The Flying Luna Clipper

This ova is underrated among anime fans, when I saw rating on this site I thought it’s gonna be feeble, but I was so wrong, gladly it’s more well regarded by western media fans, and this movie is really special for me as a person that grew up watching pixel arts and Vaporwave graphics art on tumblr, the only thing I can say about art, it’s amazing and beautiful, colors and concepts are incredible typical for 80s, full of colors and bizarre and characters design is cool, unique and also really detailed, with no doubt I can proudly say it’s strong suit for this movie.
second ... tremendous thing In this film is definitely music, really catchy completing the series, plot is weird like a really trippy dream but also strangely cosy, if you look for tropical surreal themes it’s definitely for you.
I can only guarantee you flying Luna clipper is something all it’s own, experience that is unable to find in others series, it’s just oddly good, weirdly nostalgic

I cannot believe this hasn't been used in countless vaporwave works yet. A lot of stuff is called proto-vaporwave or original vaporwave but this is actually unironically vaporwave before vaporwave. The pixel art is beautiful, the characters are perfectly wacky and the weirdness is so wonderful I just can't even with this movie.
The comparisons to old school educational computer games are spot on. It truly feels like you just started up the weirdest Carmen Sandiego game ever made. It also has me thinking about Kenny Lauderdale's video "What is anime?". Because I honestly can't tell if this is anime. It's a Japanese animation yet its ... got numerous live action shots as well. Whatever it is it's wonderful and belongs on this site.

This is art but only the guy who looks like a sea cucumber. In Germany we call it Seegurke.

I was amazed by how well it was wiritten. But the clips with the divers feel kinda out of story... but maybe i just have to watch it again.

It really was an interesting experience. The animation was really fluent... ufotable is nothing aganist it.

... Character: 2

The sea cucumber was amazing but he hasn't shown any development in the series. The other characters were a little out of place...but this is due to the "Seegurke" who overshadowed the others with his great performance. But the quotes from the characters in the show were just breathtaking.. like "I'm a greatest dreamer"- the melon or "Will it fly"- the pilot.
