Just an aging, queer manga fan bored by how terrible most shounen is, and catching up on shoujo and josei classics. Fan of instant coffee. I love slice of life stories with strong character development, manga featuring queer narratives, thoughtful looks at human relationships and their intersection with oppressive systems, and dark deconstructions of popular tropes.

My favorite characters are chaotic, gay, or dumb. Goals, honestly. My least favorite shows are heavy on fan service (especially that of minors), have misogynistic undertones (particularly when written for a male audience), or have poor characterization and character development.

I don't watch many new shows, because the types of stories I like are rarely created anymore, and are mostly drowned out by a series of low-quality drivel (and some excellent stories that are not my personal taste). Here's to hoping we can have a resurgence of shows like Nana, Utena, Honey and Clover, and more.

My scores are inflated (5, to me, is truly average) because I tend to watch well-received classics that cater to my own tastes. I tend to give abysmal reviews to a lot of seasonal anime or recommendations others give me, since the quality is just so lackluster. A "6" rating isn't a bad show: it's slightly above average. A scathing review or anything below a 3, however, is atrocious.
