Story-driven thrillers, well researched historical shows, brilliant world-constructions, poetic narrations, gripping thrillers, dark comedies, complex future visions, tightly packed action, avant-garde art, solid entertainment, tear-jerking dramas to light-hearted slices of lives.
No big-boob dumdums, high-pitched VAs, fan-/lip-service or plot-around-the-holes-type shows. Teenage angst and school-settings are rarities in these two lists.

When I first started watching anime, I thought anime was basically a kind of animation with a unique art style. But now I am seeing that most anime comes with a lot of tropes, and a lot of people see these tropes as part of anime. I am not a fan of these tropes, so I am making a list of anime that I like, and I feel have a relatively low amount of tropes, at least compared to most other anime. I still haven't watched a lot of anime, for example - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. But I will add more anime as I watch them.

These shows are my all-time favourites that only feature female characters as main casts. Sure, most of them will just boil down to "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things", but don't let that keep you away from watching these and just relax - just settle down on your chair, wet from your swamp ass.

Post-apocalyptic titles in different genres worth watching.

This is not exhaustive collection of titles that have post-apocalyptic wibes, it's just my collection of essential titles I would recommend to anybody who will ask me for recommendations.

Anime that great and not popular enough

Forget the reality and enjoy your dreams.

Slice of life, comedy, romance and sometimes drama without aggressive plot twists. This collection contains lots of titles with moe and school genres.

Anime with an intriguing, immersive, rich, or otherwise memorable atmosphere. Usually a combination of artistic, imaginative visuals, distinctive music, a slowish pace, and cryptic, emotional, and/or philosophical dialogue. Atmospheric doesn't necessarily mean good, though.

Anime with a world setting so unrealistic they make you question reality and/or a story so crazy they turn your head upside down.

I rated all shows regarding "craziness" of setting and story from 1(lowest) to 5(highest).
The higher the 'overall' rating the better the experience.
Every show that has been marked with a * in the 'overall' rating is a personal recommendation.
I also left a few notes regarding watching experience, all spoiler free.
It's hard to find shows that match the criteria so there are a few Anime in here which only partly belong here.
