Very similar to each other. Both stories involve humans fighting alien bugs that are taking over the earth. They also both favor character development over actual battles, which can be a let down for some people.

Both series revolves around the theme of mecha and their usage in combat and war. Both series contains an unique relationship between the male and female protagonist. Additionally, the female protagonist in both series are strong and independent figures who can take care of themselves. Both series also contain a little comedy at school and mixes it in with drama, action, and later some emotional factors.

Alien invaders filled the earth. The setting of humanity getting decimated by aliens, losing horribly, being forced to draft kids, and the resulting mecha battles against said aliens are quite similar in style and mood.

Both of these anime have mecha in in but that is not the main focus. You wont see huge battles that last 20 minutes or finale battle where the mecha fight to the death. It is way more of story line driven the people seem more real like you see in real life. These don't glorify war and focuses on the metal aspect of these characters, if you want high pace fighting this not for you.

Both anime are about high school kids fighting off aliens in near identical mech suits to keep the world from ending. Both focus on an entire cast of people involved and the psychological turmoil they go through from being in such a situation. Two of the main characters are near identical in both series and go through a very similar character arc together. Gunparade is clearly inspired by Evangelion and attempting to make a similar experience.

Both stories are slightly about mecha, but actually focus on human drama and romance between characters. Both anime are set in an alternative world where aliens are hunting down humans and only children piloting giant mecha are able to fight back. Although is sounds like a kids show, it actually has adult themes and all actions have heavy consequences including death of mayor characters. Both anime have 2 main characters piloting 1 mecha that actually start falling in love with one another.

These two anime don't feature the same stories, or settings, but what they do share is a similar plot line for the two main characters. One a happy go lucky guy, the other a girl who can't let go over her tragic past. So if you over look the scifi, mecha fighting in Gunparade March. You would basicaly have Suzuka. If one wasn't good enough then have a second dose of the other.

Mecha series as much concerned with the sometimes silly, sometimes serious interactions and school lives of the main characters as the mecha battles. It's hard to describe them in a way that doesn't make them sound like every other mecha series out there, but the two series definitely have the same feel to them.

Takes place around the time of WWI/WWII Humanity puts aside the current war to battle monsters Only effective weapon against monsters are mechs Both are pretty dark in atmosphere but Gunparade does try to lighten the mood with some highschool romance

Even though the setting is very diffrent both are emotional stories about a group of teenagers and their everyday lives.

Both are similar but also very different. Uchuu no Senshi revolves more around the bug killing where as Gunparade March focuses heavily on the relationships of the characters and less on the bug killing.
