This was one of the most unique series I've watched, if not THE most. Every aspect of it has uniqueness, be it art or story or characters. There is a lot of humour, which never feels like an annoyance, even in serious scenes.
Although there were quite a few loose ends or stories that were left without any development (like Magic Eye Free. Honestly I would have liked further details on the Eight Guardians of Death, Eibon etc but that's too much to ask), they did not really annoy me to a great extent. However, the last episode - that is, how it all ends
...
- REALLY REALLY annoys me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SPOILER ALERT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. The blow from Asura to Death could easily have been avoided by a man of his calibre. No matter how much you tell me it was a last resort and he didn't have time, come one we're talking about Death here. He could easily have put up at least a weak barrier. The scene happened to move the story on to its final script but this was the first undoing.
2. Asura initially seems like an exceptional character, filled with madness. However, once he enters his barrier and starts fighting, his character changes.
3. The words "I'm relieved" that Maka utters. Yes, it succeeds in scaring the crap out of Asura, agreed. But it makes absolutely no sense why she would say that at that point of time. If it was a resort aimed at invoking fear, it could only have been seen as such. It wouldn't have succeeded in scaring him. Or, if it was actually her relief, it couldn't have been because literally nothing happens before that for her to be relieved. This was another annoying block in the gears of this anime. They just wanted to defeat Asura using Maka's bravery but they failed in finding a proper script for that.
4. The final punch that defeats Asura. I get that he was frightened by the bravery, but what actually deals the finishing blow and breaks his mask and face, is the punch. There even was no bravery involved. This was in my opinion the writers relying too much on the bravery concept. They could at least have made Asura's defeat a bit believable. The way they did this was even worse than the cliche "I need to protect my friends"-shounen-powerup style. Way worse. This just made me scoff at Maka.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~END OF SPOILER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As evident, the last episode riled me up bad. The ending could have been so much better. They messed up.
However, the anime as such still remains really excellent. This was very enjoyable for me. I would really like rewatching this too. But it would be nice if there was a sequel or something that tied up loose ends, developed underdeveloped plots more and just gave us more story.

This is a bad anime,but enjoyable nonetheless.
The story, although mixed with a lot of history, is very poor. The first episode was nice, but then Saizou changed. There were one or two characters I liked. Honestly I expected much more action and good fight sequences. But it seemed as if the fights were mediocre and were there just to help move the story along.
A tad too much of twists, with the plot already being convoluted as it is. The animation was good though, and was quite colourful.
The climax was meh and the ending was weak and confusing as well. If you're going
...
for story along, I'd say don't. But if you just want an enjoyable anime with some funny moments, this is fine.

If you have watched a few of the first episodes and are bored and planning to drop it, don't. I was the same. Code:Breaker is not a masterpiece or some really great anime, but it is good and enjoyable.
The story or idea seemed good enough but there were two flaws I caught. One is how irrational the antagonist's plan/idea is. Considering how experienced and good he is, it just seems plain stupid how he could turn his life down the path of such a flawed logic.
The second is how each of their powers are fluctuating. Their strengths keep changing. What I mean is, they lose
...
to people whom they could easily have beaten.
Another thing I'd like to mention is how *SPOILER*
Code01's electricity is superior to all the other powers, even Code04's Magnetism. Seriously? That's just scientifically wrong man.
*END SPOILER*
These were the two major flaws I found which brought the overall quality down. Other than this, it was a fairly enjoyable and short series.
To add to the flawed storyline, they left us with a cliffhanger at the end, about bigger powers. Yet there has been no sequel yet. This made me move on to the manga which has 200 more chapters.

When I was new to the world of anime, of course, like any other excited person, I searched some of the best anime to watch. I saw Samurai Champloo. I was EXTREMELY attracted by the orange coloured poster they attached to the review of this anime. It looked really cool to me. So when I started this anime, I was bubbling with curiosity and excitement. And then I watched a few episodes.
The story was boring (now what I mean by this is - actionless. Prior to this, I had watched anime like Naruto, Code Geass, FMAB, etc. and so Samurai Champloo seemed SO BORING to
...
me). I was REALLY REALLY hoping for some cool action scenes and especially since it was swordfighting! Ah! What a shame. Nah, the fights were not really good. I've heard people say that the art is really good in the fights. Now, I don't agree or disagree to that. But even if that was the case, the fights are still not good. They just kept walking towards the Sunflower Samurai. Encountering boring things on the way.
I was actually just wishing I could skip some episodes or something. Anything to get me out of the misery. But then I reached the final 6 or 7 episodes. Now, I started getting into the series a bit. I started liking it. Loved the characters.
And then I sort of started seeing it in a different light (after I did some googling, i.e.). The anime wasn't meant to be an action-packed series or anything. What was good about it was the portrayals of early Japanese livelihood, culture and progress. It showed different aspects of society and how each grew and developed over time. It excellently shows how Japan changed under the Western influence. It really is awesome.
At the same time, the anime is filled with the people's own Japanese culture too. It shows how even when things changed, they still kept hold of their roots.
I started loving Japan the moment I started watching anime. I can say that Samurai Champloo made me love the country more!
Oh, and the theme music. Need I say more?
