Synopsis

Doraemon and friends travels into another world via the time machine; where humans and robots are living together. However they soon find out that the Empress of Robot Kingdom was trying to capture robots there and turn them emotionless. As the situation goes tense, our heroes sets out to stop the Empress and her plan.

My overall take: A compelling story with some strong emotional punches, but flubs a crucial character arc.

In this movie, Nobita and his friends rescue a lost robot boy, who comes from a planet where humans and robots once lived in harmony. It must be something about robots that brings out the emotional stories in Doraemon movies. That probably shouldn't be a surprise, because one of the most important themes of the franchise is, after all, the friendship between a robot and a human.
