builds upon the story from the first season, but they've somehow made it over 5 ... times more interesting! It's so overwhelming wholesome, every single scene, every group of characters have such exhilarating chemistry among them. From Shouta and Luco's haram yet soft and understanding love for each other, from Koboyashi and Tohru's love-hate relationship, and most especially Kanna and saikawas relationship has been greatly built up from the first season 1.

The Art:
The art has exceeded my expectations, and even after the arson attack on Kyoto animation studio, They have come back so much stronger.

The sound:
The opening is the best they've chosen by far with fhana Supreme. They were able to capture the entire essence of the slice of life/fantasy elements within the song and honestly, they've been able to carry on the momentum over to every single character and episode.

The characters are extremely well written, conversations are cute, yet extremely wholesome and down to earth. I can't even explain how good they've made this anime, I'm literally lost for words The inclusion of LLulu is not at all a bad one, at first she seems extremely 2D but as I see more of her, I'm able to formulate a personality for her in my head. She has been written extremely well, I wish they had included a better friendship w her and Tohru and the gang but I can't expect too much.

Kobayashi's Maid Dragon delivered a heartwarming and well-executed first season; it didn't lose any steam in the second.

In season 2 we get a new character, Ilulu, who also comes to Earth from the Chaos Faction. However, the focus ends up not really being on her. Instead season 2 develops the existing cast to a deeper level, exploring how their past drives their motivations and their love for Kobayashi, the one who told them it was okay to be vulnerable.

A critical part of why this show is able to deliver such emotional scenes, whether it's comedic or sad, is definitely the animation. KyoAni continues ... to show why it's one of the top dogs in the industry, sparing no expense at creating beautifully animated atmospheres and even fight scenes. Without this many scenes would fall flat or carry less impact.

It's difficult to describe this show's plot as there really isn't much of one, yet somehow each episode makes you yearn for the next. You relate to these silly characters on a very human level; none of them are caricatures or unrealistic. I found myself rooting for each of their successes and happiness, like a proud parent. The comedy flows naturally without having to rely on over the top situations; the sobering scenes do as well, as this season explores more of each dragon's past.

Overall, Kobayashi is a fantastic show with everything you'd want from a slice of life, and it certainly helps that the art and music is beautiful. Fans of season 1 will be delighted to continue the story with this season.

In February 2019, a sequel series was announced for the hit anime Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, a mashup of isekai fantasy, comedy, and slice-of-life with solid themes of family and society. The premise almost reads like an otaku wishlist: What if a dragon turned into a buxom maid and lived in modern Japan? The answer, of course, is a lot of slapstick, boob jiggle, and Kobayashi talking sense into all-powerful mythical beasts.

Then on July of that year, the main office of Kyoto Animation was attacked, killing the director, Yasuhiro Takemoto, among several others, in the middle of what was presumably preproduction.

It could not have been easy ... to pick up the pieces of the preproduction work and see it through to broadcast, even with a month or two hiatus and a worldwide outpouring of support. But you get the sense that Kyoto Animation wanted to accomplish two things with this production: First, to bring the laughter and tears of good entertainment to everyone who suffered loss (particularly poignant considering the outbreak of the global pandemic less than a year after the attack), and second, to memorialize those lost in that incident.

Not only did KyoAni succeed in both objectives, they delivered a production that raised the bar. I have to agree with many comments online that the fight scenes in this show easily outclass those from many action anime. The soundtrack expands on the mostly light-hearted music from season 1 to include epic battle themes and the kingdoms in the dragons' world, and the manga was followed pretty much dead-on but with the visual touch that only this studio can bring. This is the pinnacle of professionalism and perseverance in the aftermath of such tragic loss.

Tatsuya Ishihara was brought on as director, and since he's directed Nichijou, Haruhi, and Clannad, I'd say he's the best guy for the task, and the results speak for themselves.

At long last the world has been blessed with a sequel season of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and while some fans may have been surprised by changes in season 2, I was overjoyed with the work that KyoAni presented us with.

Most of that same quality from the first season is there. Really if you watched the first season you know what to expect. Repetitive yet well used slice of life background music, a lovely color palate, and the excellent character designs adapted from the manga are all still here.

What may be ... an unexpected change to some is the shift in structure. The show was adapted very differently than the source material in the first season which had a general overarching narrative without too many plot lines going on at one time. Season two on the other hand takes a much more direct approach to its adaptation with each episode being a few chapters of the manga. This shifts the feeling of the show from a more slice of life presentation to an almost gag comedy show as we hopped around to individual interactions between characters. I didn’t really mind this change and enjoyed seeing the chapters of the manga adapted faithfully. I was hoping to see certain major character arcs covered in the show but outside of the Iruru arc and Tooru/Elma arc the show stuck to mostly inconsequential chapters. That said we got a little of everyone. Kanna, Saikawa, Shota, Lucoa, and even Fafnir and Takiya all got plenty of time on screen and that’s just great.

Fhána freaking killed it with the OP and the ED was good too, I guess. I don’t think anything will top season one’s Ishukan Communication. It’s one of my favorite songs. Ever. Period. But I still really loved the music in this season and it just ties the whole perfect product up with a tidy bow.

This is the first completed anime season produced by Kyoto Animation since the tragic massacre at their studio. I struggle typing this review even now without crying, but it’s less so the pain from all that was lost and more tears of happiness. Happiness that despite all the tragedy KyoAni can still create something pure and heartwarming like Dragon Maid. Thank you and good night.

PERFECT!!!!

at the start of the second season they throw in some bits to make it easier to ease back into the dragon maid mood.

Then a few episodes later we get what we all wanted.... THE LORE OF THE SERIES! And let me tell you. It does not disappoint. But I'm not gonna spoil that for you.

Most every character got their own dedicated episode which was fantastic, making sure your favorite out of the main cast got their chance to shine.

The art has gotten a MAJOR upgrade from the first season. But it's nothing distracting and it still feels like the same series. It's one of those things where it's like "this is WAY better, but I can't put my finger on how...."

My only REAL complaint is the lack of Ilulu. She got a little less "main screen time" then I would have liked. Partly because she's newest to the cast but also because I feel like the was the main selling point of season 2.

Aside from that the series is PERFECT! 10/10

I'm actually quite impressed with the level of continuity this season of Kobayashi achieves. This series is a masterclass in revealing the depth and balance that animes in the SOL genre can achieve. From the memey fan service to the character and plot development that SOL animes don't usually demonstrate, the writers of this anime really do it justice by providing the anime with a beautiful balance of comedy, plot, character development and fan service.

In a sense, the plot is too good as it feels lowkey rushed since it could have probably been extended as the buildup to this big revelation in episode 11 could ... be further extended upon by building it up in prior episodes more thoroughly. However, considering the nature of SOL, it’s understandable that it's pretty difficult to squeeze everything in and I think it’s justified in Kobayashi as it does serve as an extra layer of depth to this already stacked SOL.

The fanservice and comedic scenes can sometimes be overdone whether it be Saikawa having a reaction to Kanna or Lucoa being “overly friendly” towards Shouta. However, it’s not to the extent that it’s uncomfortable and although it’s seeming intention is to brighten the mood, it can sometimes come across as too much, adding to the already bright series, however, these are justified due to the nature of the SOL genre.

I don’t have much to say about the art and animation. It's all S tier and super consistent (opinion based), but I really enjoyed all the unnecessary fight scenes, and I believe the artists all worked really hard bringing all those flames, dirt, and flower petals together (esp in the final episode amongst all those cherry blossom trees).

The character development towards the end is also really sweet, and I really like how they included Kobayashi’s sense of ‘unworthiness’ and unbelonging. It takes a step back from all the fantasy-like partying and sort of steps down to reality, bringing a sense of despair to the viewer as no one wishes to experience those feelings of loneliness. It’s good that they attempted to clear up these mixed feelings and took the time to talk it through. Although there is certainly untapped potential regarding the overall ‘plot’ as it could definitely be explored through the ‘other dimension’, I find that the conclusion to the series was actually quite successful in closing out all these unanswered questions (partially). I’m super impressed by the level of detail this series achieved, although the series is considered to be an SOL, the series sets itself apart by displaying an intricacy that isnt commonly seen among SOL series’.

Overall, I find the series to be one of the best amongst the SOL genre, and I thoroughly enjoyed being introduced to all the characters of the series and getting to be a part of watching.

Purposely,I'll touch about Kyoto Animation arson attack. It is sad news. Way of saying may be wrong, talented producers was killed by a man. About man stop talking. A important part is a recovery.

We can guess that this work is good as second starting for Kyoto Animation. New character, Ilulu is a tame and not violent by Kobayashi, but beginning was violent. Main characters is changed for a person. Its change is good or no……? it doesn't know.
For, example Fafnir is not charging by Kobayashi. He was changing by hobby and a little Takiya.

A human being is weak. In the dragon's world , it ... is same. They thought that human beings was something interesting, but it is just. And, they were attacked to "interesting" part of human beings. It was just a hobby for the dragon. For one dragon, it was a person. For one dragon, it was foods. It is all made by human beings.
Everyday continues.

Opening was also great for me. Actually, I heard full many times during 2021's summer.

"All living things are like message. Please cast on my future forever show me it. When you hold hands with me I feel like I love you."

There will never be a show like Dragon Maid. I would never imagine that a sequel would make me wanna love the prequel even more. Dragon maid S has been a joy ride for me. I have been waiting every week and watching every second of the show. It feels like im in their universe and honestly feels like ik the characters personally.

i have never enjoyed the ost(opening sound track) more. it gives an old school anime ost vibe which brings back memories. i have never skipped the ost and havent regretted it spending hours listening to them.

the second season tried to dive in the story of Illulu and at the same time concentrating or id say giving time to each of the existing characters which was done beautifully. So if i'd say about the story without giving spoilers, then its a vanilla slice of life which is toooo wholesome to exist.




kanna is too cute omfg

Easily the best anime I've seen recently. This show takes what's good from the first season and kicks it up a notch, especially in the art department. The frames are beautiful and detailed, and the expressions on each character are vibrant. Additionally the editing, timing of closeups, cutaways, and subtle movements of the character demonstrate the skill of the producers in telling an emotionally rich story without spelling everything out for the viewer. Also don't forget the excellent voice acting. I enjoyed every single episode of Kobayashi and co.'s adventure even more than the first season.

This half of Dragon Maid focuses less on Tohru and ... Kobayashi's romance than the first season, leaving us without a strong throughline of plot. Instead we get a wonderful collection of short stories, with some overlapping themes. This is a perfectly good way to tell a good story, but I personally prefer a more traditional structure. Without a central story to hold the season together, the romance got rushed a bit at the end (although it did end up in a wonderful place), but it never felt insincere. All said, I think Dragon Maid S is more interesting and more charming than its predecessor, which is saying quite a lot. Anyone with an inkling of interest in slice-of-life anime should watch both seasons of Dragon Maid.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S is a direct sequel of the first season and explores more about how our favourite maid, as well as other dragons from her world, continue to adjust to the human world. I'll assume you've seen the first season for the purposes of this review.

Story & Character: Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S doesn't take long to get going and, right away, introduces us a new dragon to our cast, Ilulu. She's very aware to how Tooru is living with a human and does everything in her power to get in the way. Past this, much of the story ... then takes time to show us how all of the supporting cast from the first season are doing. Everyone gets a fair bit of a screen time and they mix up who appears in each arc quite a bit. I really liked how they went about this because it's never focused on one particular character too much. One character may be focused on in a couple episodes back to back, but maybe we see three others interacting within the same few episodes. It's really well done and how character-focused stories really should about their story structure.

We see a very healthy amount of screen time given to each of our characters, whether they are dragon or human. Even Tooru's father and Mr. Magatsuchi get some screen time, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Our characters, human and dragon alike, continue to develop, with Tooru and Kobayashi obviously being the focus in the first few and final few episodes. Watching the dragons, in particular, learn more and more about human world adds so much to their character, such as Elma wanting to improve Kobayashi's working conditions and Fafnir wanting to give his works another try. Lucoa wasn't a character I was terribly enamored with in the first season, and I'd say she gets less screen time here. Ilulu is the main new addition to this series and past the first few episodes, she's not too heavily involved in the story. I mostly liked where they took her character, and she's yet another dragon who wants to learn more about the human world. What pushes this is her backstory, which was really nicely laid out to us.

The finale to this series is absolute perfection. I'm a bit of a sucker for series that involve the particular setting that they went for before the final scene, and they clearly take their time with this, which I really appreciated. There are times when the series gets a little too silly and heavy on fan-service, especially when Ilulu gets involved and might be my real only criticism that I have for the story itself. (Story: 9/10, Characters 9/10)

Art: It still amazes me at the kind of detail a series that isn't action-focused has on it's action scenes. It's extremely impressive, though maybe I shouldn't be with Kyoto Animation's reputation being on the rise, as of late. Even the main poster looks amazing, possibly the prettiest I've seen on MAL to date. It really goes to show going the extra mile is worth it. (10/10)

Sound: The OST is fine though I wouldn't say many of the tracks stood out. I wasn't really a fan of either the OP or ED. Voice cast were, once again, very strong with Sarah Wiedenheft (Tooru) still being the standout. Newcomer Kristi Rothrock (Ilulu) was a welcomed addition, someone whose work I'm actually really unfamiliar with. Macy Anne Johnson (Shouta) replaced Alison Viktorin after the latter's retirement, but this was a seamless transition. (9/10)

Overall Enjoyment: Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S is a successful sequel to the well-liked Dragon Maid season that came before it. It's characters are fantastic and watching them adjust to the world of the humans is a joy to watch. It's really hard for me to pinpoint if I liked the first or second season more because they both had such a strong showing. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing! As wacky as the plot for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S sounds, give it, and it's prequel a try if you haven't seen it! (9/10)

And I was given exactly what I wanted!

The term "limited animation" is tossed around a lot when referring to anime. But watching this one, it sure doesn't feel like it sometimes. Stills don't exist in KyoAni land.

Every corner is filled with unique, stylish character animation, from smears to weird style changes to ridiculous Nichijou-level sakuga. And the quality never, ever drops.

Infectious soundtrack, awesome performances by the entire cast. Ilulu is a great addition to the lineup and fills her ... own niche.

And at the heart of it all, a sugar-sweet slice of life story that is still able to get dramatic at appropriate points. Stellar pacing.

Having Dragon Maid back feels like a victory for anime. I think this slice of life show bringing smiles to a worldwide audience is the perfect response to the hateful crime committed against the animation studio that nearly ended this anime series for good. It's a triumph that they were able to come back and answer to that with something so defiantly cheerful. I can't even imagine what the people who helped bring this finished product to us had to go through, but the animation is as stellar as Kyoto Animation has ever been, showing they really poured a lot of love into it.

I just ... love watching the interactions between these characters. I thought the flashback backstory stuff was mildly interesting, but honestly I don't need to know more about the fantasy land they come from or the different factions they're supposed to represent, I just like watching the funny dragons trying to do people things. Kanna continues to be adorable and steals every scene she's in, Ilulu is a fun new addition to the cast and the place where she gets a job provides a lot of new opportunities for comedy.

So this homecoming for KyoAni was, I think, a huge success and a must watch for anyone who likes slice of life, comedic yuri subplots, and magically induced penis growth. 9/10

In my opinion, this season is definitely a much better season than the first one. First of all, it answers (almost) all the questions I had after watching the first season. The character's stories make how they act in this season and the one before make much more sense. The anime isn't too predictable, which is something that in my personal opinion, enjoy. The characters are amazing and have their own unique personality and quirks that aren't too overdone (unlike the first season.) Definitely a good anime to watch if you want to watch an anime that is wholesome, sometimes emotional, and a tiny bit ... of action in it. This is for you.


Oh, and how can I not mention the controversial character Ilulu (or however you spell it.) She's a great character, her personality is that of a child, but at the same time, it's that of an adult. I can definitely see how her debut was controversial but I personally don't care. She adds an extra element to the story that cannot be shown in the first season.


It's overall a very funny, nice to watch when you have nothing to do, relaxing, interesting anime to watch. Definitely reccomend!

"Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon", the highly successful and popular animated comedy series, is back again with a new season, "Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S"! Just like the first season, this season still maintains the right combination of heart and humor to draw crowds into it. And of course, the characters we all love are still there as adorable as ever!

This time we are introduced to some new characters, However, the most important of ... them is Ilulu, who eventually end up living with miss Kobayashi just like Tohru and Kanna. Not only does this season offer us the present and daily life of miss Kobayashi and her community, but it shows us the past and secrets of so many characters which make the characters look so much deeper and you can't help but end up sympathizing with them. It is also worth mentioning that, the series has surprisingly shown us some worthwhile characters development.

Oh did I not mention the outstanding art and animation? Hopefully, the anime didn't decline in visual quality at all! In fact, it is gotten better. The combat scenes and animation were extra marvelous 🔥

Anyway, if you liked the first season of "Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon", this sequel isn't by anyway inferior! In fact, I enjoyed it more than the first season. So, If you liked the first season definitely give this a shot🔥! Enjoy💖

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is one of my favorite slice of life for its combination of witty humor, introspective heartwarming moments, and fun characters. However, I was concerned about season 2 for a few reasons.

First, alot of the interactions in Season 1 hinged on the dragons being unfamiliar with the human world. This gets old as the characters become more accustomed to the world. More importantly, however, is from the replacing of Yasuhiro Takemoto, who directed season 1 and the Haruhi franchise, with Tatsuya Ishihara, who directed Nichijou and Sound! Euphonium. While I love Sound! Euphonium, I am not a big fan of Nichijou's humor ... and thus was afraid that the series would go in the wrong direction.

Therefore, I'm happy to say that Season 2 meets the bar of Season 1, exceeding it in some aspects.

I will note that the shift is very noticeable from Season 1 and Season 2. From the Nichijou-inspired OP to the fluid fight animations to the patented short, random skits, Kobayashi Maid Dragon S isn't afraid to wear its Nichijou influence on its sleeve. However, where Nichijou was oftentimes too random, unfocused, with many jokes falling flat for these reasons, the fast paced comedic style allows the eccentric characters to shine.

Specifically, the Nichijou inspired animation is a sight to behold: an improvement from Season 1. Where Season 1 introduced the characters through their unfamiliarity with the new environment, Season 2 uses much more traditional sitcom humor style to explore them further. Some highlights include the amusement park, maid cafe, and safety patrol skits. I I grew to like Elma, Lucoa, and Shota, characters that were a bit lacking in Season 1.

Then, there's the introduction of the two new characters, Illulu and Take. While I wasn't crazy about Illlulu in the beginning, she quickly grew on me. She works well in the context of the themes of the story and is unique enough to provide an extra flair of humor. The hands scene had me dying. take also complements Illulu well, similar to the Saikawa Take dynamic. Im excited to see how their relationship will develop in the future.

My only minor complaint is the increase of "screaming matches" from season 1, similar to Tohru's confrontation wit her father. While I do get they further push the themes of the plot, I think the series is the strongest in its more subtle moments, which Season 2 still has, just less of. It's not super badly done, but it needed to be further developed to have a proper emotional impact. I think using more subtle, quiet scenes would work better while keeping the dialogue during physical fights to a minimum.

Nevertheless, Dragon Maid S is a definite step up from Season 1. The slight misstep in the drama barely prevents this show from being a 10/10 though.

I could see not everyone liking the shift into more in your face, traditional comedy, but for me, it was a refreshing change in the Dragon Maid franchise. While I don't typically write reviews in advance, I am fairly confident that this show will maintain its level of quality from how things are going. I want to push this review out ASAP to convince those on the fence to watch this show. From it's combination of fast paced comedy, heartwarming cuteness, and genuinely emotional, introspective moments, it's really a gem in this season.

What a way to end a season. Kyoani is back guys and they still deliver some rare masterpiece animes. Watching this series somewhat relieve my loneliness and I hope you do too. This slice of life anime will always have a special place in my heart. 9/10 recommended if you are a slice of life genre lover.

All episodes are enjoyable. Every character is cute. The art style men, it's just really worked out so well. The color palette in the whole anime is so vibrant that will relax your eyes. The fighting animation is a lot better than most shonen animes, considering this is a ... slice-of-life anime.

Nothing to say much. Just enjoy the show. Lots of real-life lessons. that's all!

This second season is more about the backstories of Tohru (mainly) and the other dragons (in a minor way).

Unlike the first season, this anime looks more into the dephts feelings of the characters than into the funny cliches of the tipical slice of life anime which made the perfect slice of life I've ever seen till now. Just missed the beach episode (yes, we had it in season 1 but why not another round?).

Also, in my opinion, Ilulu could appear more, you can seen her in the firsts episodes and in that one in which she gets a job at the candy store but that's ... all except for some random appears of 30 seconds.

The return of Kobayashi's Dragon Maid has a weak beginning but manages to regain its footing and end as strongly as the previous season.

The story was definitely in particular started out quite roughly, especially with that very questionable second episode and just too much Lucoa for comfort, not just that but a second character existing solely to for bouncy boobie-esque fanservice gets added, reducing the show's appeal significantly. Thankfully by the second half of the show, our main three come back to the show's forefront (Kanna centered episodes are akways a delight) and Tohru's relationship with Elma is explored further as well as Tohru's ... past, her perception of humans as it evolved throughout her life and how it eventually led her to Kobayashi.

What I like about this show is how our main characters are able to develop without the show losing its heartwarming, SOL-sort of feel, which is honestly quite rare as media often seems make us believe they have to choose. I found myself laughing at Tohru's same insane antics while marveling at how much her character had grown in just two seasons.

In terms of overall quality, KyoAni has never disappointed me, specifically in terms of art and sound, it really doesn't get any better than that, it's funny to see a dumb show about a dragon maid with insane animated fights but here we are. Voice acting's good too. Honestly, my only complaint would be two specific subplots I didn't really care for but they both happened in the first 6 episodes.

All in all, definitely worth watching. I give it an 8/10

I enjoyed this season. It had great music and obviously amazing art and animation from Kyoto and a decent storyline that wraps up nicely. I would say I even enjoyed it more than the first season. HOWEVER, with the addition of Ilulu, the tastelessly disproportionate loli, it's really hard to go ahead and say that this season is worth the watch even though I genuinely liked it.

I respect Kyoto for faithfully adapting the designs of all the characters from Cool-kyous Manga series, but when Cool-kyou's degeneracy just goes too far (Ilulu) it really dampens the experience. Apparently Kyoto did a ... good job reducing the sexual content in the anime adaptation so... yeah. Hell, she's so weirdly proportioned even the other anime girls are calling her out. It's disappointing because I actually do like Ilulu's character in the show. I just hate her design.

She becomes pretty much a side character at some point so it's not really a huge deal, though there are a bit too many "boob size" gags throughout the season mostly concerning her. If she had normal proportions (at least by anime standards) then I wouldn't have any major criticisms of this show. Though I do have minor criticisms concerning Lucoa and Shouta, and Kanna and Saikawa gags being generally overdone and unfunny. Other than those, I really like the show.

Good season, big tits loli sours it a bit but if you can bear through her cringe design, she doesn't actually ruin the (mostly) wholesome and fun story. Characters are great, arcs are satisfying and characters (mostly) show a good amount of development. Kyoto does not miss with art and animation.

Dragons..... Dragons are pretty awsome. My favorite movie from my childhood is called "How to train your dragon". But dragons are mostly depicted in Europe as these big beast who breath fire. In chinese mythology they are depicted as these long but very wise creatures, and in Japan? They are cute anime maids, yes I am not joking. This anime is my favorite anime of this season.

At first glance it looks like your typical harem show where there these girls with massive breast and zero personality but your wrong, dead wrong in fact. This anime surely subverts the harem genre because the one with a ... harem is a woman, and she is not surround by guys. Nope only lustful dragons with lots of personality. So this is one of the few scenarios where bot the male/female watchers win. But this show isnt only ass or tits but rather just extremely adorable or enjoyable. Well you could see some scenes as that, in the grand scheme of things I dont really think I watch this show because of that. This show has a way of writing that is both unique and compelling. The relations of these characters like Thoru and Elma are extremely well written that most shonen like Demon Slayer struggle at. Yes a SOL has better writing then most shonen i am dead serious. But not only that the characters in this show are also extremely awsome.

They all have some quirks and very distinctive personalities and all diferent but amazing designs. And I know that some of these characters may not be your cup of tea because of their design or their personality. But I really like them all, and yes even Fafnir. The way how the author writes these characters are just mostly interactions between characters and some times some sort of backstory to flesh a character out. Luckily the author knows that backstories arent the only way to write your characters unlike an other show. But for Example the newly introduced character Ilulu that had a "special" design. I already liked  her after like 2 episodes becuase of the interactions she had with the characters and she blends in with the cast very well. The other characters like Kanna are as cute as ever and the other characters are just as fun as last season. This anime does expand their universe in meaningful ways and its also fun to see characters like Kanna in NY because she had a fight with Koboyashi, lol these scenarios are so random but still makes lots of sense regarding the anime we are watching.

This is one of the few animes that made wednesday a better day then friday. All because of this anime with dragon Waifu's and fun adventures that subvert the echi genre to the point where it doesnt seem right to say this show is indeed an echi. But I did enjoy it a lot. And I mean a lot, I am truely happy for seeing this show back from its former glory.

Talking about how this show looks and feels, its fantastic. The fights are so epicily animated that this show is just a middle finger to most shonen fights. The lightning truely captures the SOL feeling and the background looks amazing as hell. The water effects are also pretty cool and the faces are extremely expressive and how everything looks its just damn clean really amazing.

Talking about voice actors and the songs this show just doesnt hold back at all. All the actors have amazing voices and totally suite their character. Well I normally I am not the biggest fan of both Op's and Ed's but this show had both absolute bangers. Its pretty much inspired by "Blend S" but still I really like them. Maybe my favorite ending of this season. The OP  is a hard choise because of the masterpiece called [Analogy], but I still really liked the "Ai No Supreme". Ok the rap part is also epic I forgot.

I give this anime a 9 Thoru's dragon Tails out of 10. Damn, this show is refreshing...
