Haruhi and Medaka both have an aura that no one else in their respective shows can compare to. Also, like Haruhi chose Kyon, Medaka chose Zenkichi. Even though they are both normal humans they are the closest to gods or god-like humans. Medaka and Haruhi's power could spell ruin for the world if they lost control.

Both main characters of the show are females. And both are quite abnormal.
Haruhi- Has powers to control the universe.
Medaka- Was born to love people and uses powers to help them.
In both animes the main character drags people into their high school club.
Haruhi- SOS brigade
Medaka- Student Council.
Both animes are really really funny.
