Koinaka: Koinaka de Hatsukoi x Nakadashi Sexual Life The Animation

Pre-review TLDR:
You ever watch a seasonal harem ecchi comedy anime and thought it would be cool if they stopped beating around the bush and just had sex with each other? That's pretty much how i'd describe my experience with Koinaka.

Quality art and animation from none other than the guys at Pink Pineapple studio as they come closer to breaking the boundary between your regular seasonal animes and hentai in terms of overall quality.

There's a lot of scenes in the span of 30minutes the show has to offer, alternating between the two main girls. Vanilla fans, rejoice.

The good:

* The art and animation. First ... of all, i'd say Koinaka's main selling point is how beautiful it looks, both in art and animation. Coupled with the shows instances of plot and comedy, you might actually get sucked in and forget you were watching an episode of hentai.

* The scenes. For the most part, they're basically vanilla all year-round with a couple stuff to spice things up a bit like that one bondage scene aka where her hands were tied up with a piece of cloth or something(i know it's really basic lel), or when they "did it" in the classroom to name some.

* The characters. They're all pretty charming in their own way. The interactions they have are also pretty good and I found myself giggling a bit at some of the instances of comedy and plot.

The bad:

* It's not long enough. Sadly, 1 30-minute episode doesn't quite do it for me. Sure it was pretty good and there were plenty of scenes, but a lot of people are also probably wishing that he had scenes with the yellow-haired girl or probably his imouto too. But that's just a minor complaint.

Things that might turn you off:

Too much vanilla(?)
Peeing (the girl that is)
Quite a lot of x-ray and cross-section shots

Final Verdict:
I still wish he had scenes with the yellow-haired girl but other than that, I quite enjoyed this one a lot. Great art and animation, lots of scenes, cute girls and the simple plot and premise is alright too. Like I said earlier, vanilla fans rejoice. But for the ones looking for something a little more different, this probably won't cut it. But I say, give it a check at least, there's really nothing to lose.

“It’s like off-brand bootleg KyoAni made a hentai” is the first thought I had while watching this show. Which is somehow both a compliment and an insult. Where or where not that particular sort of cute art style lends itself to erotic material is purely subjective.

It really does a surprisingly great job of capturing the moe character archetypes and the KyoAni-esque brand of art style and character design. The animation is nice and natural, and although the cinematography is fairly uninspired, it does it’s job.

Trying to look at it objectively, it has characters with interesting dynamics having vanilla sex, even venturing into some kinkiness and ... fetish-y type situations and dialogue as it progresses — a fun, sex filled harem experience.

But if the art style revolts you with it’s somewhat childish moe appeal, I don’t think the rest will win you back. After all, I’d say it’s inarguable trying to invoke and play into the direct style and feel of shows with that cute aesthetic. For me, it worked, and if you’ve been waiting all your life to see the girls from your generic moeblob harem to finally fuck, it’s recommendable.
