Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen III - Kourin

The influence of the Devilman manga can easily be seen in Berserk, so it is obvious the both anime have similarities as well. The eclipse scene of Berserk is heavily inspired by Devilman for several reasons, and both anime share similar character archetypes, themes, monsters, gore, sex, violence and depravity. 

both contain a impressive amount of suffering and death, they're also both set in a medieval fantasy world. 

Monsters look similar to Apostles and the God Hand Multiple Rape Mind Control Genre: Medieval 

Both anime have a main protagonist who uses a giant sword to fight all sorts or creatures, both humans and monsters. They contain a lot of action and violence, as well as protagonists with anti-hero qualities. The only difference is that the events of DMC happen in modern times, while the events of Berserk happen in medieval times. 

Both are epic medieval fantasy anime, featuring monsters and knights. Both have a lot of gritty action, gore and violence. The main protagonists in both anime have similar anti-heroic personalities. 

Both films mark the ending of their adapted story arcs which offer high quality animation, dispute among brothers/comrades, and a very tragic conclusion.  

Friendship, hatred etc. Both stories are just amazing. I don't wanna explain why I think they're similar, just find out for yourself. You won't regret. 

Cruel shows with bloody fights against powerful and merciless monsters. The main characters try to protect their friends from very strong maneater monsters.
