Mahou shoujo series. Main character falls crazily in love with a schoolmate in a soccer team. Artwork is similar. The whole feeling is similar.

Both using girls who change into animals to fight evil. Tokyo mew mew is not as old as tonde buurin, but just as nice. Though in tokyo mew mew there are five girls and in tonde buurin only one =)
