Jikan no Shihaisha

Why the high rating? Okay it wasn't the best, but I still enjoyed it until the end! Jikan no Shihaisha had its good and bad moments. I'm a sucker for stories dealing with family, especially tragic ones and I think that's one of the main reasons I was drawn to this anime. Tbh, I had high expectations because I felt that the story had a lot of potential, especially after watching the first episode: Tragic Family Background + Ikemen/Bishounen + Time Eating Monsters + Action + Gambling Elements + Jazzy Music/Hyped OP/Beautiful ED ?! Count me in!

I even said that it was ... going to be my favorite anime of the season but, that was in episodes 1-2 ^^; I think my opinion changed after the new characters were introduced. After that, the pacing changed and I felt that maybe they weren't going to be able to resolve everything in just 13 episodes. Maybe it was because there was so much they could do with that amount of episodes, or maybe the manga is just bad, I don't really know. Nonetheless, that wasn't enough of a reason for me to drop it. To me it's either I like it or I don't. If I don't like it then I drop it, simple as that. If I finish an anime until the end, then that means that it was worth my time.

Is there better anime out there? Yes.
Will you miss out if you don’t watch it? Hmm, not really.
Is it worth a try? I think you should try watching a few episodes before deciding whether to keep watching or drop it. If you have the time, then why not? I sometimes end up enjoying anime that most people don't like~ (as you can see from my rating compared to the others hehe)


With that said, I will be reading the manga. Maybe, just maybe, the manga will make up for what the anime lacked. ^_^

Favored namesake non-withstanding I found Chronos Ruler to be enjoyable despite it's short comings in character depth and plot. Let me begin by saying I absolutely love the music in this show and could watch it over and over again based on that facet alone. The Jazzy rifts in episode aren't like any other anime I've watched yet. The opening has it's hard edge but breaks down into the same jazzy notes and the ending is simply beautiful. I like the color palette used and for the most part the art overall is very good in my opinion. The fight scenes with cards are captured ... well not quite sure if they were pure cgi or not but they stood out in a good way.

The characters were all stock for the most part and some of the lines were pretty terrible with that said the story itself wasn't earth shattering either. The first episode left me on a cliff hanger that I thought would be built on a bit more substantially. The villains one after another come off as generic with their motivations. Some emotion is still elicited from their background stories at times so it's not all for naught. Their is a bit more character development near the end of the season and makes for some touching moments. The character interactions are filled with humor
at times and others make little sense.

I watched the dubbed version of this first and am currently viewing the subbed version, so if I feel there's a significant difference. Especially in some of the cliché lines I may update this. Overall though the music and animation made this worth the watch and I'm definitely seeking out this OST if it's ever available.

First I'll start off by saying im not sure why this series garnered such bad reviews and low scores. Maybe it was something lost in the original sub i myself watched it in the dub version so maybe they fixed alot of the issues that the original viewers found with it. But personally ive watched alot of crappy anime and this is far from that. It has an original idea and presents it in a decent fashion. My advice to anyone on the fence go ahead and give it a try yeah sure there are some slow parts but overall the show is good and ... deserves a second season.

I gave this a fair rating because i enjoyed the music and how the characters looked in this anime. that being said the plot and other parts of the story should be fixed. but overall is an Ok anime for me. that being said also it's still your run of a mill anime standard and plain. the series really needs a big fixing there. But like i said its still good. And i commend the people who worked on this anime. Because it's not easy making an anime show. that fits with everyone's standards as a whole.
