Np, haha i just finished the series like a month ago so i have the story pretty fresh on my mind. Plus i knew that studio had a fame but i wasnt expecting it to be like this. I would say i really like the ending song tho.

Sure, np. Hmm with the adaptation i feel like they wanted to force the full adaptation all at once. I heard this is supposedly a 2 cours season so since the ln has 6 volumes, they were going to adapt 3 volumes per cour. The issue is that they are skipping content, and the staff has done poorly balancing what to take and what to keep, cuz some scenes skipped actually helps the viewer understand the world and the setting while other content helps the viewer see the romantic relationship of oscar x tinasha and its development. So i think most viewers are kinda confused since some lore has been skipped or the romantic progression feels forced.

On the ln aspect, imo the story is comprised of major arcs (for example tinashas past with lanak, etc.) and of short stories. Personally i liked the major arcs, some short stories were boring tho but they still let you know about the lore of the world or it later connects to a bigger storyline or they helped to develop oscar and tinashas relationship. Imo the romance its better on the ln, since we can see the development we can see them getting closer, it doesnt feel forced like on the anime. Tinashas character is better since she is more fleshed out, her loneliness, her guilt you can feel it more and empathize more towards her. I think oscar is a decent mc, not great but it works for the story. The side characters tbh theres nothing much to talk about them, they only serve for what the story needs them. There are some antagonistic characters in the last vol who are also interesting but they gain prominence until this vol, although they have appearances throughout the story.

For me, what really made unnamed memory an enjoyable read was the love story between the leads and their chemistry. Im going to say some spoilers cuz i think they are needed as well in my explanation:

But yeah i think if you like the premise, dont mind reading lns and want to read a romance, i would recommend.

The background of the characters and their motives for accepting being a mahou shoujo are some reasons. It is a well crafted work for sure :)
