Want action with little to think about? SAO OS isn't by any means deep nor is it short on action. With stellar SFX and lore up the wazoo, the Fate/ from studio Ufotable delivers that same quality animation and sound with an added bit of story and immense amount of lore taken inspiration from real life historical figures. The Heaven's Feel movies specifically, while not the best place to start (start at fate/zero), bring identical quality to what is experienced in SAO OS and might push you over the edge to actually dig into the Fate/ franchise if you were ever pondering it and vice  read more

The battle system in Ordinal Scale kinda reminds me of P3 Movies, where they fight the "monsters" in a specified time. The main characters also have to deal with similar problems, such as "bond" and "memories". You willl find more similarities in them if you watch P3 Movies till the last part.

Both are original but cannon stories from a franchise that were turned into anime adaptations by A-1 Pictures.
