These titles are quite different in the way they treat their characters. Idol Densetsu Eriko focuses more on the development of the main character, while The Idolmaster is more about the interactions between the group members. But somehow, The Idolmaster reminded me also of Idol Densetsu Eriko. Both titles are about idols making a career. They sometimes have a serious feel to them, as they touch realistic looking problems. Also the competition is not always fair. If you want to see idols struggling on a sometimes slippery slope to the top, you may be interested in these titles.

Both series deal with idols, although the difference is that Creamy Mami has magical girl elements and is very childish, while Idol Densetsu Eriko is more dramatic and a bit adult. Without a doubt, both are highly recommended.

Eriko Tamura and Joe Kabuki come from opposite corners of the ring/stage if you consider their family background, personality, gender and social status at the beginning of the series, but the stories told in the TV series have some similarities I think. First of all, both protagonists start not all that enthusiastic into their new career, and are rather being pushed than the driving force. Then, they find a liking to what they are doing, which is one motive of pursuing the career in their respective field. A further source of motivation is the competition against their opponents. Both have one major rival (Rei Asagiri for Eriko  read more

It's very similar. Same animation studio. The story of a girl trying to reach her dream. Both Yoko and Eriko wants to be an idol. The animation quality is poor in both animes, but you can enjoy them however!

Legendary Idol Eriko is a classic anime and it has inspired a lot of musical series. One of them is Full Moon. Both animes are about a rising star, an idol. Both girls, Eriko and Mitsuki are fighting against their tragic destiny and their traumas from the past. Both animes have beautiful songs and mix drama, romance and comedy.
