My main philosophy when reviewing is to sum things up in a paragraph. The reason is? You're busy. You don't have time to read 1,000 words on what I thought about some show. Moreover, what I thought of it doesn't matter to you, what matters to you is whether or not you'll enjoy it. So my reviews will generally be single paragraphed giving an overall indication of what I thought, followed by who I think would like the anime I'm talking about.
The blog is where I put more detailed descriptions of my opinion on various anime, also where I fanboy over whatever probably.
The scores on my list indicate the following:
10- Masterpiece, would show anybody at any time, makes me bless the age I live in and feel bad for anybody who doesn't see it.
9- Experienced a strong emotional connection with the work, had strong artistic merits or I think it's a paragon of its genre
8- Would definitely recommend, I liked it and thought it had good merits (characterisation, animation, artwork, soundtrack etc)
7- I enjoyed it but I didn't think it was overly brilliant, probably wouldn't recommend unless you're strong with the anime force
6- Pretty average, but I certainly didn't HATE it.
5- Sometimes frustrating, couldn't stand at least one of the aspects of it. Didn't really enjoy watching it, but didn't feel I wasted my time either.
4- I dropped it, or I watched it out of a desire for masochism or on a bet. Aspects of it were painful. Alternatively, I thought the anime was anywhere between 5 and 7 but the ending COMPLETELY ruined it.
3- I didn't just drop it, I dropped it in a fit of rage or despair. I consider it generally unwatchable
2- Made me physically ill, makes me question why I even watch anime, makes me consider another hobby while I'm still young
1- I can honestly say I've yet to experience an anime this bad, but if there is one, it's probably Garzey's Wing or Musashi Gundou. I drop anime before they cause me this much trauma.

It didn't help that EL has been spoiled to various extent, a side effect of long anime culture exposure.
Very few indeed. As it stands only the top two reviews of each series get any decent exposure.

Boy was I disappointed.... Started it thinking it would be a nice break from the typical romantic crap, then BAM! I found the same old boring romantic crap beneath the pretentious gore.
"Moreover, what I thought of it doesn't matter to you, what matters to you is whether or not you'll enjoy it."
This should be stickied on the front page. To be fair though, the reviews you want to write are less like a review and more like a recommendation.
