Berserk 2nd Season

Both have the same character plot where they have to battle out supernatural entities out to do evil. 

Neither of these are afraid of gore 

Both have protagonists who follow charismatic, exceptionally flawed leaders. Lots of violence, but balanced with equally great storylines. 

The same setting, the same good versus evil plot, except one was more of adventure , and fantasy, while the other has a horror genre in it, also one was based on some MMORPG game while the other is a reboot of the 1990's anime/manga. 

Though the shows are contrasting and different in terms of themes and story, the characters however though share similarities. Yusaku and Guts wants revenge against their arch enemies whom they experienced in their tragic past through any means necessary. Yusaku-Guts Ignis-Puck Revolver-Griffith Knights of Hanoi-God Hand Aoi-Farnese Go-Serpico/Isidoro 

If old berserk wasnt enough and you want more similiar things in that genre. Claymore is kinda good clone of berserk formula with female protagonists. 

Both stories revolve around supernatural elements minus the setting which are the main focus of both plots. Also one char has a rivalry with another char. I find some of the characters to be similar though: Shizuo-Guts Izaya-Griffith 

Dark fantasy show with historical setting and supernatural elements, hero fights against demons and monsters to regain what was taken from him.
