Yeah i can see how some of the training episodes can overall destroy the awesome mood set after the actions episodes, though i quite like the training episodes i've seen so far. Good chance for some character building.

Yeaaah. That was definitely a factor. Some of the screwed-up, mistranslated names were so off they were hilarious, too. The scan quality does eventually even out, though, and by Skypiea I was already so hooked on the story I couldn't stop reading even if I wanted to.
