Sola (Anime) add
The best way to summarize Sola is to say that it's a great concept, poorly executed.
The story is awesome. Really awesome. Not since Kanon have I seen a story so semi-tragic and bittersweet. However, the art is terrible, and the voice acting is subpar. The way the story unfolds definitely could have been done better, and except for the song "Binkan Na Fuukei" by Ceui, the soundtrack is unexceptional. However, the story was so great I quite enjoyed it anyway.

Mixed Feelings
It's been said before that there are Twins fans and Teacher fans. In the first few episodes of this show, I was thinking, "man, this is way better than Onegai Teacher." And the first few are. They're actually really funny and look like a buildup to a great romance. Then, it starts to suck. The same situations repeat over and over, it stops being funny, and the characters REALLY got on my nerves. It's like this all the way through the end.

STORY:
It's actually a clever idea, and a lot could have been done with it. Quite liked it.

ART:
It's the same as Onegai Teacher - all ...

Unlike 5CM Per Second, this did not leave me feeling like I was going to cry out my entire soul. Also unlike 5CM Per Second, I didn't spend half the movie thinking, "this isn't that good." (See my review: http://myanimelist.net/anime/1689/5_Centimeters_per_Second/reviews) Rather, it's great, but not a deeply moving tearjerker like most of Shinkai's other work. Allow me to elaborate.

STORY:
While it's somewhat slow to develop and a little confusing at first, it's very innovative and quite touching in many parts. Very well executed, too. Unlike some animes, it's interesting enough on its own that you could write a book with it.

ART:
Probably the best thing about this ...

Clannad Movie (Anime) add
What the hell guys.

How do you ruin some as awesome as Clannad.

Well, they did. There are so many things wrong with those movie I don't even know where to start, so I'll do each category sequentially.

STORY:
Meandering, directionless, and totally boring until the last half hour or so. Except for the last thirty seconds or so(which were actually pretty heartwarming) the ending was the lamest attempt at a feel-good ending I've ever seen. It's hard to say more without spoiling anything, but let's just say if I were Okazaki I would have been really pissed off at what my friends did to "cheer me up".

ART:
Okay, it's ...

Much like Voices of a Distant Star, this anime has many obvious, obvious flaws, and yet at the end I was all like "Dear God I think I am going to cry." For one thing, it feels rushed. Instead of us seeing how close Akari and Takaki are, Takaki just narrates that they are. Instead of seeing them talking late through the night, Takaki just says "we talked late through the night". Hence, when they separate there's not nearly as much emotion as there should be, since we don't really know much about the characters or their relationship. For another, the second episode is just ...

Wow. Just wow, guys. This is probably one of the best animes I've seen, and definitely the best romance. The soundtrack is amazing, the characters are awesome, and the story (like all good ones) blend face-punchingly sad parts with head-explodingly happy ones. I have to say very few animes stand up to this one. A must watch.

Hoshi no Koe (Anime) add
This is an anime I'm not quite sure what to make of. Through most of watching it, I was thinking, "dude, this sucks." Firstly? The art is frikkin' terrible. Seriously. The people look like they were drawn by three year olds. Secondly, because it's so short, it rushes through so fast that the characters have basically no personality and the story hardly even seems like a linear plot. At the end, I thought "well, that was a waste of that half-hour", and then I realized that I was actually deeply moved. I realized that you're not really meant to look at it as a linear ...
