A Scum's Wish.
I give this show a score of 9/10. Although many people say that this show is fucked up but i actually like it. Why?
(If you want to just read about the plot skip to the second part)
1. The simple ones first:
Gorgeous animation (e.g. the usage of watercolour-like effects), smooth movements and transitions.
The transitions using rectangles or/and squares with the new scene/close-up inside (or is it panels? idk) is very fitting to the pace of the show.
It gives the feel of reading a manga.
Character designs are also aesthetically pleasing, and sometimes beautiful pencil drawing-like stills are being used. The art is
...
truly a feast to the eyes.
Sceneries are also beautiful and realistic, especially those involving trees. The animators played with the various shades of green and manipulated the lighting
effects to make the scenery so beautiful.
The sound department: Two thumbs up from me. The opening and ending song are both catchy and suit the show very much. I also love the dynamics of the song beginning
from slow to rock. The voice actors did a terrific job! I especially like Hanabi's voice actress portrays her personality so much. Her boredom, spitefulness etc are
captured perfectly.
2. The more complicated part:
The show starts off with Hanabi and Mugi, both having crushes that they can never have. They somehow got along and decided to be each other's substitute for the ones
they cannot have, seeking physical comfort with each other. Meanwhile there are other people that have feelings towards Hanabi and Mugi, and how they all become
selfish and ruthless in order to get the person they love. This show has well-developed characters and also good storyline. The storyline is quite realistic (reality
can be ugly *sighs*) and it helps to slap some sense into me (T.T). The ending also wrapped things up nicely.
Most of the characters are developed to a certain extent, and their background are also being revealed. The characters grow as the story progresses, dealing with their
own struggles and heartbreaks. For example, the (supporting) character Moca, whom started off as the annoying-cute-princess type; after she dealt with her heartbreak
she became true to herself. I also love it when Mugi and Hanabi finally learnt to comfort each other using words, instead of using physicality.
The are also many lessons that can be learnt (hahaha) but one that i like is to 'never use someone as the substitute for someone you love. it'll bring a lot of pain to
you and the other' Thats all..
Wait i almost forgot, there is also appropriate amount and suitable timing of humour used in this show. It makes watching this show easier as it relieves the tension.
I really enjoyed this show, and to those contemplating to give it a try, just go for it!
P.S: It would be awkward if u watch this with your parents.

"The Morose Mononokean"
DON'T WATCH: if you're looking for an action-packed, fast-paced show.
WATCH: if you like natsume yuujinchou, hotarubi no mori e or poco's udon world (in terms of heartwarming elements) or if you enjoy slow, heartwarming storylines.

Story- (surprisingly) heartwarming and adorable at times. it follows the 'main characters are involved with youkai and tries to solve problems related to it' storyline. hence, the pacing- a bit slow, but it suits a show like this. the vibe is quite similar to mononoke & natsume yuujinchou.
Art - pretty unique (colour contrast, texture-thingy?) and pleasing to the eyes, a bit of CG, but nothing too unnecessary.the sceneries (especially in the 'underworld') are pretty as well.
Sound - the seiyuus, as always did a great job. i like the OP and ED as it gives off a nostalgic (?) feeling. background tracks used are suitable for bringing whatever moods it's supposed to bring
Characters - the main cast is small, yet their interactions are entertaining to watch. their background and development are also decently explored, considering the episode limit.

When i first saw the promotional poster, i was like, Naru?? Handa?? Season 2?? But, no. It's Poco's Udon World, not Barakamon season 2. However, I think that this show is as charming as the latter.
The storyline is simple, it's about a man, returning from Tokyo to his hometown after his father's death and encountering a 'child' sleeping in his family's long abandoned udon restaurant. After going through some circumstances, he decided to take care of the child. Initially, i thought that this show'll be focusing on Tawara's (the MC) struggles on reopening his restaurant, kinda like a cooking show.

is portrayed effectively through the simple storyline. Some of it includes: The consequences of behaving harshly in your youth, and the regret that comes later, first love and heartbreak (haha), keeping and cherishing memories, appreciating our parents...Even the first episode got me all teary. I really didn't expect to be hit by enormous amount of feels from this show. The comedy balances the feels, so we're all good *sniffs*
The animation is charming and elicited a sense of nostalgia (for me anyway) due to its realistic countryside portrayal, as an example. The character designs are simple and attractive, not too flashy or distorted. The characters themselves are likeable and has depth to them. Not only the main character is being developed, but the supporting ones as well. Aside from the MC's struggle and past being revealed, the other characters' struggles and dilemmas are also explored to a certain extent.
The seiyuus did a great job in portraying their characters,imo particularly Poco's seiyuu, because making those cute and crying sounds that at times will tug at your heartstrings can't be easy. The tracks used fit the events nicely and set the mood, and the OP and ED are also well-matched for this show. I especially like the ED cause it just fits so well with the feels.
I really enjoyed watching this show and i definitely recommend this to fans of Barakamon and those who love to watch a heartwarming story.

At first glance, Re:zero seemed like one of those typical fantasy-moe-harem show, but don't let the promotional poster fool you.
Under the cute character designs and colourful backgrounds, lies a very dark undertone.
A guy surrounded by many girls; we've seen that countless times.
But a guy surrounded by (cute) girls and death and killing and dying over and over? Now that's new, even if it utilised the now-typical'summoned to another dimension' thingy.
(MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)
Subaru the MC gets summoned to a fantasy world, meets the heroine, fell in love with her, vows to protect her and everybody he holds dear. It seems quite ordinary, but he
...
found out that the most effective way for him to protect them is by dying and restarting the events. It's just like an RPG game. Subaru's 'Return by Death' even has its save points!
The pacing is excellent, it's neither too rushed nor too slow, and although at times the story could be confusing, everything would make sense later. However, this show ended with many unsolved questions, like 'who's the witch?','why Subaru?'and many more. That's the only thing I'm salty about.
The art is truly exceptional; the colour tones used suits the mood and situations really well. In the first episode for example, the flashback(?) scene where Subaru vows to save Emilia,it was very dark and gloomy, and the special effects helps to add the feeling of desperation, fear and regret faced by Subaru. When the atmosphere is happy and relaxed, the colours used are the typical bright-cheerful-fantasy pallette, and it's one of the reasons why the show is truly deceptive.
The backgrounds are also given a lot of details and were simply gorgeous, like the streets in the Capital, the overview of the capital,the sunset when Subaru and Emilia were in the slums, furnitures (LoL)...I could go on and on. Fighting scenes are extremely fluid and enjoyable to watch, and the transition of scenes is also smooth. The CG used did not feel out of place as it was used tastefully, in the right places. I'd give the art a perfect 10.
There were many interesting characters in this show.Take Subaru for example. He's the most developed character so far, from innocent and naive to basically being an insane,selfish jerk, and then to the courageous young man. His change from a good guy to a...selfish prick is quite understandable though. He's been through so much suffering yet he couldn't tell anyone about what he had faced.It's a wonder that he managed to stay sane before Rem's pep talk.
In the sounds department, the voice actors did an excellent job, especially Subaru's and that Sloth Archbishop's VA. Subaru's VA had to make angry, dying, crying sounds and of course it's no easy feat. Sloth's VA is the same as Kirito (SAO)'s, and it really amuses me how different he sounded from Kirito. The sound effects used are so on point and gives the appropriate feels. The OPs and EDs are also catchy and unique.
So...I'll recommend this show to those who loves time-travel, fantasy and psychological genres. There's a bit of romance, but it's not really the main focus of this show. I hope season two comes out soon.

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri was like a trainwreck. It started out entertaining and interesting enough, but at some point in the show it went off the rail and crashed and burned.
This show is easily one of those disappointing shows (I'm looking at you, Zankyou no Terror), as it was so full of potential, yet it ends up...well, disappointing. And for those who watched this show because it gives off the "Attack on Titan vibe", it's only there in the beginning, so don't expect an epicness of a (Colossal) Titan's proportions.

The initial premise was very promising albeit a little cliched. Yeah, sure we've seen it all
...
before, but it could be interesting: Humans have been overrun by Kabane, they built stations to defend themselves, one day wall Maria got breached...I mean the MC's station got breached, then MC and the gang escaped, and set forth to save the world...Oh and insert a SUPERVILLAIN here who would stop at nothing to get what he wants.
(Yeah I suck in giving summaries)
It's not that bad actually, at least the first three episodes were interesting and have decent pacing. However as the story progresses, the pacing became inconsistent, and the lack of world-building became more evident hence making the story become a bit one-dimensional. Contrary to the first three episodes, the last three episodes were very rushed and hence made some part of it (especially Ikoma VS The Train in episode 12) seemed ridiculous. And you're gonna be like "What the hell where did that came from?!"
The character designs are pretty and interesting, but the background of the characters range from deep to cardboard. Mumei's character seemed to be the most developed in the series; as her dilemmas, past and insecurities were explored the most, which is befitting as she is one of the MCs. However, this made her character seem inconsistent as she went back and forth between her dilemmas, and changing her personality each time. Some of the characters didn't even get to have a proper background introduction, hence making them cardboard-like characters.
Even Ikoma the MC barely managed to dodge being a flat character. Despite Takumi being a flat character; which is friend A to Ikoma, he's likable with his sense of humour, loyalty and bravery. Biba's (main antagonist) background are somewhat explored, but he also suffers from personality disorder like Mumei. It's like he doesn't know what he actually wanted to do aside from destroying everything in his path. And his motives for doing so is quite...outrageous?
I think the saving grace for this show is the fluid animations, pretty character designs and awesome soundtracks. The OP, ED and tracks used help to set the vibe brilliantly .The voice actors did a really good job too. Honestly this is show is ridiculous to a certain extent, so if you're gonna be watching this show just switch of your intellect and enjoy the show, especially during the later episodes. There's gonna be many WTF moments, and it was oddly amusing. The finale might have been open-ended, but it gives the chance for a season two. Despite me having said that this show is a disappointment, despite all the flaws and oddities of this show, I find it entertaining to watch, and frankly it keeps you wanting to know what happens next.

"What you see is not always what it seems."
I think the statement above is applicable to this show.
Rokka no Yuusha felt like the typical adventure-fantasy-magic-action anime, but after a few episodes, it explored a premise which is quite uncommon for those adventure-fantasy-magic-action anime; mystery. A mission to slay the Demon King suddenly got turned into a dangerous guessing game of "who's the traitor?" In the first place,that's what got me interested in this show.
Although many reviewers say that the mystery aspect in the show is crappy, I think that it's actually quite decent (before the last episode at least). Yeah, maybe I'm quite dense,
...
but I wasn't able to figure out who the traitor is. As the show progressed, my suspect list changed again and again, but in the end I guessed wrong. I like how the show managed to keep me guessing, trying to figure out the M.O of the culprit. Almost every one of the six (or should I say seven) heroes had a reason to be suspected, like their suspicious behaviour, the sudden close-ups...
The ending spoilt the series though. The plot is progressing...then suddenly there's this twist. Surprise!!The one who is not what he/she seems is the traitor. It's good and bad at the same time. Yeah, it caught me off guard, but it made those earlier explanations seemed pointless. Like, what a waste of time. The revelation of the traitor's identity could have been executed better so that it doesn't feel so sudden and rushed.
Frankly, those anticipating a battle between the heroes and some 'Big Bosses' typically found in this kind of genre would be utterly disappointed, because more than half of the episodes were dedicated to the "guessing game". Action scenes are abundant, but it's mainly fights with the fiends and among the heroes. The action scenes make up for it, as battle scenes are fluid and done nicely. It was easy and entertaining to watch. The art is average, but sometimes it can be pretty as well; the sunsets were beautiful. The landscapes were diverse and colourful, but there was not too much detail given to it.
The character designs are nice and pretty. I think that Flamie's design is very unique, with her white hair and eyes and also her attire. The main character, Adlet is also likeable, if you just look past his annoying 'strongest man in the world' punchline. He's capable and is a genius, and he also got some background development. Only a few characters got background or developed, but the others didn't really felt unimportant. The cast is pretty colorful and diverse with all their different personalities. The VA's did a great job as they portray their characters excellently. Take Flamie for example, when she was emotionless, her voice sounded emotionless also. When she was sad, she sounded sad. It was befitting.The soundtracks used suit the events well. The OPs and the EDs gave the right vibe for this show, and I personally like the second OP.
Despite all its flaws, I had fun guessing. However, I wouldn't recommend this show to someone looking for epic action and mind-boggling mystery,though. If you've got some time to kill, this anime would do, take out the magnifying glass, and start analysing.

One Punch Man: You'll either hate it or love it.
For me, it's the latter.
If you're in for the comedy and action, you'll love it.
If you're specifically looking for a serious plot-driven anime, then back off from this show.
One Punch Man's (henceforth OPM) storyline is actually quite simple, but with a fun twist. Saitama's this bald, bored, and overpowered man who is constantly looking for an opponent that won't perish from his single punch. Tough luck for him. At Saitama's expense, it was soooo hilarious to see him get depressed because his opponents were too weak.
We are used to seeing anime MC'S struggling
...
to become strong and fighting the bad guys, getting all beaten up. But...In OPM Saitama never even got injured. The worst case for Saitama is...ending up naked.
Then there's this straightforward cyborg named Genos who's Saitama's apprentice.
Then Saitama registered to become an official hero and take on (weak) bad guys.
The end.
That's basically the story is about. Simple yet fun. I laughed so hard even just a few minutes watching the first episode.However, the story didn't get a 10 from me because it's plot is simplistic and there's no real tension there. But that's one of OPM's charms; simplicity and fun.
The art is simple yet it suits the show, I dunno why. The background is not particularly breathtaking or anything but it's juuust right. The debris especially were also given detail. Battle scenes are done very nicely; it's smooth and entertaining to watch.
In the sound department, the OP really suits the show! It's very catchy and full of hype. The ED is also nice, but it reminds me of Dragon Ball's Romantic no Ageru Yo. Somehow the ED brought a sense of nostalgia to me, and it's not a bad thing. The tracks used were in perfect sync with the events that happened, and the voice actors have done a really great job! I think Saitama's and Genos' VA really suits the characters.
Characters of OPM are not really that developed nor do they change. However, almost all of the characters are lovable, and there was only one character that I felt was kinda annoying. Saitama is strong strong strong. Genos is strong but is the epitome of a normal (superpowered) anime MC; strong but not too strong. OPM definitely lacks some character-building, but the focus of OPM is not really on the character development. *winks winks*
I really enjoyed watching OPM, and I can't wait for season 2! I think that those who especially enjoy watching comedy anime, or the likes of superheroes anime would love this fun-filled action show. Or if you're just wondering whether this show is worth watching for some comedic relief, this show is worth checking out.

One sentence review: A Ghibli-like adventure with a darker undertone.
I was intrigued when I saw this movie as it's directed by Makoto Shinkai, known for his great works that does NOT involve adventure, so I decided to give it a go.
At first, I thought that this movie would have a light adventure-y storyline. Well, not exactly light, but I didn't expect that this movie which seemed like a typical children's adventure fantasy movie to have such a heavy plot.
For me, the storyline is unique, as it incorporates both adventure and mystery elements into the story seamlessly eventhough it's not tagged as a mystery genre show.
...
Since the beginning of the movie, I felt that there was an air of mystery although nothing really mysterious has happened. The early part of the movie almost felt slice-of-life like, but the subtle odd hints that were shown ( A girl listening to music from a mysterious pendant on a cliff...The new eccentric teacher...) made this show felt mysterious.
A bit later, a heavier theme would be explored: The death of a loved one.
The three main characters all had lost someone very dear to them. Struggling to move on, they harbor the desire to bring their loved ones back to life, no matter what it takes. This movie shows how awful humans could be when they've lost their humanity to get what they desired. Yup...It's quite heavy. But above all that, it is actually a touching story of growing up and learning to say goodbye.
The art is absolutely gorgeous. The use of shadows and lightings, along with the colourful blend of sceneries is sure to grab anyone's attention. Most of the landscapes, especially in the Underworld were very pretty.
The soundtracks used really help to set the mood, and the ending song got me all teary-eyed. It was beautiful. The voice actors really did great job bringing the characters to life.
The development of the characters were quite decent. There were actually reasons why the characters behaved that way, like why Asuna's teacher were so determined to seek Agartha. However, there are some unanswered questions, like where did Asuna's father get that stone? Shin's background were also blurry and Shun's motive was blurry too.
I really enjoyed this unique and heartfelt movie. For those who love the adventure and feels genre, try watching this :)

Picture the bishounens of Ouran High School Host Club with guns. Toy guns.
Yeah, it's about good-looking guys playing in survival games. Although those who have watched Ouran High will primarily notice so many similarities between these two shows that it kinda creeps you out.
But don't worry, as the story progresses the similarities will fade out.
STORY-6
The one thing I noticed about the story is the pacing. The pacing is inconsistent; some things that could be resolved quickly were dragged and things that are supposed to be given more screen time is cut short.
For example, Tachibana the MC was almost immediately free of his debt, after
...
we witnessed them playing like once or twice. The same goes for the biggest event;TGC, after Toy Gun Gun's (the MC'S group) match with Hoshishiro, there wasn't even a glimpse of the other teams' fight! It ended just like that. Huh.
However, things like Tachibana's insecurity or excitement could be short and sweet, but they made it long and it felt draggy. They just looove flashbacks...As a result, the action scenes were cut short.
Many things were also left unanswered, like what really happened between Matsuoka and Midori?? There is also one more thing that bothers me. The MC's gender is repeated too many times that it feels redundant. Like yeah, yeah, we know you're a girl already!
ART-7
The art is quite pretty, but it was not outstanding either. We'll get to see pretty sceneries sometimes, the character designs are also cute.
SOUND-7
The OP helped to set the mood, the soundtracks were relatively okay, but it wasn't really memorable.
CHARACTER-7
The characters are quite lovable, but they lack a solid background. That's why the characters felt kinda superficial. We don't know Tachibana's or Midori's background, and background building is very essential so that the characters don't seem superficial.
ENJOYMENT-8
Despite all the flaws, I enjoyed watching this series, paticularly the action scenes.
OVERALL-7
I gave a 7 mainly because of the inconsistent pacing and the lack of character-building. However, once you overlook those things, you can sit back and enjoy.

Highschoolers with superpowers? I know I've seen it somewhere...But no. Charlotte isn't just about highschoolers with superpowers.
I was skeptical to watch this show at first, because I thought that it must be one of "those shows" in which they would fight the bad guys one by one and save the day...Yup.
That premise is not necessarily a bad thing, I was looking for something fresh and different. Then, I came across Charlotte!
A word of caution though: if you're looking for a light-hearted adventure anime to watch, then this show is not for you.
Why? The first few episodes seemed fun enough.
STORY:7
Sure, this show made

me laugh a lot at first, what with the antics of the characters, especially the the teleporter-boy's frequent accidents.
Ah, how I thought that the series would continue its comedic mood until the end...But no. I thought that that for most of the series, it would just be about them finding those special abilities wielder and threaten them not to use it.
After those fun days, the story would be taking an entirely different path.
Get ready with some tissues. Some people might be put off by the inconsistent mood that is brought upon by this anime, but I think that it is quite refreshing.
I think its because this show caught me off guard, and I'm not really easy to be surprised anymore, as I've been watching anime for some time.
On the other hand,there are some things that bothers me in terms of the story. First, the relationship between Otosaka Yuu and Tomori Nao makes you go "HAAAA???" Like when did that happen?
There were any suitable or specific situations that can lead to *that*, and you are left wondering, "HOW??WHEN???" Heck, Otosaka even quietly let Tomori get beaten up once, so HOW??
Next is the ending. Oh boy, the ending felt so rushed, because that's what happens if you try to cram all of the resolution and action into ONE episode.
Lastly, I'm unsatisfied with the ending, because the MC did ALL that, just to find himself in a hospital room with...Oops that would be spoilers. But at least it was kind of a happy ending.
ART:9
The art is very well done. The characters are colorful, the sceneries are also beautiful. The character designs are quite generic, but it's nice. I particularly love Tomori's blue eyes.
SOUND: 10
This show's OP is one of he highest ranking of 2015 OP because it's beautiful and unique! The ED is not bad either, and the tracks used are suitable for the events.
CHARACTERS: 7
Well, well, well. The male MC at first was a lying-cheating-vain-selfish-bastard whom would not fall into the generic "good guy" category and that is quite refreshing to have an asshole who would change for the better, right?.
However, after the first episode (I think), all those traits were gone. Yup. Gone. Then Otosaka Yuu became the generic "kinda good guy" protagonist. If he changed gradually, it's fine. But, he changed too drastically and that's the flaw.
For the female MC, Tomori. I think that she is too indifferent and emotionless. Her expression was nearly the same the whole time. Besides, there were some unanswered question about her; like why did she get bullied in the first place? The main characters' background are fleshed out okay I guess, but the interesting side characters barely got any development.
ENJOYMENT: 7
Overall, this show gave me something refreshing to watch, as it was completely different from my expectations. I gave a 7 for this show mainly because of the rushed ending and lack of character development.
I would recommend this show for people who wants to watch something with a twist in the super power genre.
