Both are episodic retro looking shows about a character in a suit who goes around punishing people. Most victims are a criticism of a societal trend or human character flaw.

Shady seller gives people sale of something special, but the people are taught a lesson as something inevitably gets out of control.

Death Parade and Warau Salesman both have a main character that's more than what meets the eye and almost omnipotent. Each episode, they deal with a new character with issues of their own, and it always ends in tragedy. Both are equally dark.

In terms of subtle yet episodic plot in nature, tends to stray away against it's personal insight; It almost set off to a disoriented mundane lifestyle with regards to midlife crisis. Based on my perspective, dealing with such greed and desires leads to unnerving conclusion. Designs weren't just your typical run down the mill that includes skeptical dark humor with low-budget short cuts came out in vhs tapes.

Both contain a very sadistic main character who punishes innocent characters trying to survive. Rinse, repeat.

These series consist of episodic stories, in most cases about the lives of male adults. The Ningen Kousaten episodes have a happy ending. The Warau Salesman episodes usually have an unhappy ending.

Warau Salesman is basically a dark take on Doraemon. The characters enounter a problem, and a sci-fi/magical gadget is handed out to them that solves their problem. But in Warau Salesman, there is actually a repercussion to face when using the tool impropedly, when falling for your greed.

A shady character sells a product/service that might seem fantastic at first, but might eventually have an unpleasant outcome.

Spoiler warning! Both these titles feature mostly unlikeable characters, and bad ending(s). If you are tired of all the likeable characters in other shows being nice to each other, check these out. Especially recommended if you need a nice cup of depresso every once in a while.
