Synopsis

After eating a strange flower, Chocotan the mini dachshund gains the ability to talk! Since then, the eager pup has been able to provide her young owner, Nao Hatori, with earnest support.

The two often walk to the park in hopes of running into Hatori's crush, Yamato Arima, and his dachshund Happy. During one encounter, Arima is interrupted by his female classmates, distancing Hatori from their conversation. To make matters worse, Chocotan loses her ability to speak and is unable to console her now devastated owner. Despite these setbacks, Chocotan's steadfast love for her human companion motivates Hatori to muster the courage to realize her genuine feelings.

It was cute and cute.

The anime tells the story of chocotan and her owner. She is a dog that can talk with humans for a bad explained reason.
The episodes are short and this didn't get us time to explain a lot of things. But the end is well made and you can tell the story done.I can't say the anime is perfect or have anything that te best i've seen, but i can say i liked how the story goes and how the characters are cute and heartwarming. The dog interactions are the best, and it really could tell a bit more after what happened in the last ep,but it ...

I gave this OVA a 8.

Despite it being disturbingly sweet, it looks like it would be an outstanding anime for 8-12 year old girls.

It is kinda stereotypical of what the Japanese seem to think girls want to watch, ie. sweet and cloying romance, but no one needs to be watching just this kinda anime all the time. That is what made me drop it from a 9 to an 8 truth be told.

I continuously compared it to children's talking animal cartoons of the west and came see this as a "workable" premise, in that it seems to be around a "power" of the dog. I ...

This OVA doesn't even bother to give the audience anything resembling a character introduction before we are thrown into this predictable, yet at the same time, nonsensical "journey". There's very little plot to be seen in this anime. The girl's crush and jealousy surrounding the one male in this show comes out of utter nowhere and the story gives us no reason to care about her plight. The thin conflict has an equally shallow resolution with no weight to it. The animation and art was also a bit unsettling. Characters rarely ...
