This was surely, no matter the point of view, a surprisingly original and clever way of trying to teach the viewers a little bit of shogi, specially for kids and teens.
Story, art and characters. Notice that it’s a hard work to adapt something as complex as shogi. And, on top of that, the chances are this game was completely unknown to most of the viewers outside Japan. Even so, they managed to create something fun and simple to understand.
