for the longest time i thought this movie was a direct sequel to the previous season, that i needed to watch it before jumping on the next season, but that's not the case, the race part of this movie is not only quite rushed, but pure filler and it just hurts the actual story, not only because it replaces the previous sendoff for the 3rd years, in the interhigh, but also because as you watch it, you will see some solid scenes that seem like a perfect fit to the story, but then while watching the next season, you'll see those same scenes again, except ... they're involved in canon material, not made up filler.

there are a few nice original scenes, but they're not worth spoiling your experience over, so overall you're better off skipping this, but if you want to check out the OC scenes, then i recommend watching the next season first, atleast until the 3rd years retire and the new captain is selected, you should be outside this movies spoiling range by then.

A catchy song with nice visuals and a very cute n funny loli to top it all off.
however, my rating is as relatively low as it is, because of the roughly 1min long part around the middle, it basically puts the song on break to do some jokes, and kills all replayability in the process, because you, or atleast I, don't want to have my 3min of music interrupted by 1min of nonsense in the middle.
without this issue, i'd prob give it an 8.

some people liked to say that this song 'owns lolicons'
but it doesn't, it completely plays into the jokes that are part of ... the lolicon community, only those completely outside of it could misinterpret it like this.

The ability to create skills is pretty neat, but the rest is quite lacking.
The animation is mediocre, and the story...my god the story makes me want to shoot myself.
Normally in ecchi anime you'll have the occasional nonsense lewd scene, or in the case of Highschool DxD it may even be used a powerup, as dumb as that is.
But this show...it does lewd stuff every 5 minutes and it's so unbearably forced it's not even funny.
Literally episode 1, first scene - "oh when the great sage had headaches he made out with his wife, so obviously it must've helped him, so let us make ... out, childhood buddy!" like what? seriously? this is hentai levels of contrived action.
His sister is also into him too for some reason, and when he goes to the guild, the guild lady makes a bet that if he wins, she'll show her panties, and you think "oh she's probably cocky and thinks there's no way he'll win the bet" but no, he wins and she gladly shows him, as if she hoped that he'd win all along cuz she's into him.
Then he has another bet with a teacher and you think maybe SHE'LL have that cocky mindset instead, but no, she loses and then proceeds to grind her ass on him INFRONT OF THE ENTIRE CLASS.
Like jfc you'd think the protag had some "aphrodisiac scent" passive active 24/7, but no, every woman in this show is just a massive thot for some reason.
Hell his receptionist literally pulled out some "touch me anywhere coupons" and then rubbed her crotch on his dick, like god damn she's one step away from being a prostitute at this point.
Also boobs defy physics and just move on their own, cuz reasons.
And in the obligatory hot springs episode he white knights for the girls and they rub their boobs in his face as a reward, cuz ofcourse they do.

The level system is pretty arbitrary with really big numbers that mean little, the protag is braindead yet the world revolves around him, and the LP gain, which is super important, is just randomly made way bigger when the protag needs it.

overall, if you want to watch some trashy lewd nonsense with your brain turned off, feel free to watch it, but otherwise - best not to waste your time.

A great, high quality animation full of solid shortstack action, however the story is rather confusing.
Any time he does anything to her it seems to reset, you're constantly unsure whether things are real or just in his head.

However, as an adaptation you can argue that this fails spectacularly, because of just how much it changes.
In the original comic it's a dude lusting after a schoolgirl that proceeds to molest her on the train, in this it's a story about a kid who was doing lewd stuff with his teacher (which we see some scenes of), and now he's an adult and encounters another teacher on ... the train that is identical to that one for some unexplained reason, and proceeds to imagination-molest her.
If this was a typical anime, the fanbase would be rioting over so many changes, so it's better to take them as standalone works and enjoy both.

overall, if you wanna enjoy some shortstack action without thinking about the plot - definitely give it a try.

Back when this show was first airing I remember seeing some people call it the new deathnote...yeah no, even if you disregard the mediocre-at-best animation, calling this contrived, plot armor heavy nonsense "the new deathnote" is an insult to deathnote, the only thing they have in common is that they're both stories filled with mind games where the protag is trying to hide their status as a killer.

The dialogue is quite clunky at times and the characters are...strange, like the mother finds that her husband murdered someone and she's just...chill, unnaturally so, like it comes off that she's some ... kinda psychopath that has a few bodies under her belt aswell, but no she's meant to just be a normal housewife that cares about her family, it's weird.

Now the plotarmor in this show is just blatant.
The bad guy has our protag completely tied up with a bag over his head, he can't fight back at all, and what does the baddie do?
cut off the bag and the restraints, and then...tell him he's gonna kill him, after which he proceeds to grab him and try to stab him...
why...he could've just stabbed him while he was restrained and that's it, but if he did that, our protag would've had a harder time getting out of the situation, so the writer just contrived his way into a better one, when they should've just redrafted the script instead.

overall, if you're looking for "the next deathnote", look elsewhere, but if you want just some thriller story, regardless of quality, then go ahead i guess.

What a shitshow.
The animation was great, but the whole movie was nothing more than mindless action and fanservice, you have cameos of dozens
of old characters and you think you'll get some interesting matchups like mad monk and scratchman vs luffy or something, but no, they exchange like 2 blows and fuck off, it's designed to be nothing more than fan service to make you go "OOOOOOOOOOH" for 5 seconds.

The final fights is a mess too, it basically ignores luffys durability and the importance of blood loss.
Luffy also whips out a new bigger and better punch that for some reason causes less side ... effects than smaller, weaker punches did in the past, so once again, it's flashy bs for the sake of it.

The villain is complete trash, he's basically a mindless BBEG that shouts "rawr i am strongest, and you are not, come face me"
like jesus christ, it's like he was made up by a child playin with some toys.
Atleast the gold movie villain had an interesting backstory and wasn't this boring.
