tbh the premise and the plot seem really interesting. the art style is cool too. and I get all the foreshadowing, the analogies and metaphors they were doing with current social issues in Japanese society/ the world in general. I get the message. BUT ALL OF THE CHARACTERS are so poorly written. It's okay for characters to be problematic and do shitty things IMO but if you're tryna get us on their side, you should be showing us more of their motivations and thought processes. Instead I feel like the characters keep contradicting their own previous actions/ words, or the interactions

if one is to be really critical I guess it's not all that different, BUT if you're looking for sth to restore your will to live, this is it (no cap)(speaking from experience). there's no forced drama, no forced romance, nor purposefully hateful characters, they explore stereotypical (east asian/ japanese) high school tropes in a refreshing way that warms your dead body from the inside and makes you anticipate the flowers a bit more. surprisingly with this take it's not boring either, whereas there's no crazy drama or dense plot, we uncover our mcs and get a glimpse of our side characters' backstories through lighthearted

this is one of those anime seasons where you can see how much heart has been put into this work. i'd say every aspect is up to par, especially the music, which I rarely notice in anime shows. even the opening and closing are so well-made, so carefully thought out. i love how we're getting more action and exploration into the characters as well, more than just knowing their thoughts but discovering their motivations while they learn more about themselves and the people around them too. I'm excited to see more action from Yor and future arcs! might even hop on the manga.

my first ever review on here and I was NEVER interested in sports animes like it seemed like a bunch of boys running after a ball w some coming-of-age and comedic points dropped in but OH BOY. holy shit. right from the get go I realised this is not just a casual fun sports anime about growth and yada yada. shit is SERIOUS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL and ngl kinda dark and I was sold. i was so sold I ended up finishing 24 episodes in two days.
