You express that the affect Kino's Journey had on you was quite large, and I can't help but recommend Mushishi. Similarly episodic, Mushishi is a peaceful tale of a traveler who encounters various troubles along his way. If you enjoyed Kino so thoroughly, I can almost guarantee that you'll love Mushishi.
You gave a good straightforward review on Soul Eater. ~Helpful~.. Also, I couldn't agree with you more about the ending. The entire series was good, but it's like the writers ran out of ideas and just threw anything out there.
