I first started Fairy Tail because all my friends were like: "You love One Piece, you'll LOVE this!" I thought it would be a rip-off of my favorite series and went into it with very low expectations. However, only a few chapters in, my attitude changed significantly!

This series is reasonably new so the story is only just started, however what there is so far is great! A lot is still open and YET TO HAPPEN and I find myself excited to find out what happens next. The jokes are original and don't get stale and the overall tone of the series is a very fun one.

Each character you come into contact with is unique and interesting. Most of them have a quirk that will have you laughing. There's the chronic-stripper Gray and the motion-sickness prone Natsu. Not to forget Elfman who practically walks around spouting Chuck Norris quotes. This series has strong female characters and wonderful male characters! And let's not forget the token animal characters.

I love the art style. It's clean and the characters have very distinct facial expressions. At first glance, it looks like a One Piece rip-off. While the styles are very similar, you will be soon to realize that the art styles are very different!

The tone of this series is light-hearted and hilarious. Like all series, it has its serious moments that are very well done. I'd sit here and tell you all about the series but I think you should see for yourself! It's worth giving a shot! read more

One Piece is honestly the most amazing series I have ever watched or read. The plots are well-written and hold my attention without taking themselves too seriously and adding unnecessary drama that causes me to lose interest. The characters are some of the most endearing, well-developed and likable characters and the art, while not appealing to me at first, took a grand total of TWO episodes to get used to before I found it to be incredibly unique and my favorite anime art style to date.

While this series has serious moments, it never stops being funny. Something important about the humor in this series is that it's ORIGINAL. None of the typical jokes that are recycled in every anime and even the serious moments I was talking about are sprinkled with clever and endearing humor that keeps me watching.

Something that is important to me in a series is the characters. If I don't like characters, chances are, I'm not going to like the series. The lead cast to One Piece has won me over in their own individual ways. There is not a single one I don't like and I seriously thought that was IMPOSSIBLE.

I could go on and on about this series but it's not my job to tell you EVERYTHING great about it! Just take my word on it! read more
