If you become invested at all in this anime (w/o having read the manga), there will be an episode (or 2) that will infuriate you. This is because at that point, the mostly fantastically executed storytelling gets thrown out the window. Honestly, I loved this manga from start-to-finish. There isn't one thing I didn't like about it.
Story: This was a simple story about the things that aren't so simple - your first job out of school, your dreams and expectations, and yes, even love. It would be unfair to just consider it a love story, though, for that's only one piece of the puzzle. There is a realism to this story that is a comfort for those who can relate to it, and I am sure that many could. This also is a short story about a woman. That may mean nothing to ...

Overall, not an unpleasant read. I appreciated the unique angle - a perfume maker with a keen sense of smell (unintentionally) using his skill and olfactory senses to solve mysteries. I think that this could have gone a lot farther than 3 chapters and I am sad that it didn't. Honestly, even though while reading I was thinking "man, this is kind of stupid", I still quite enjoyed it.
The character development was non-existent, as to be expected in such a short story, but you get the sense that there are some interesting backgrounds that could have been explored had the work run ... |
