Higurashi no Naku Koro ni~ I remember when I first heard of it, all I could think about was how long the shows' name was, and exactly how I was going to remember it. After watching the first four episodes, the title was practically burned into my memory. By the time I finished the series, it had become a personaly favorite of mine. It is definitely one of the best psychological/horror anime I have seen.

*If you do not like violent anime, you may want to stay away from this one. There is a lot of gruesome scenes. Don't let the cute faces fool you*

The character ... development, the way they accurately portray each characters' fall into paranoia and madness, is brilliant and highly entertaining. The characters are awesome, each one with their own unique personality. The art/animation was alright. The music fit the mood greatly, and the OP is awesome.

One thing people seem to have trouble with is the way the show is arranged. They complain about being confused because of how the show resets after each story arc. It's alright if you are confused, because you're supposed to keep asking yourself . . . what exactly is going on in Hinamizawa? O.o The mystery is part of what makes this series so great

The sequel, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, will give you all the answers you seek. Also, once you finish the sequel, be on the lookout for the third season. It's suppose to come out later this year ^_^

Spice and Wolf is a great anime series.

There are a few things that make it great:
- The interaction between the two main characters, Lawrence and Horo
- Horo
- The focus on the economics side of society

Lawrence and Horo are a great match for one another. There are some highly entertaining scenes between them ^_^ I cannot think of any other anime character that comes close to being anything like Horo, personality wise. She is a wolf god in human form, who has a love for apples. Horo really is adorable, with her tail and wolf ears. I think everyone would have a hard time not ... liking her.

She is also known as Horo the Wise! With her great intuition, she can tell when people are lying most of the time. This is a part of why the economic aspect of the series is so enjoyable, whereas I thought I would be bored by all the technical talk. It really was not too hard to follow.

As for the actual story, Spice and Wolf tells of the journey Lawrence and Horo take to the north. Several things happen along the way. I gave it an extra point for the unique focus on economics.

The music wasn't all that memorable, except for both the opening and ending songs. The OP was great, I don't think I ever skipped it. I enjoyed the ED with its catchy tune and use of engrish. I do remember the background music fitting the setting of the series. The animation was just great

The way it ends suggests that there will be a second season airing sometime in the future. This will not be the last we see from Horo the Wise!

This is a great watch for people who like smart insightful anime and romantic comedies, as Spice and Wolf is able to bring those two together in a good way. A great anime series 9/10

I figured it was about time I posted a review on one of my favorite anime of all time. Samurai X: Tsuiokuhen (Trust and Betrayal) is a masterpiece of an OVA, and the prequel to the Rurouni Kenshin anime series.

After having completed the series, to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. This OVA series is what gave me a new appreciation for Rurouni Kenshin. Needless to say, you should watch the series before diving into this one, as it will allow you to feel the same as I did.

The animation is top notch. It is a beauty to behold. The musical score composed ... by Taku Iwasaki is as Epic as the anime itself though when listening to the soundtrack I felt that it was somewhat repetitive. As for the story, it was absolutely compelling from its action packed start to its ultra sad ending.

One of the reasons I enjoyed this so much was because of the action and romance that was brought together. The fight scenes are really fast paced and awesome. Whereas the first half, Trust, is more action based, the second half, Betrayal, focuses more on the romance part of the story. I loved the peacefulness of Episode 3. Some people, who are only looking for action, may have been disappointed by the lack of it in this episode. This is a drama, that involves action and romance. I feel that between the first two episodes and the last two episodes, a perfect balance was struck.

This is obviously a must see for anime fans. Fans of the Rurouni Kenshin series get to see Kenshin at his best, not to mention an appearance by Saitou. Even if, for whatever reasons, you do not enjoy Rurouni Kenshin, I must advise you not to pass on this sure to be timeless classic tale of Trust and Betrayal

Blood+. It has been a while since I saw it but now, after all this time, I feel I can really reflect on it. It's your typical vampire story with a twist. The beginning was extremely interesting, but after a while, it just got kinda boring, and in the end, I felt as if I had wasted a lot of my time. It could have ended a lot earlier instead of making it 50 episodes.

The emphasis is more on the characters than the action, and all the fights are pretty much the same. Nothing that would really amaze me. This would have been alright if ... it weren't for the fact that most of the characters were just annoying. I really couldn't stand Kai, especially considering how his relationship with Mao turned out. Saya was still unlikeable even after she seemed to have matured after the one year time skip. I really didn't enjoy Blood+. It had an interesting story, but it was brought down by poor execution and direction.

I found this movie to be very touching. It is best watched after episode 63, the end of the soul society rescue arc.

The first thing you will notice is that it feels like a movie, and not just because of the beautiful animation. When someone is sent to soul society in the series, most of the time it feels routine; just something they always do. In the first scene, however, everything is different. I was completely moved. The main reason for this was the way they cut into the title screen. As I watched the girls' spirit rise through the air, they began playing an ... original theme song. I always say that anything can be enjoyed more when you feel the connection between audio and animation. From the moment I heard that song, I knew this film was one to be remembered.

I liked how you get to see all the characters from the series again, most of whom were not seen after the end of the soul society rescue arc (Kenpachis' entrance is just awesome). Although most of them do not get much screen time, it is not a problem. The focus of the movie is on Ichigo, a shinigami named Senna, and these mysterious white figures. It does a good job providing us with the background of Senna. We get just enough information to keep us curious. The villains are somewhat typical, but I do not want to spoil anything. It is for this reason that this gets a 9

Bleach: Memories of Nobody is an unexpected treat that is very enjoyable, and does the series a great justice. An overall amazing movie.

Baccano! is an anime that very few people have been talking about, which is a shame since it is so good. Film noir and pulp fiction . . . in an anime?! When I read this description, before it even aired, I knew it was a must see for me.

Having seen the movie Pulp Fiction, I knew, to some extent, what to expect in terms of how the story is told. If you aren't familiar with the film, then allow me to explain. This is the kind of anime that you can start watching without having any idea as to what it is about. The ... reason being you truly don't know what is going on until around the halfway point in the series.

All you need to know is that Baccano! is a violent, action packed, comical drama involving immortal alchemists and the mafia (I hear people saying . . . what?). There is no question that you will be confused for quite some time, but you should stick with it since everything does become clearer as the story progresses. As for the ending, I thought it was very well done and everything came together nicely.

The music they chose for Baccano! is superb. A collection of jazz tunes that immerses you in the time period of the anime. The opening song quickly became one of my all time favorites. You can see from the OP that there is a large number of characters. With every episode more and more is revealed about them through the use of multiple time jumps/flashbacks, and you can see in which way they are all connected. Each character has a unique personality and a story of their own. In the end, you will be wishing that you had more time to spend with them. They are truly unforgettable.

Baccano! was one of the best, most entertaining anime of 2007. The only thing left for me to say is that I really wish it was more talked about.

Spirited Away was one of my first anime. I remember my mom came home from the movie store with it one day. It was a pleasant surprise for me to find that such a film exists. After it ended I said to myself, this isn't like any other animated films I had ever seen before . . . and then I watched it a second time.

Visually, I believe this is Hayao Miyazaki's best film. Everything is a joy to look at. The soundtrack of Spirited Away is one of my favorite anime soundtracks. This is one of the many strengths of the film. I feel ... that this is the best of Joe Hisaishi's works as well.

When the soundtrack and visuals come together, it makes all the little things in the film so much more special. The scene where Chihiro is on the train with No Face is one of my favorite scenes in the film. Something this simple can be so great only because of the connection between audio and animation.

Some people have said the story was confusing. For me, it was not all that hard to follow. Maybe that comes from having seen it so many times.

Spirited Away is a strange and unique anime that absolutely blew me away. The kind of film you can watch over and over again. It sparked my interest in anime and the works of Hayao Miyazaki. I cannot praise this film enough.

Princess Mononoke. Another classic from Hayao Miyazaki.

Before watching this, the only other Miyazaki film I had seen was Spirited Away. That was my favorite anime at the time. After watching Mononoke, I found a new favorite.

I think the english dub of the film is one of the better ones out there. Their choices for voice actors and actresses were good for the film.

The animation was superb, as was the music. The strength of Mononoke lies in the story. I really felt connected to the characters. When Ashitaka was searching for San, I felt the sense of urgency with which he was running. I was practically ... jumping up and down while rooting for him to reach her.

The ending was definitely different from Miyazaki's other films, but then again, I feel that you have to look at this film differently. It was something you would not expect and I feel it is a good thing.

Princess Mononoke is definitely one of my top anime of all time, and my favorite anime film. If only they can give it a Disney release like they did Miyazaki's other film.

Although it was cut short, this is definitely worth watching.

If you sit through the first couple of episodes you will be surprised. What seems like a typical story at first turns out to be far from typical.

I thought it was going to be another one of those magical girl animes where the main character, in this case Yoko, is an annoying high school girl that can't do anything on her own. Weak and useless, the kind of character you can't stand, at least I couldn't. I was about to stop watching, but . . .

Boy was I glad I didn't. I don't want to give ... away too much, but this series has some of the best character development I've ever seen in anime. Simply put, by the end of the first arc, Yoko was a completely different person.

Juuni Kokki has such an amazing story, once you really get into it, it's very hard to stop watching. Often times a character will be in the middle of explaining something and they have all your attention ... and then the episode just ends and it really forces you to continue because it's so intriguing. There's so much to learn about the world of The Twelve Kingdoms~ the people in it and how they live. The story itself could be very moving at times. You really feel for the characters, after all that they go through. I can't really go as in depth as some of the other reviews, so you may want to look elsewhere for more info

Each episode seems to end at such a weird place, it forces you to jump right to the next episode. The way they decided to do this, it would seem unnatural. You normally wouldn't end an episode while in the middle of explaining something. However, in The Twelve Kingdoms, this very unique idea actually works in favor of the anime.

I feel that it deserves a five star rating, despite the fact that it was left unfinished. We still get to see the resolution of the main character's storyline, although it would have been nice if they took it further.

In the end, Juuni Kokki has already taken its place as one of the best animes I've seen.

GTO is one of the funniest and most touching anime I've ever seen. Onizuka is one of my favorite anime characters. He may be a pervert, but he has a big heart and it shows in every episode as he shows his students how to enjoy school again (even though they are all trying to bring him down). We get to know a lot about the students in his class over the course of the anime. As each of their problems are solved, there is a visible change in their attitude. There are just enough episodes for us to get to know and care about ... all of them. The only thing that felt out of place was the ending, but I'll get back to that later.

The music which is played matches the scene greatly and definitely helps a lot. Onizukas' theme is one of my favorite anime songs. Every time I hear it, I can't help but smile.

The animation is pretty good, considering it was made in 1999. I especially liked all the funny faces Onizuka makes.

It's a shame that it had to end the way it did, but the anime ended before the manga did, so I can forgive them. There is no better thing to do than watch it again since you will be wanting more. Great Teacher Onizuka deserves its spot as one of my top 5 anime.
