Technically both series were originally published a decade from each other but contain colorful animation and multiple episodes of monster of the week. Go Nagai's violence found in Cutey Honey rivals that of Hirohiko Araki in his work of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. One is a violent magical girl and the other is a manly shonen but both contain the same amount of entertainment in their bizarre scenarios and enemy character designs.

Both shows have very similar vibes overall, from the soundtrack to the fun lead characters. Mach Girl is like if Hurricane Honey specifically had her own G-rated spin-off show.

Both are Go Nagai series featuring a brutal hero who battle monsters and demons. While the structure of both anime can be repetitive, they do feature very odd character designs and many unforgettable moments. Cutey Honey is the more colorful of the two but contains the same level of violence as Devilman.

Both anime feature a swordswoman on a revenge journey while constantly slaying monsters/demons. Sadly, both of these series don't offer a solid conclusion to their quest. Cutey Honey is very episodic but offers visual highlights due to its usage of groovy colors. Claymore contains better executed fight scenes but both shows share some moments of sorrow and plenty of violent action.

Cutie Honey was heavily influential for Kill la Kill and are pretty similar with each other. Both focus on a female protagonist (Ryuko and Cutey Honey) that finds out that their father has been killed by a mysterious person and must find the one who is responsible for killing their father. Both uses a transformation power created by their father to fight against evil. Both titles also have a similar supporting cast and uses a help from a mysterious man with a connection to the protagonist and her father to use their powers. They also contain a lot of action, fan service and comedy. While  read more
