Goro-chan truly is one of the hidden gems of this century. Sadly underrated, I think this series deserves the highest respects for it's unique animation style and interesting characters
Plot: 10/10
The plot follows a cat and his adventures through the city. How can this be interesting? The anime follows a dark and gritty path with lots of twists, betrayals, and broken hearts. It's a masterpiece that rivals Madoka.
Characters: 10/10
Every character in this anime, that is to say, Goro-chan, is deep and rounded, nicely developed through their experiences and past trauma. This cat has been through a lot and it won't end anytime soon. Yet he sticks
...
up for himself and survives anything thrown his way.
Sound: 10/10
The voice acting in this show is some of the best I've ever heard, with the cat being voiced by none other than Kana Hanazawa. The OST was also breathtaking and original. I could not have asked for more from this series
Art: 10/10
Goro-chan has a very unique artstyle that I haven't seen very often. It reminds me a bit of Serial Experiments Lain. I can't place my finger on it, but something about it is just so gorgeous and yet so simple at the same time.
Goro-chan is a masterpiece of modern fiction. I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to see a dark and gritty story told in just a short amount of time. For alternate anime reccomendations see Madoka, Girls und Panzer, Death Note, and Azumanga Daioh.
