Yeah, i understand, but i also think that there is that realism in it still, it has not faded away, and it is still engaging imo. I think once the manga is over and when people have time to re-read the final arc and the manga as a whole, they will appreciate and see that it's all been good writing wise.
Are there some iffy/bad moments? Sure.
The Vinland Arc specifically to me feels like the Slave Arc- it starts out slow, builds up and then war breaks out.
I think the Vinland Arc has the potential to be as good or even better as the Slave Arc once the manga is over.
While i agree with some points in your Vinlnad Saga review, i think that the last arc is that perfection/pinnacle that you are seeking
from chapter 167 to the end of the manga.
The comedy becomes less, and when it is used, it is used well, and it makes sense, and there is also emotional and thought provoking questions/dialogue as well.
Thorfinn's journey is still intense, even in the 3rd arc, and even moreso now.
The comedy in the 3rd arc is there to contrast the bleakness and darkness of the previous 2 arcs for me it works, but i can see why people aint fans of it.
The writing is still good and it all makes sense in a vacuum and it's even better on a re-read.
