tbh the premise and the plot seem really interesting. the art style is cool too. and I get all the foreshadowing, the analogies and metaphors they were doing with current social issues in Japanese society/ the world in general. I get the message. BUT ALL OF THE CHARACTERS are so poorly written. It's okay for characters to be problematic and do shitty things IMO but if you're tryna get us on their side, you should be showing us more of their motivations and thought processes. Instead I feel like the characters keep contradicting their own previous actions/ words, or the interactions other characters have with them just take a turn and doesn't make sense at all. like wdym "there's nothing I can do on my own" when all you have to do is SAY SOMETHING like you did after and wdym you're raving about taking action and go do it and make it happen after what you said earlier like??? the only one character who I find not bad is bc his screentime hasn't been that much and I'm not sure if I want that to happen. i really wanna continue watching for the plot but idk if I can hold out.
