As I begin the progress of watching more anime a lingering question took seed and sprouted: What defines the worth of an anime?
I believe myself to be a fair and unbiased connoisseur of anime so I tried to be as unbiased as possible when writing this review.
Once, a long time ago, a man said: "Anime waifu's, what if I can make them real."

rendered people act in a different persona to play a couple of games and sing? To me, this seemed to be the ploy of another money hungry large corporation seeking to monopolize yet another industry. So, when the anime came out I wasn't exactly thrilled.
However, after much urging from friends, and with a heavy heart and determination, I sat and watched through 61 odd episodes of what seemed to be a bad trip off of laced acid.
So- what is it like watching Holo no Graffiti: imagine a college leveled algebra class but the teacher writes mirrored and teaches in Greek. After 20 episodes and not getting a single one of the jokes or puns the hololive girls were trying to make I gave up completely and deemed it a call for more donations. Now yes, I understand that the episodes are references to streams, but why should viewers watch a stream for an hour for a 20 second reference and perhaps maybe a "yea, I remember that" and a heavy exhale through the nose?
While the plot is nonexistent and doesn't attempt to attach new audience members, the art is completely bland and nothing special. The girl featured is wonderfully 3D rendered but the backgrounds and non rendered beings are either drawn by a high school art class or taken off of google images. Speaking of high school art I wholeheartedly believe that my 9th grade stop motion project had more frames per second than this. Often times the girl would seem to be floating above said coach or chair. However, moe makes money and tugs on hearts so perhaps its passable?
The sound is irritating, to be blunt hearing high pitched laughter and screams repetitively is nowhere near the top of my bucket list. The background noise is irritating there is sudden changes in sound quality. It hurts.
I guess most people aren't watching for character development, I tried my best to like the characters but they are at most bland. I mean read your typically rom-com and you'll understand. Every character falls within the range of a typically character archetype to an T. There is no originally and if they are suppose to make you feel attached they don't.
To be fair this show has its moments but there is no way to compare Holo no Graffiti to say the Tatami Galaxy or Violet Evergarden (both in the 8.6), this show is just inflated by the thousands that believe that Hololive is worth their life savings. After 60 episodes this show gave me nothing but a migraine.
In conclusion, if you think is show is a 10 than so be it but looking at this show objectively there is nothing other than CGDCS keeping the series afloat. Yeah, say the show is deep and representative of life, but when the girl is laying on the sofa, spinning in circles, and throwing pencils at the ceiling and laughing all at once, I don't think any sane person would consider that an representation of how their life is.

In life there are things people randomly hate. For instance, stuff like "minecraft youtubers" and competitive eaters. There are things we randomly hate with a passion even when it doesn't harm anyone or anything in anyway shape or form.
However, after watching this anime the opposite may be true as well.
I remember the first time I set sight on this anime while browsing through Netflix. It seemed out of place, a childish cartoon shape figure set between the beautifully drawn art of Violet Evergarden and critically esteemed Kimiuso.

into a poorly drawn "Gamers"?
Then came a day when I, still using my friends Netflix, got bored of the 15 anime Netflix had and decided to give High Score Girl a go. I was taken away.
The story falls in line with most anime cliches: useless guy "falls in love" with rich shelter girl, but twisted it elegantly. Set in the 90's during the arcade boom, the anime follows the 6th grader Haruo journey to become the greatest street fight gamer in the world. However, along the way he meets an unlikely acquaintance: Akira Oono. The direction and goal of Haruo changed.
Slowly, Oono drifted into Haruo's life. A bond is quickly formed and slowly it seems that the characters were made for each other.
I give this story 9/10: Though slow the story is nothing short of extraordinary.
This only thing that's particularly under-average for this anime is its art; there is a hell ton of CGI used poorly in the beginning few episodes. However, it was soon fixed. The art may be childish and seem like a cartoon but you'll grow into it as the show progresses.
Art: 7.5/10 rounded to 8
The sound is done cleanly. There's nothing exceptional about it but there's nothing bad about it. This is one of the rare shows where I actually liked the ending more than the opening.
Sound: 8/10
I don't even know how to describe the characters. Summed up in one word I would have to say: phenomenal. Our MC does all of the talking, much like any middle-highschooler of today. However, unrealistically the MC can read emotions. The Main Heroine, Oono, is a women of few words. In fact I firmly believe she didn't say a single word throughout both seasons. However, with her melodramatically facial expressions we get the jist of what she's saying. At the same thing we also got our competitor heroine Hidaka who is just too nice of a character. Other than that the side-characters play minor support roles but still fit into the story nicely.
Characters: 9/10
Overall I believe both seasons of HSG are gems. They're cleanly polished and some of J.C Staff's best work. For such a minimalist show it sure struck a chord in my heart.

This adaption is pitiful its pathetic compared to the manga and to me after a fair 20 episodes it was straight up unwatchable and I've watched quite a lot of amines.
You might be wondering whats the problem?
It's the plot, it doesn't seem to be following any of the manga at all and instead jumps from one chapter to 3 chapters after that. Secondly, its horrendous rushed, it chopped around 15 chapters and skewed it awkwardly into a single episode. If you haven't read the manga most likely you'll get lost after around 3 episodes.
The only saving grace was the art, it clean and smooth. The

After the release of the first season I had high hopes for this adaption of Baki, however, while it is a great adaption- its a far cry from the first season. I have 3 key points to pick at.
First off the fights, the art was crisp and direct exactly like the manga, I wasn't at all disappointed, but the commentary- the commentary was disgusting, I hope they know that most anime watchers aren't blind, I don't need a screeching voice drowning out the action and screaming "Ryujin this" "Ryujin that" every damn second. The narrator was as good as always
Secondly the pacing, while the pacing

seemed fine at first they seemed to have shortened the fights out quite a bit but its overall fine.
Finally the characters, we finally see development in Baki and not side characters! The character of Mohammad Ali Jr is way to cocky in the anime compared to the manga.
Overall I am not disappointed but the announcer in the arena pissed me off enough to throw my remote into the wall.

Once upon a time a wee 15 year old kevin was browsing through the sacred mangafreak app trying to see if "Hataraku Maō-sama" had a manga. Unfortunately, the manga wasn't found but like all men of culture the loli on this cover caught my attention and I was prepared to be amazed. This manga is basically "The devil is a part timer" but instead of a single protagonist, it follows the lives of 6 girls that work fullish- parttime? fulltimeish? lives? in a family restaurant. Anyways while the storytelling is shifty at times the art and character designs pays way tf off.

So one night a very bored and upset Kevin was browsing through mangas after being completely destroyed at a track meet. Somehow I noticed this manga out of the corner of my eye and decided to give it a go. And after pulling an all nighter and about an hour into the new day I was caught up. While typically i dislike mangas that uses the “hot blooded teenagers using violence to solve their problems” route I was hooked to this one. Somehow the author managed to use the laidback altitude of the protagonist’s promise to “turn to a new leaf and never fight again”

and his very huge amounts of pride to create a plot that gives such through insight into the characters that it seemed put you into the story firsthand. The art was also drawn in such a way gritty way that makes you feel as if your reading a classic like berserk but with sharp and clean edges and lines.
To summarize if your trying to forget everything in your life for a couple hours and want to see high schoolers that’s built like the joestars duke it out, this manga is for you.

So after seeing this anime all over Instagram and such, I decided to give it a go.
And about 4 minutes in I was completely bored with it. First off, the storyline was absolutely horrible, I get and watched pure-comedy animes about childhood with plotlines that allow you to watch in whatever order and still get it but this wasn't the case. There was no explanation of how and why Umaru could shrink. Secondly, the characters were done horribly Umaru-chan's 2 faced personality pisses me off for some reason, her crying and constant whining also hurt my ears. The only redeeming quality of this anime was

its art as it was actually pretty clean.
To summarize I've watched pure comedy animes about childhood and whiney children Ex. Crayon Shinchan, but this was just done plain wrong.
