Break Blade is one of those animes with a lot of potential. Unfortunately this is just a "12er" (only 12 episodes), and this is just not enough to develop a deep story and profound characters.

The strongest part of this anime however is, without a doubt, the art, animation and sound. It is just incredible. The highest quality you´ll probably ever see in a mecha anime. A lot of details, colours, special effects. The mechs are a 100% hand-drawn, yet they still look better than any other made with CGI.

The way the producers used the art in combination ... with the sound of moving and clashing metal gives a (more) realistic feeling of super big and heavy machines moving and batteling...

...and this brings me to the next point, which makes me give this anime a straight 10/10: the batteling of the mechs. mother of god. i´ve seen gundam animes and what not, but this is just over the top deluxe mecha fighting like any boy or man dreams of. the fighting is so intense at one point that watching an entire episode seems like just 5 minutes passed. The enjoyment is fantastic

so... this is why you should definetly watch Break Blade if you like mecha animes. It won´t give you a super story and super characters like other ones, but it will blow you out of your socks with the animation and the mechs battleling the shit out each other.

---> the first day i watched 14 eps, and i thought: okay, this is cool, nice effects, nice story, much action, great battles. altough the battles seemed totally exeggarated and a little bit ridiculous, which doesn´t change until the very end, they are not of high quality in the sense of strategy or cleverness. at this point i thought that i´m just to old for this, but for kids who are 10 years younger (i am 21), this must ... be THA SHIT!

---> the second day i watched 7 eps. the story made a time warp of 7 years...bam! its like a punch in your dick! all of the sudden the story is much more interesting, the action, battles and explosions even greater (let me tell you at this point that this anime includes the biggest and sickest explosions i have ever seen. shit is exploiding EVERYWHERE!!), and everything is just more awesome.

---> the third day, which is today, after i watched the last 6 episodes, i am just fucking speechless. i have never seen anything like this before (yet i have over 65 days of anime). there is so much action and explosions and battles compressed into so few episodes that its density could almost create a black hole. threre are so much light effects and stuff that i thought i am close to a seizure. everything happens so fast, that although there are dramatic and sad scenes, you just don´t have any time to think about them.

---> at the very end, i cannot belive that its the same anime i started 3 days ago. it makes a HUGHE development in story, characters, battles, drama, and overall awesomness that its just crazy!!
althouh i really like this show, i still think it fits more for younger viewers.

nonetheless: fucking awesome! shut down yor brain activities and enjoy the show! you won´t regret it!

Witchblade - i expected this anime to be a sort of *not much of a story but a lot of action and ecchi* anime, as i read the description on an anime streaming site. i just finished it and shall present to you my fresh impression of this anime.

to my biggest suprise, there was not that much of action in it, but quite a lot of talking. and there was no "ecchi" in it at all (expect of the girls to have really big boobs, but thats not really ecchi, is it). the more episodes you progress, the more interesting it gets, and i, ... personally, was not bored even a second.

the main topic of this anime was the mother-daughter relationship of the main protagonist and her child. that makes this anime something special and "mature". in fact it gets really emotional at the end. about the ending... i shall say this much: its quite a sad ending.

all in all i really enjoyed watching this anime. witchblade is neither outstanding, nor a masterpiece, but its a really good anime which i would recommend to you if you search for an anime that differs from all other "action, superpower and sci-fi" animes, but still contains these genres.
