Hand Maid May

It’s rather cute in a way, though full of fan service. They do a lot of panty shots along with dressing scenes. Because of this, I wasn’t able to get fully into the story line like I wanted but it also didn’t seem to know exactly what it wanted to do. I felt the story went all over the place until they finally figured out something to do at the end. The poor guy ends up getting a cute girl that will help him with everything he needs. I have never actually been fond of the story line but at least I could stand this ... one.

It’s a standard harem, where the main character is pretty much a standard nerd that doesn’t stand out and yet all the girls love him. Seriously, the only thing that is different about Saotome is that he’s good with computers and even then, he wasn’t able to figure out that there was a virus on the CD that was given to him. Clearly he isn’t all that smart. The girls are pretty and reminds me of Chi a lot from Chobits although these girls can actually keep a conversation going.

The characters are over simplified and generic. Kazuya is a nerd, who pretty much never had a girlfriend, yet all the girls that see him seem to be drawn to him; Kasumi Tani is a bitchy tomboyish girl that seems to not care if her panties are showing or not with how short her skirts are; and I had to sweet drop when Nandara showed up. He is really flamboyant and over the top. It seems whenever a rich guy shows up, they are like that in these shows. Most of this is very stereotypical of these shows. I’m not really sure about Doraemon’s name and look. He looks like a Digimon and the name is like that as well.

The voices are somewhat annoying in the English dub. I don’t quite like some of the girl’s voices; they are a little too high pitch sounding. In the Japanese, it seemed better though not by much. I do like Nandara, Doraemon, and Kazuya’s voice, Doraemon’s rather more then anyone else’s. It’s just perfect for an android or robot. The music is way too cutesy for me, and sometimes seems not to fit the show sometimes. I think a little more techno would work better. All in all, not the best show in Japanese, worse in English I feel.

This is a charming, but weird show. It's very "of its time". That is to say, I can't remember watching a show that screams 1990's/early 2000's anime this much since Pokemon. Despite never growing up with this show, I felt strangely at home with it. But it has not aged well. You need to go into this show wanting to see an anime that embodies all of the 90s. Otherwise what you'll find is a show with pretty terrible animation, and a barely coherent story.

While you can tell there was love and care put into this show, the creators had to of been just starting ... out. The budget was clearly not there, and they definitely tried to fit too much of the source material in their limited timeframe. What you end up getting is a jumpy mess with some of the editing.

The characters are all tropes, except the main "antagonists", or I guess foils would be a better term. They're like Jessie and James from Pokemon, but if they just did a bunch of crystal meth. At first I couldn't stand the guy one of the duo, but now I kinda think he's the best character. He's literally the only thing I'm probably going to remember about this show - He's insane.

So should you watch it? Well, do you wanna be instantly transported back to the 90s/early 2000's? Then yes.
Otherwise there are a million other shows worth watching.

I really want to say that this movie is not very good because the details in the movie move too fast but it is easy to understand. but that was a big mistake, because not fully exploited the character as personality, the past leading to the film is not attractive.
now it's not so good when it comes to the plot because it moves too fast like in episode 5 you will see May being withdrawn by the company and can't show many satome character expressions and then May is returned and becomes an adult. , ... although coming of age makes me feel quite attractive, but in the end until volume 8. I don't understand what the author is thinking. my brain doesn't work while watching episode 8, it's so logical that even scientists can't figure it out, while leaving the ladder outdoors why don't we leave the ladder indoors instead, it makes me lose iq. But in summary, the plot is quite good, but not tight and not attractive
The character's voice acting is quite invested, so I give it 7 points
The character part is the most telling, because the character has not been fully exploited and happens so quickly that your IQ has not yet increased but the movie is over. And the villain deserves more criticism than praise. Why? because it annoys me every time I watch it, Because the villain is quite retarded, talks a lot, doesn't do anything useful, so it leads to things that are not very interesting. The rest is still normal.
The level of entertainment is indisputable when it was produced in 2002-2003 because at that time the author's imagination did not have many ideas to develop anime, so 2002-2003 was the time when the anime was quite popular with its humor. fun. But so far, the film has been forgotten and not appreciated because the character is too bad by today's youth standards, because now viewers want to see the series with beautiful characters, good ideas.
Overall, I think this movie is just for entertainment, but in fact, this movie has no meaning to life and doesn't help children learn anything. And this movie needs improvement in plot, characters and more to edit
